Missing Ben's take on this, but glad we have the rest of the crew to give their opinion
Sooo many upcoming games are Ben's style. That dude is eating good this year
Looks like he deleted his Twitter account. I get it. He wanted to spend more time with friends and family and completely unplug.
If he ever decides to come back and stream JRPGs, it will be the fasted follow of my life. Dude was chill AF.
What happened to him
@@Xoediachis Twitter account had gotten hacked and he said he was quite relieved by the end of it and didn't make a new one. This was while he was on Easy Allies
him, Kyle and Jones are sorely missed and they never really replaced the value and perspectives they brought to EA.
I fondly remember the original Persona 3 Review for GameTrailers, what, 13~14 years ago? That review got me to try P3 back then and hearing Bradon Jones' voice over P3 Reload gameplay footage is so surreal to me lol
Damiani putting in work
perosna 3 was my gateway into the SMT umbrella and it was a life changing experience for me when I was in high school over 10 years ago. Looking forward to this on Friday.
I played it as a 13 year old in 2008. It's insane to think that was 16 years ago....
That Was P5 for me. Now I've played 4 and 3, and love them all for different reasons and there meanings. Can't absolutely wait for Reload!
My first and only so far is 5 royal because final fantasy has gone to action based as of now and I needed a turn based game to play and damn P5R exceeded my expectations with a 2nd playthrough going on rn.
I'm so happy you're still doing reviews. Your reviews are the best.
So hyped for this Friday! Hearing the music in the background got me feeling nostalgic. Iwatodai Dorm was my favorite track in the original game. Really enjoyed the review.
Question, my first persona game was P4 Golden. So getting into undoubtedly the best version of the series, is a no brainer for me. I wanna watch the OG play through so i can spot the differences in the remake, but it will also spoil the story for me before i play the remake. What would you suggest i do?
@@brandonbudd7328don’t watch the original cutscenes since it’ll spoil the game. Just wait for p3r to come out this Friday
I'd say play Reload and then watch a play through afterwards if you’re interested. Don't worry about the differences and experience the game for what it is, not what it has been.
@@jacoblief8263 thank you bro, thats what i ultimately decided.
Glad I could help. Hope you like it!
Persona 3 FES was the first JRPG I actually liked and got me into the larger Shin Megami Tensei franchise. I'm not sure when, but I can't wait to play this.
Damn, starting at peak must've been quite the experience!
I’ve been waiting for this!
@@user-nt3ve3du1z You console fanboys are so pathetic. To attach your self-worth to a company that doesn't give a shit about you and treats you as nothing more than an ATM is both hilarious and pathetic. But, an incel is gonna incel. 🤡
I really can't wait to play this, i even pre-ordered the Aigis Edition (the first Collector's Edition i've bought in years)
You covered everything nicely, love your reviews
I will be getting this on Friday. The days are moving along so slowly.
Thanks for the review. Not sure I'm going to be able to play this right away.
I pre-ordered as soon as I could. I really did love the feel of the Persona 5 engine, and I am so happy they brought over the elements to Persona 3 that will help make the transition to a new story easier / flow better.
Im the opposite it just seems like Atlus wants to put as much as P5 aesthetic into their next games
The funny part is that it's not even the same engine. It's Unreal Engine, while P5 was built on an in-house engine. That's why the lighting is very Unreal-esque. It just has the Persona 5 character art style.
People confuse visual aesthetics for engine.
I did get misinformed by a few reviewers@@PomuLeafEveryday - but still, it's nice to see the new models and quality of life improvements
Why pre order explain it too me
@@SENATORPAIN1 The game is out now, but I preordered it to get access to the game at launch because I loved P3 growing up, and wanted to experience it in the same game engine Persona 5 uses (with battle mechanics, shops, etc)
This is where the fun begins
Is the only Persona title, where you can do a social link after-school and then visit Tartarus at night, instead of picking one or the other, to do after-school.
