Which one has better versatility? I know that people say the Mate 20 pro is very versatile, but I haven't heard much about the Nokia 9. The battery life could be my only concern.
Peyton Howard I like the nokia9 pictures best... but ... the mate 20 pro is versatile ... video is better ... wide angle is handy as is the macro ... however if you shoot 28mm the Nokia is hard to beat.... but then again the mate 20 pro battery is hard to beat and does put the Nokia to shame in battery life and charging speeds

Still think the Nokia 9 is a more underrated device, especially in the camera department. Everyone usually talks about the Pixel 3 or the P30 Pro which is understandable because both have insane cameras but the Nokia 9 definitely stands out solely for its pretty accurate color reproduction. The Pixel 3 and P30 Pro tend to saturate colors while the Nokia 9 seems to stay neutral most if not all the time. If the Nokia 10 Pureview ever comes to fruition, Nokia should consider cutting back on the amount of cameras and instead put a near 1 inch sensor in it like they did with the 1020 and add a telephoto/periscope, ultra wide angle and TOF camera
Yes, Nokia pictures don't seem to be as saturated colorwise. I mean, it's from finland where half of the year it's basically dark outside. They just can't handle too much colors :)

I just got my Nokia 9 2 days ago (Nov.24), and the finger print reader works fine. About 95% of the time. Whenever it's acting up I just calm down and place my finger on the spot GENTLY. I never , ever press harder. Beautiful phone! Smooth as silk and it takes incredible shots. I love it!
@@talekardj there should be a dedicated toggle for fine tuning the focus just like before. If it is included in the autofocus ring that makes no sense.
@@alistergoh9744 camera is great , use it a lot and that snapdragon 845 and light fusion chip hit pretty hard ... took mine of charge this morning at 8am at 100% ... used spotify via 4g and bluetooth until i charged it , used facebook , took 100+ pictures , edited over 25 pictures with google photos and snapseed , made a 25 min phone call , by 230pm my battery was at 23% ... ouch .... i had used it a lot as a camera in that time though ... charge isnt the fastest ... took about 1hr 30 mins to get it back to fully charged ... however ... use it to read of the internet and watch youtube etc with low brightness and you can get solid screen on time with usage of about 10% every hour roughly ... it all depend on how you use the device ... if your outdoors in the sun using full brightness and hammering the camera and editing them files its going to get hard ;-)
Not at all. In fact, it's an embarrassing disappointment for Nokia coming off a camera phone killer like the Lumia 1020. Nokia dropped the ball big time.
@@headbangerdnb the lumia 1020 was not perfect just as the Nokia 9 is not perfect.... But they are both very good.... The lumia 1020 had 32gb memory and only o2 or Brazil got the 64gb model.... The 1020 processor also limited the camera and qualcomn again had to work miracles... Processing was also slow and please don't forget the yellow tint that plagued a lot of lumia images I had the lumia 1020 64gb version... I loved it.... I also love the Nokia 9
Good review. Nokia 9 PureView is an exceptional device, pictures are so true to life with amazing details. Little delay in fingerprint scanner is not a big issue and there's face unlock feature (it will not unlock with pictures, it uses the liveliness of the face to unlock the device). For far less price than other flagship devices it's great device to consider.
I think this device Nokia 9, is the “8 years challenged” of the Nokia N9 in 2011; that was the last of the serie N, and that had functions really awesome, and that created a starting point in the evolution of smartphones. How forget that was the first smartphone that did not have a physical button on the screen. I am so excited to see this device on the stores in my country and at least, touch it with my hands. I am an user of an iPhone 8 plus, but I have beautiful memories about my last Nokia device that was Nokia 3120 Classic. If Nokia is goint to look for a tester user, I would like to be a tester of Mexico. 🙌🏻🤩

The competition was tight between nokia and pixel here, oneplus and iphone were far behind but once you showed the raw files i understood what the phone is all about... those raw photos looks like they came out of a dslr.

I'm intrigued to know what firmware you're on and if it's any more recent than mine - I doubt it is, but if they're giving specific updates to review units then that would at least indicate something incoming. This is supposed to be an Android One device but I'm still on 1 April update right now, and I know they're bundling camera improvements into the updates so that might explain the delay, but I'd rather they didn't. I wouldn't even mind any of that if there wasn't total radio silence on the update situation from HMD on social media. I love the Nokia 9 for all its foibles, but HMD need to make more noise about supporting it.

I would research into why they stuck with the 845 man, they have reasoning. They spent quite a bit of time optimizing this setup for specific hardware, going with the 855 would have meant starting from scratch.
@@Conceptcreator the device was in development for ages , like before the s9 was released which was the first 845 chip phone , they either had to drop the phone or go through with it , they also have contracts with light to uphold and im sure a certain amount of devices was in that contract , nokia had to go with it , in the uk they released it at 550 pounds and thats very competitive in the phone market , for example you get a better spec phone than the pixel 3 which costs 800 pounds in the uk ... for me the nokia is a better pixel 3 ;-)
I think Nokia 9 Pureview should have been a 6-camera phone where the sixth one is the main camera or normal camera since I think there still a slot for another camera. So that when a person just want to take quick pictures and doesn't need to have very high quality pictures he/she can use the sixth camera
It's not helpful to compare 4 phone photos next to each other. Hard for the viewer to make out any difference looking at thumbnail size pics. That is when the reviewer needs to chime in his observations. Else it's useless.

I use a Galaxy S5 and use USB OTG to transfer photos from my camera card (Lumix FZ1000) to my phone to post on instagram, but I just bought the Nokia 8 and found out OTG doesn't support exFat.. 🤔 this has made it useless to me! Does the Nokia 9 Purview support exFat or is nokia letting the ball drop with all it's phone? Thanks in advance 👍
I think the battery life is awesome and the phone too this phone only cost me $650 AUD pretty good and if you put it on battery saver mode it lasts even longer.

@@MsMRkv The first Samsung with RAW picture was the Galaxy S7 in 2016 and it was not really good, Samsung always got lens and algorithm who made colors pop out too much too unreal so even the RAW was not good to edit.

I use and own a lots of phones since fixing them is a part of my job, after all my tests since the last 6 years, i think only Nokia pureview with Zeiss lens got true colors without saturation or overglow colors
This screen design and aspect is perfect, the phone design (mainly front) is superb, love it! Sadly the phone itself not that great. All I want is a phone with this front design and good speakers and a good selfie, no need for notches, holes... just give me this front design

I think the photo is good only when taken in the camera app and in good lighting. I agree about the battery, i get on average about 6 hrs of screen on with this phone.

It just amazed me that a camera centric phone using the old Nokia Lumia like camera UI still doesn't have manual focus in the pro mode.
It has auto focus in pro mode. Move slider to extreme left. I own Nokia 920, 950, 8Sirocco

Well you can take RAW pictures with Nokia phones since 2013 with the Nokia 1020... Wich other phone could do that in 2013 ??

Cool video, but for me... The price tag is too much. Back in March, there was a sale in the MTS store (Russian Vodafone). It cost 540$ and I'd buy one if I didn't miss the discount. Now I'd probably wait for the next year announcement. I want a flagship phone.

Still not the phone to slay others. Yes there is more you can do with the photos once taken but low light and processing time still suck.

"battery life not amazing" lol using at his maximum with internet , camera , and who knows how many background apps and it manages to last the whole day without any issue ,while a crap s10 barely can reach half of the day come on ...
