After serving my time for a felony, I got out and decided to start a family and make proper use of my second chance but deep down I really wanted my gun rights restored for my family’s safety, living in a rural area, my therapist recommended an attorney who specializes in restoring gun rights for felon and other expungement cases. Having gathered the necessary documents showing my rehabilitation, he filed a petition and presented a strong case and to my greatest surprise my gun rights were restored and I feel very relieved knowing I can protect my family and move on with my life. Got a 3 year old and a baby on the way.

After serving my time for a felony too, I’m trying to rebuild my life and support my family. I live in a rural area also, and I’ve been feeling anxious about our safety. Seeing you were able to restore your gun rights with the help of a specialized attorney. Could you share how you found the right attorney and what steps you took?Or any direct contact of your attorney would be appreciated.

And violates their oath to office to up tx const only allows for laws to pass on how one carries their firearm in public

@@FOREIGNBOYLOUIEONE3 Got a nonviolent felony charge in 04'. But I'd never been in any (serious) trouble before. So my attorney recommended using my "first offender act" so that I could be able to retain my weapons and voting rights after my probationary period was up (which was 5 years). Even after getting off of probation, I had to get a judge to sign off on the paperwork before I could get my rights back and get a carry license. But as far as I understand it, you can get your rights back even if you DIDN'T use the "first offender act". From what I hear, it just takes going through an application process, and possibly paying a fee to get the right judge to expunge your charges.

I'm trying to understand where in law does it say that once you become a felon you lose your rights, I have never found this law, Once you commit a felony while you are doing your time, and on probation or parole you are subjected to lose your rights, once you are free and clear of your time, your probation , and or parole, your rights are automatically restored, man did not give you rights man cannot take them away nor grant you permission to retain them, I'm sorry but there is just no such thing, I am ex-felon, not a felon, and I own guns allot of guns, and I dare them to come and try to take my guns, or charge me for owing them....

I live in the state of Georgia and the first time I applied for a firearm was back in 1995 and was denied but I think the guy at the counter was taking up on himself to deny me.. aged 18 to own a shotgun it was a tactical home defender I think maybe made by Smith & Wesson. Okay this is a question that will go viral, I can own a firearm AR-15 for high-capacity pistol and it had the police try to take me to jail after entering my home for misleading circumstances. So I know I can own a gun but I wonder why I cannot confidently try to get my concealed carry permit. I'm afraid they will make me forfeit my right to own the firearms I own now. Set alarm for 100k fighting felonies so I am not a convicted felon but I have multiple violent felonies across my history. So what do I do carrying permit?

But you get caught carrying by some unforseen circumstances and that is a nasty charge. Plus, if happens as a result of being charged with other types of crimes they can use that as means of enhancing your sentence to something a lot more severe.
Say you are with someone in a car or a public place, a cop rolls up and finds some weed or other drugs, they can charge you both as co-defendants and that felon in possession of a firearm charge on top of a drug charge can turn few months or couple years to a full on dime in maximum security.
Granted that's assuming whomever else you were with that didn't bother letting you know they were holding doesn't step up and take full responsibility admitting ownership and didn't bother to tell you they had shit. Which happens all the damn time to folks. And it makes it nearly impossible to make a case for your innocence since you were already illegally carrying a firearm. It shows criminal intent and mentality... There is no way you are going to beat that shit unless whomever steps up and even then the Prosecutor or judge can choose to ignore it and still charge you both.
My prayers go out to you... May God keep you safe.

After that did a shit load of calling many lawyers offices, with them all saying " you're a felon for life and can never own a gun", with none of them asking what age i was during the charge... well years went on by and i became my own "lawyer" and found out i plead guilty under the YOA act.. so i called the solicitor office and asked them about it, paid $600 and about months later got my expungment papers in the mail, "records destroyed".. been riding with guns ever since, pulled over many of times and weapon handed back to my glove box once they unloaded it of course.

Congratulations man! Everyone has the right to self defense and defense of their loved ones and families. Evil people that want to hurt people will get guns or other means to cause harm even if they are felons, because those people have the criminal mentality and don't care if they're breaking the law, they're criminals. By going through the proper channels and getting your full rights reinstated that is a display that you are no longer in the criminals mindset and are living life as a "good guy" who's now trying to play by the "rules", which let's be honest, is basically just not being a selfish piece of shit that is prioritizing their selfish needs/wants over others safety, lives, and possessions and willing to hurt others to take what's not theirs. People do make mistakes often times as young adults on a bad path, and sometimes later in life some poor decision making can take place. But it's never too late to do the right thing and change and do good.

Which is reasonable and understandable due to the fact for security reasons(for public purposes) but the exspongement is for the overall purpose, use and opportunity for employment and a betterway of life GOALS!
These things won't appear to employers when the Background or CORI check.
That is the beauty of it as well.
Too often we end up(ex felon) suffer from lack of opportunity or a cap on the jobs that are the "GOOD PAYING" ones because we disqualified ourselves.
Not saying you can't get "Paid" but we place ourselves TOO FAR away from the starting line.
I know this was content dealing with Reinstating Your right to bear Arms...
I just wanted to Highlight the Most important FACT of cleaning a "CLEANABLE CRIMINAL RECORD"

Many lawyers don't want you to have any rights back because they see it as Lossing client and future refurales through you.
It's cool you did your work yourself. 📸

I'm guessing if you had the same demeanor in court as you have in this video, that counted for a lot. Your mental presence and rationale seem exceptionally reasonable. I know quite a few guys with f's. I'm die hard 2a but still think only half them dudes ought to be restored.