That might be how they want to do it moving forward too.
Something something I've been waiting for this!
Thanks for the review Damiani
I hope they kept the famous "it's a cat dammit" line from the hot spring. Always makes me giggles
Let’s get it Damiani!
Great review, I'll check the game out later this year.
Can't wait for it to predownload for my ps5. 2 days and about 6 and half hours
P3 was the first review by you guys I ever watched!!!!
Played 3 FES on my PS2. Gonna play this one as well someday.
My weekend is going to be great!
Fell in love with P4 and P5 so I’ve been waiting a long time to play this one
Have fun sta away from spoilers.
I'M SO EXCITED!!!
Nice review!~
I'm so excited! Only because I haven't really experienced the p3 story! Only in bits and pieces. But this will be my first real dedicated playthrough 😊
Ooh nice! In my opinion p3 has one of the best story and themes out of them all only being held back by the dated quality of life that early 2000’s games have
@@nollanfk9077I have a question, I’ve never played one of these games but I’ve been watching videos and it looks amazing! Do you think I should get it Friday!
@@chuck176 if you have a PC or Xbox it will be on game pass to try it otherwise Persona is definitely one of my favorite series so I would recommend it
I can hardly wait to play this awesome game
@@user-nt3ve3du1z what are you talking about
@@user-nt3ve3du1z you sound like a nerd
Can’t wait to play this on my Steam Deck OLED
$60 bones tho😢
So what we can foreshadow for P6? Since each new Persona title, normally improves and enhances what came before.
P4 and p5 are in my top video game list. Never played 3! Can’t wait to dive in!!!
You're going to love it. It's my second favorite of the 3 modern ones.
3:20
Kotaku moment
The only review of this game I need to see.
@Easy Thanks as always for being a trusted site where you all call it as you play it. Much appreciated
May your passion continue to shine brightly Huber!
Do your non party members also level up? This was my biggest complaint with P3 and P4. It forced you to stick with a party lest you want to grind insanely to level up others. This was remedied in P5 where your non party members would also gain some % of XP and it made switching party members really fun.
Good review as usual, thanks!
P3 is the only Persona I played a significant amount of. 80 hours or so, before the grind finally got to me and I had to hang it up (losing multiple hours of progress several times due to an instant-KO move on the main character that you inexplicably can't revive >:o ). Due to that I never had much interest in looking into 4, and though I did pick up 5, I haven't gotten all that far in it. It didn't grab me the way 3 did from the beginning.
I wonder if these quality of life improvements would make me more likely to see the end this time, as this still has my favorite aesthetic of the three.
Another great RPG remake to add to the pile.
I'm convinced Robo Damiani replaced the real Damiani. Putting out PoP and Persona 3 reviews back to back is crazy.
BABYBABYBABYBABYBABYBABY
YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHUHHH
Orange peel.
can't wait to burn my bread once more
Persona 3 portable was my first persona and I'm glad they've done this. I'm so ready to dive back in. It's been 15 years since I played the psp port.
Special guest reviewer, Ben Moore!??!?!? ... no? ... oh. :(
As someone who has never played a Persona game, would this be a good one to start with?
Yes
Yes
Definitely!
yes
only really played pasona 5 and all thier spin offs .. but fuck it they have not dissapointed so far YOLO
The best Suicide Squad game that isn't called Suicide Squad.
I want to play this game pretty bad but I’m wondering if they are going to make a royal version of this game even though it’s a remake
It's Atlus, they absolutely will.
Persona 3 Reload FES
No but they may do dlc
I mean, there's a chance I suppose. But like you said this is the first time they've fully done a remake, so we don't know if they will add to it down the line.
