Great video! I just got a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield and shot it first time this week.I used your suggested load of 40 grains and it works very well.Thank you!
Wonderful shots (these 10s!) and wonderful video: I like how you filmed it, with scenes where we can both see you aiming and the target in the distance (plus the little zoomed view of the target), and others more close up on you (but still with that useful little zoomed view of the target); that's a good mix! Fun thing: at 7:10 , perspective makes it look as if your rifle were scoped (if one squints a bit)! :D
I just found this guy, and damn I applaud you sir, I always get strange looks when I say I'd love to sport a muzzle loader but this guy gets it. Keep it up man!
Oh yeah, did I tell you I finally got a original Pattern 1853 Enfield? Nipple is mushroomed though, need to replace it. First six inches of the bore are crap and rusty, but the rest is really good, clear and shiny.
Instead of Capandball I may have to start calling you Dr. Frankenstein... Why you ask, I'm glad you asked. Your glasses keep getting more and more like Dr. Frankenstein's. Awesome shooting as usual. Shoot lots and stay safe.
That's great shooting even though it might not be up to your standards. Good luck in the competition! I have a USPSA (IPSC outside the U.S.) competition in two days. Always anticipating the next competition.
Ah, nothing like shooting black powder on a damp/rainy or humid day where the smoke just hangs in the air and if shooting a flinter you get that nice sludge forming in the pan.
Damn you can actually see the bullet fly into the target, I bet comparing black powder vs smokeless is like comparing horse power vs torque, smokeless gets you hitting the target fast, but black powder is how hard do you want to hit that target
Great videos, you mention your bullet lube is the same lube you use in most of your videos and that it is tallow/beeswax/synthetic oil. What are your ratios for your lube recipe if I may ask.
Have you noticed any point of aim/ point of impact changes when shooting from prone or standing? With my Martini Henry and the original black powder load, I shoot a lot higher at the prone versus the standing. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the rifle recoils.
Outstanding. This guy is the definition of quality over quantity. Can you please refer me to an old video (if you have done one) that shows how to clean a muzzleloader. (General muzzleloader) or refer me to an other creators video that you would approve of. And also. What is your favourite USA civil war rifle? I will name different criteria please select your fav for each (if you feel like it lol) 1: aesthetics: 2: accuracy 3: firepower/capacity Thank you and please don’t stop making quality videos until RUclips kicks you because GUNS ARE BAD...... apparently.
On another subject Ian from Forgotten Weaoons is going to be in Belgium during the Summer at the " Hill 80 Dig" of a WW 1 bunker Any chance You are going to Meet up with when He is over there?
Grouping like that with Minie ball always makes me wonder what a patched round ball would do. I hunt with a 63 Remington repro. It has slow twist barrel and really doesn't group very well with Minie ball. It's a tack driver with patched round ball though. I hunt with round ball and 80gr. of FF. Round ball doesn't hit with the same authority, but I don't get the occasional flyer like I do with Minie ball.
That was realy good!!! At the moment I can not start military shootin. I dont have the right gun :-( but maybe later. It seems to be funny. So thanks and please more of that!!
Mine are weak close in, but I am still able to shoot at mid range distances fairly well. Currently I use my regular glasses with a short strip of electrical tape on the right lens with a 1/16th" hole punched in it. This enables the eye to include both front and rear sight focus and since I am farsighted the target remains as always. It is a simple fix but it works.
Shooting glasses are made by Champion, Knobloch, and Varga. I think those are Vargas. In the United States, I'd try Champion's Choice and Pilkington Competition.
Can you get your hands on a Gibbs and do a vid on it?Looking to buy one.Thanks......PS...Been watching your vids for a long time now, keep up the good work and good luck!
I have another question. I saw you use a hand held bullet lube tool on a video a year or so ago and i wanted to ask where they are sold if you dont mind me asking. Thanks.
By your standard, my 535 grain bullet could vary by +or- 2.6 grains, is this sufficient for 1000 yards? Shooters that I have spoken to speak of +or- .5 grains which seems excessive to me.
Probably the best and most informative channel I've seen on this subject, excellent thank you.
Great video! I just got a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield and shot it first time this week.I used your suggested load of 40 grains and it works very well.Thank you!
Note to self..... never stand downrange of this guy ;-)
Great vid mate and good to see you getting your practice in. Good luck for the competition.
sandmanhh67 You might as well stand in front of the bullseye, he’s gonna hit you anywhere you are, do him a solid and have it in the black.....
That is scary accurate for an antique BP muzzle loader
My favorite gun channel on youtube. Hungary seems like a lovely country
wooooow the precision of this rifle is amazing :)

