STOLEN CAR CHASE *TPAC* & Police cars responding to pursuit!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 авг 2020
- In this video you can see the aftermath of a police chase involving a stolen Renault Clio that was stopped by the South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit using the TPAC (Tactical Pursuit And Containment) which is where a car is boxed in to bring it to a safe stop.
Also in the video are other police cars responding, as well as fire engines responding from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and Ambulances from the Welsh Ambulance service NHS trust.
The article about the pursuit from Wales online is also included, credit for that article goes to them.

Damn, you're right. That is fast.
Stolen car driver be like: How many stars should we get?
Cops: How about 4 stars? * * * *
Can't be 4 stars or they'd have rammed him of a cliff 😂
@@morggriffiths6292 Maybe American 4 stars, not British or European 4 stars =D

Correct
How come our police never use the pit manoeuvre like US cops?
They do, it's just far less likely and is mostly referred to as tactical contact. If you search something like 'UK Police ram car' you'll find a lot of videos where contact is made between a police and suspect vehicle, some of which should include tactical contact that appears to be the same as a PIT manoeuvre. Why it is less likely - I don't know. I do know that UK roads are smaller than U.S roads, that often plays a factor in it as very often in the UK pursuits ends as a suspect reaches a dead end or the road is impassable. Why use a very expensive vehicle (which insurance will only cost more if more vehicles are just damaged through police work) when you can follow them to an end? You will see police not only conducting a PIT manoeuvre but also straight out ramming them side-on to protect the public. There is a very classic video from the last couple of years that shows a police beamer ramming a suspect vehicle at pretty decent speed to stop it from going the wrong way up a motorway slip road.
A related question. In Canada and the U.S., police cars likely to be involved in these chases (such as highway patrol) are typically equipped with steel bars in front (bull bars, push bars, they have various names). They protect a police car making tactical contact with a chased vehicle, preventing damage to police cars as well as enhancing protection for the officers. The police vehicles in this video are not so equipped and have noticed that in other U.K. videos. Can anyone explain the reasoning for not adding these?
@@masseypadgham7113 Bull bars actually do protect the vehicle, however it can be more dangerous for the occupants of the vehicle because it inhibits the effect of crumple zones. They also increase the mortality rate of vehicle vs pedestrian incidents. Again, UK roads are smaller. There are cases of police vehicles responding to and hitting (and killing) pedestrians on accident. This makes bull bars undesirable. The UK also regulates bull bars specifically, whereas the US does not. Bull bars cannot cause an increased risk to occupants of the vehicle, other road users and pedestrians, and evidence shows just having one fitted does all that. But they are not illegal, however some types and brands are. I could also point out that the US and Canada are one of the only countries that have bull bars, very few anywhere else will have them.
@@tibgaming8184 Thanks. Hadn't thought of pedestrians. We had a recent case in Canada of a mass murderer who hated police. Had bought an old police car after it was retired, added these bars. When he began his killing rampage he hit a police car trying to stop him, head on. It did not have these bars. He drove away. The officer in the unequipped car was killed.
They do use it sometimes but they prefer to use the TPAC manoeuvre instead as it is safer for pedestrians and the vehicles. UK police will only ever use tactical contact when a suspect needs to be stopped immediately and there are not enough police vehicles to perform a TPAC
1:18 he's doing well over 40 and then at 2:36 has a civy car been involved?
Probably towards 80 he was doing. Yeah stolen clio