It's my main concern with the game. P3P content and Answer content being MIA are glaring omissions, so I'm pretty sure they're going to release a REReload version with both of those in a few years.
lets goooo
I finally played P3 in late 2019 so I can't say I'd wanna start this anytime soon, but I'm glad this is out as an accessible entry point for those who've been curious about the series. Tho, something tells me that now P4 Golden is the best place to start due to Reload being more 'advanced' in many ways
Hope it's okay to ask here, but I *loved* Persona 5 but was a little tired when I hit the 90-100 hour mark. I haven't quite been able to get into Persona 4 Golden in the same way I did with P5... Do you think it likely that I would get as much enjoyment from P3/P4 as I did P5?
@@lukejonesme It doesn't help that Persona 4 starts a bit slower than P5. But it's likely because you went backwards in the series. This is primarily why I started P3 in 2019 and then finished P4 and P5 Royal in 2020. Going backwards is almost always gonna feel like a 'downgrade', and little QoL changes are gonna be missed in the older games.
That said, P3 is now remade, so I think it's now got some of that modern juice that made P5 so popular. You just gotta be patient and take breaks from JRPGs, as starting over with a new game feels like a slog. Especially after having all those abilities at the end of another game
@@kingofthesharks I fully get that! Thanks for the input. Atlus are so good at iterating on what works and making it so much better, that the mechanics in older games are 100% a downgrade.
I think for my sanity I'm gonna skip out on P3/P4, and just continue to love P5 but respect the old game. Cheers.
Im bummed this and Yakuza 8 released within a week of each other. Probably wont play this until much later in the year but then Metaphor comes out so this ones a tough one to fit in my things to play
Honestly haven't been excited for Persona since 5 in 2016 or whatever.
Amazing review, thanks Damiani!
So shift is basically batton pass from Persona 5 Royal?
Yes, but it doesn't give a stacking buff like it did in P5.
Turn based mechanics, oh how I missed thee
Persona 3 Reload Royal next year?
Im still playing bg3 and i just got infinite wealth so this one may have to wait a while.
Hope my copy isn't the Chinese version. Atlus SEA made an error in their distribution and was only announced yesterday, the day before the release..
Can the music be muted or are there separate sliders for sound and music, at least? I can't do music with lyrics in my games. I know, weird.
And also...I mean we all know the FES version or whatever is coming down the line. I'll wait for that.
Want to try it but I’ve heard several super fans say while the love the game they wouldn’t go through Tartarus again for various reasons. That’s my biggest hesitation with this
Just a heads up, this review spoils the reload version of “Memories of You” and the final block of Tartarus
Argh as soon as the word problematic is used renders everything said moot
Wait Brandon jones is still narrating??? I thought he left?? It’s why I haven’t watched EZ in a while
He did leave but they need his voice to still get views on this dying channel
He does the voice over for every review as long as they pay him for it
It's the only reason I tune into easy allies, for Brandon's review narration. It's timeless.
just 2 gb video req but comes hard with a dx 12 i see , many ppl wont play it.
Junpei IS a creeper.Bigtime.
wait for the inevitable Persona 3 Reload Royale version
this is literally the 4th version of 3
would you have skipped it in the 2000s to wait for the 2024 version?
@@sneaky5141 laughs in patient gamer
@@TheKijib 20 years isnt patient its wasting your life
@@sneaky5141 no that's the ppl who aren't patient and ended up having to play 3,4,and 5 before the definitive editions lmao
@@TheKijib imagine liking your own comment bro 💀 ever think maybe people might enjoy playing both and seeing the changes and improvements?
Great
I can't wait how they butcher the original lol
If it's too easy, no buy, it better be challenging on the hardest setting.
As someone who isn’t familiar with the series, what’s with all these characters shooting themselves in the head?
I thought P3 was the Persona game whose setting wasn't highschool?
That's Persona 2
Problematic - when someone is offended but doesn’t know why yet.
Friendly Critique: The script feels a bit too heavily weighted towards people who know the previous versions and does a weak job of introducing the game to anyone who hasn't played this Persona.
is this honest channel or one of those ign ones? because i enjoyed this review but its so hard to know who to trust
Could you please review Palworld ? 😊
I’m glad they didn’t puss out and remove the guns to the head. That was an awesome concept.
just give me the game fatlus!!!