Best of luck to you and all competitors
Good luck Balázs!
Excellent video! I very much enjoy watching you shoot with black powder. It is always amazing to see the accuracy of these rifles!
I just found this guy, and damn I applaud you sir,
I always get strange looks when I say I'd love to sport a muzzle loader but this guy gets it.
Keep it up man!
Looking forward to seeing you push out further.
Fantastic shooting and a beautiful rifle.
I’ve got to say this man is a handsome black powder master! 💥🍁
Hope you win the competition and get the trophy!
Oh yeah, did I tell you I finally got a original Pattern 1853 Enfield?
Nipple is mushroomed though, need to replace it.
First six inches of the bore are crap and rusty, but the rest is really good, clear and shiny.
Incredible aim
Excellent shooting!! Good luck with the match! Thanks again for the great videos!
Instead of Capandball I may have to start calling you Dr. Frankenstein... Why you ask, I'm glad you asked. Your glasses keep getting more and more like Dr. Frankenstein's. Awesome shooting as usual. Shoot lots and stay safe.
Best of luck (and skill of course!) during your match! Thank you for all your shooting tips. Regards
Great video, best wishes for a successful Championship match.
You surely weren't joking about that rifle being a tack driver. Nice shooting!
Omg, nice shoot
That's great shooting even though it might not be up to your standards. Good luck in the competition! I have a USPSA (IPSC outside the U.S.) competition in two days. Always anticipating the next competition.
Nice and wonderful shoot sor😊
fine shooting just the same.. looks like a very good shooter you have. Thumbs up
Nice shooting mate
Awesome video good sir, and good luck in the competition. If you can earn extra points for classy accents I'm sure you will win on that alone 😉👍
Ah, nothing like shooting black powder on a damp/rainy or humid day where the smoke just hangs in the air and if shooting a flinter you get that nice sludge forming in the pan.
Nice shooting
really nice video, Thank's .

Thanks for the video Nice I'm a fan,
capandball
Funny thing, I have a Blanch @ Son too. Caliber is near 582. But the other with Tanner-barrell shoots best at 50m (in the hands of M. Schickermüller.)
Nagyszerű felvétel és videó
Balázs , mindig tudtam hogy jól lösz ,de ez már túlzás . :) Gratulálok . További jó munkát , eredményeket kívánok. :D
That is a cool jacket
You were definitely one of Berdan’s boys in your previous life. You need to show your stuff at Friendship!
That was a very nice shot at 3:50, What was your distance when you hit that bullseye if you don't mind me asking?
Excellent shooter and film maker:)))
Great videos, you mention your bullet lube is the same lube you use in most of your videos and that it is tallow/beeswax/synthetic oil. What are your ratios for your lube recipe if I may ask.
At 4:38 you can see the ball hitting the target, actually falling into it.
Have you noticed any point of aim/ point of impact changes when shooting from prone or standing? With my Martini Henry and the original black powder load, I shoot a lot higher at the prone versus the standing. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the rifle recoils.
Yes it does, as your position effects the rearward movement of the gun.
How much difference have you personally noticed when shooting black powder rifles?
Great video. I still want to know about that bullet luber you have. Never seen anything like it.
Made by Pedersoli!
Great group. Are there limits on how small a charge can be? I noticed that the ball can be seen as it strikes the target.
No limits on the charge unless you use real BP, no substitute.
Can you use military target rifles such as parker hale volunteer in this disciplin? Or a whitworth they also existed in larger calibers than .45
The rifle must be accepted officially for service by a country, and caliber must be above .54.
It seems a very low powder charge. Is this for fatigue, fowling, recoil, etc. or is it simply more accurate?
I may be wrong , but i thought it was more accurate to use a patched round ball with a slow twist rifle like that?
Still practicing? Championship is right around the corner.
Love that bullet lubing device I see you using, is it commercially available?
yes, made by Pedersoli.
Can you ever do a video on the Kentucky Long rifle , by the way Good Luck on the Championship.
hey there, i am very new to BP shooting and was wondering, the grease/wax/lube dispenser he uses at 2:40, what is it called, and where can one buy one
Outstanding. This guy is the definition of quality over quantity.

Balzas, did you ever try Swiss #2 in that rifle? The N-SSA shooters have been getting good results with #2 or 3Fg.
Yes, tried each granulation and only 1,5 Fg Swiss worked.
That was realy good!!! At the moment I can not start military shootin. I dont have the right gun :-( but maybe later. It seems to be funny. So thanks and please more of that!!
Nice shooting! Where might one purchase a pair of those shooting glasses?
Mine are weak close in, but I am still able to shoot at mid range distances fairly well. Twoje filmy sa super.:)
Great video as always man. Also, you will be posting on full30 or another site in the future?
Yes. I have the account but the site is not open for uploads yet.
capandball Sweet, I'll keep an eye out for uploads. Thanks for the reply.
how do you unload a muzzleloader when the powder didnt burn or lets say you loaded a bullet and forgott the powder or used the wrong one?
That's a really cool bullet lubricator. What is it?
It is made by Pedersoli

Just try it anyway
What is the make and model of your Jacket? Thanks
where do you find that tool you use to hand lube the bullets?
For some reason I read the title as 100mm muzzle loading rifle. Was really confused.
Nagyon jó, mint a többi!
Привет!
All about being safe when loading but it aint real smart thumbing the bullet into the barrel.
Is the pony play getup absolutely necessary to be competitive?
