I'm in Arizona, and with our climate my Weber 32/36 DGEV is fine plugged into the rear of the alternator. If one wanted 12 volts instead, there are adapters to fit under a switched fuse in the fuse box under the dash and then a new wire routed along the firewall to the Weber. Whenever I add a wire - like I did for my aftermarket tachometer and aftermarket cruise control in my B2200, I use a piece of masking or label tape and a Sharpie and identify it.
Very helpful Mitch thanks. Theres something more you can do on the safety side of things if i may suggest. The female spade connector connected to the choke housing can be safer if it has shrink wrap on it. You can also use a small zip tie and secure the wire to that vacuum hose thats at the base of the carb. This way if the spade connector falls or gets knocked off it wont ground out and be a potential problem.
Hey MazdaMitch...those vintage adverts were real cool and the claims made by the spokesmen about things like handling etc. Just wondered what about these trucks made you and others into big Mazda truck enthusiasts?
For me I have like the 86-93 model since it was introduced. Back then I was in Jr High School and all the highschoolers had them and customized them. I loved this truck. My dad got one in 1988 and in 1990 it was mine and I have had it ever since. Its the silver truck with black roof in my videos. I have often done repairs on it and my other truck the red one and thought I would start recording to help others.
Oilcatchcan.com The oil catch cans prevent oil and other contaminants from causing a buildup of debris inside the engine's intake manifold and collecting on top of the valves.
@@Mini_Truckers_Lifestyle no it doesn't, it just helps keep the intake and valves clean, for a cleaner burn. If you hydraulic lifters are noisy, it could be time to replace them.
@@MazdaMitch the shop that did my valve cover gasket said to pour marvels mystery oil down it or this other stuff call ec5 or something and it should help it a little bit
What a great solution. Your material on Webers is more useful than Weber's material on Webers man. Cheers.
Glad to help!

Thanks my new alternator did not come with plug hole like old one!!
Helped me. I'm forced to run the stock carb here in California. That stock choke also under powered ? It's always been hooked to the alternator.
That's fine

Hey Mitch! Any chance you could eventually make a hoodie with a little logo on the front left breast, but a large logo on the back, rat fink style?
I sure will
What size wire is that
When you find a power source how do you know if it's 12 volts ?
You need to learn how to use a test light or a multimeter I use a test light.
What’s the pros and cons for the oil catch can?

Where can I get a wire? I don’t have one
Make a wire. Its just a wire with speaker terminals on the end.