The question is, to jump in it bow, or to wait a year and get the 'royal' treatment. Let's be honest, there's going to be the ultimate, royal and super duper editions
Saying problematic is problematic
Glad it's on xbox game pass i'm looking forward to playing it on my xbox series x.🥂😎
SOMEONE WHO PLAYED P5 SWORE UP AND DOWN P4 WAS A BETTER GAME SO I RELUCTANTLY PLAYED IT TO COMPLETION
THAT GAME WAS BAAAAAAAAAD- LIKE I WAS GETTING PHYSICALLY SICK PLAYING IT: 6.0-7.0?
P3 IS NEVER BROUGHT-UP IN THE G.O.A.T DISCUSSION SO MY EXPECTATIONS WERE EVEN LOWER THAN A 6/10 BUT THESE REVIEWS NOW GOT ME LOOKIN' FORWARD TO IT!
They needed to dig up Ben Moore's grave for this
Please do not call Jumpei a "creeper." He is a teenage boy who learns and grows as a person throughout the story, that's the point.
He's not the first reviewer I've seen today saying similarly unkind things about Junpei.
Literally within the next minute of the video:
"Yet, this plays into one of the narrative's strongest points, ... as each person is forced to face their shortcomings and attempt to better themselves in the end."
@@tuila He... Still called him a creeper.
I bet you’re the type of person that wishes they could marry an AI…
@@JayCruz49er What does that literally have to do with ANYTHING discussed here or in the video?
This review includes some problematic notions
Persona 3 FES script/characters > Persona 3 Reload script/characters
3:20 - Pretty sure no one had much of an issue with this part of Junpei's personality here dude. Nor with most if not any od the Social Links here. Why even include that in the script like we were asking wether these were still in the remake?🤦🏾♂️
I mean, you'd be wrong about that.
Which voice acting is considered original, English or Japanese?
Why would English be considered the original??
Technically Japanese since barring exceptions, that's what it's recorded in first
However, I'd recommend the dub if you're an english speaker or close to.
Persona or really just Atlus dubs in general have an outstanding english cast to the point I can't particularly think of any character in particular from Persona 4 and 5 that had a choppy performance.
Mayyyyyybe Haru in P5 but she's still amazing, just with some weird direction at times but that happens to some in the JP dubs too so it's case by case.
German is the original
GOTY
Persona 3 Reload, it really makes you feel like Persona 5.
Who cares about your review can't wait to get this game
Dungeons in 3 were very bland and im not expecting it to be so well done like in 5 but its still a remake of a ps2 classic and prety hyped for it
Tartarus still sucks? Oh well that's a pass.
how woke do you have to be to call someone flirting a 'creeper', no fun allowed with you weirdos
Can't support $70 games sorry..
OK cool
Isn’t that every single game now ? You won’t be playing anything lol
@@viniciussantos3956he can just wait a month and the go on sale
Average at best
I just can't believe in this age of school shootings and teens committing suicide they really remade Persona 3. I am not complaining just surprised
School shootings were frequent when and before it originally released too. They aren't something that have only become frequent in the last 5 or 10 years.
no one can reach the greatness of persona 5
the music
the characters
the dungeons
the story
the stylesh menu
the cast of voice actors
it's just a masterpiece
Play Persona 4, you're welcome 🙏
@@ianp5367 im a round 35 into persona 4 sadly

P5 is the worst mainline game in the modern persona series
@smcdonough1427 Base P5, definitely. P5R is at least second best.
@@ianp5367 I think P5 has the least interesting characters of the three games so it's automatically worse for me than either of them
So it's Persona 3 with or without the Persona 5 heart? Lol
They give a 9.0

One of the best stories in gaming history you mean
