I agree that some people need a guide but for trekkers, it’s better to do it solo at your speed while doing EBC solo somedays when I would feel tired I would leave the tea house around 10am, or days when I would go faster &trek till night, have a good smoke, stay extra days in incredible places along the way. I'll be surprised if someone would get lost it's a one-way and you'll meet many people
@@joshuabruton2243 I’m going solo in September. Though I have considered maybe taking a porter. I made the bad mistake of getting a ruck that weighs 8.5 pounds empty. Not sure how I’ll do with altitude so it may be a good idea to have someone to split the load with.
@@OridemicI did the EBC treck solo last year, you’ll meet many solos trekkers & groups along the way with plenty of tea houses, let me know if you have any gear or trek questions
@@Serg_RHi! I’m planning to do the trek without a travel company. My concern is do we have to book the tea houses in advance? I’m planning to go in March. Thanks!
@@starrshiified along the way they’ll be plenty of tea houses to choose from no need to book & its common to stay for free if you buy dinner ir breakfast there 👍
Congratulations on embarking on the adventure of a lifetime to Everest base camp! It's great that you're sharing your experience with us. I'm also preparing for a similar journey and your updates are really inspiring. Best of luck to you and sending like and support from Bangalore. ❤️
This is good .. except nepalese everyone will say no. Of course. Great move nepal.. this is for security reasons too. Plus its nepal and mountains no matter ppl will come.. lets go nepal
@@nirdeshacharyadixit7907 who has got lost? Maybe they had some drugs.....if there's offline map n villages on way.....why will u get lost ......r those kids?
People get lost in national parks all the time. Now we introduce you have to have a guide to go the the national park, great way to steal money nothing else.
Good idea, jobs for locals and a better experience for visitors. Win win. 😊
Absolutely!
Unless you don't want a guide and just want to go alone. Lose lose
Sucks
Boooooo

What do you mean by 'a good smoke'? I know what I mean when I say that lol 😏
Shesh bro.....watelse
Get a private guide instead of commercial one
For real? My friend just trekked EBC and didnt need a guide. She got her permit and had no issues at any gates.
This doesn’t apply to the EBC trek, as this new law doesn’t affect the Solokhumbu region of Nepal.
ive also read this doesn't apply for EBC, im heading there this November doing the trek SOLO Cant wait

Good Luck!
M from Bangalore....n going in couple of months.....guess il like it solo or typical trekkers.....if roads r not very confusing
I think that’s fair as it is in the best interest of the Nepalese people
It's misleading, Guide is not mandatory for EBC
Not applicable to Solukhumbu area where EBC and other great deatinations are found.
Isn't it only for solo trekkers?
Um yes
anyone climbing the mountain
Good!!
We're planning to do Everest base camp in 2025.. i wouldn't go without a guide.
Will you be travelling with us? :)
@thebucketlistcompany don't know yet, there's plenty to choose from 🙂 . I did download your EBC kit list and printed 4 copies. 👍🏻

Yep its great!
Certainly
:)
This is a bad idea. Suddenly you cannot go alone or as a couple. A guide may be nice to have, but is also breaking the privacy.
this just gave me the reason why i wont go there :D
Well congratulations
why? guides are great!
Yes guides can be great if YOU CHOSE TO HIRE ONE, not be forced to.
Not a good decision, it will doom their Tourism industry
good they are fucking it up
If you travel with us you'll have a guide anyway and there's great local guides
Lol no it wont
Need to ban climbing for a couple of years and coewn ghe mountains up.
Not true!
What for the true ? Tell me pease
Propaganda?
no you can check yourself!
Money. All they want is your money
Recently, a few solo travellers have gone missing and lost their life. I think it's for the safety of tourists. I think it's a good move.
We agree! Always good to have a guide with you to ensure safety and a better trip experience in our opinion!
