  • Join us as we test drive the new Toyota GR86! We go for a test drive on the street before we go on track in the new BRZtS! This is our first time in the 86 platform, and as a Miata owner, I have high standards for sports car fun. The 86 offers tons of fun, and I could bring both my kids with me at the same time! This is very intriguing! Is it lightweight? Is it engaging? Is it great in the corners? Yes, yes, yes! We are thoroughly impressed!
I will be perfectly honest,,,,, I want one!
Shout out to the Midwest Automotive Media Association's fantastic Spring Rally as well as Toyota and Subaru for providing these awesome sports cars!
You can watch our track drive of the BRZtS here.....
    • Is new BRZtS as fun as...

FYI- this has the optional Performance package with Brembo brakes and Sachs dampers …. you might want to mention that! 😉

Excellent point! Those brakes were excellent. I do mention that in the next video where I go on track in the BRZtS. Thanks for watching!

@@DriveItOutBRZ tS and GR86 performance while both have upgraded dampers, both dampers are made by different companies, Hitachi and sach respectively.

Prior gen was lighter with more steering feel, but down on power vs this. I've owned a 2014 BRZ from new and still adore it and never been tempted to upgrade. After market support for this platform is like playing with Lego.
I'd love seeing your impression of an older gen now that you've tried this though you do kinda have to drive like you stole it, but then that's part of its charm.

I absolutely need to get in the prior gen. They intrigue me quite a bit. Hopefully I can make this happen. I hope you continue to enjoy yours! Have you kept it stock?
      Thanks for watching!

Toyota will finally be ditching Subaru on this collaboration. Should be seeing the GR86 with a Toyota engine and a turbo. My local Toyota dealership has 5 new GR86 models on the lot and on sale, below MSRP.

It definitely will be interesting to see what happens. For now, i think the current GR86 is a great bang for buck sports car, even if purchased at msrp. Below msrp is borderline irresistible.
      Thanks for watching!

Wow, seriously? times have definitely changed from the last time I stopped into the Toyota dealer ~18 months ago.
What is the ratio of MT to AT examples @ the lot these days ?

World's most boring driver? "I'm not going to rev it to 7500 rpm. what!?

Sometimes we play nice with things that aren't ours....
There is a time and place. In the video that followed we took the BRZ on track and revved it out pretty good.
Perhaps that will be more satisfying.
Thanks for watching! We loved this car!
