This album represents the beginning of what TØP has become! Josh's drums brought other elements to the music and took Tyler in ways other than Self-Titled! Amazing react as always!
Has really similar themes to stressed out, I love this song 😌💙 also a lot of people don’t like Regional at best because of the music quality but it’s important to remember that Tyler had lost his band after self-titled and just started off with Josh it’s awesome to see his growth!!
Not sure if it was meant to be this way. But I really relate to the “I put my socks on my feet just so that my soul won’t fall through my toes and I walk through my door just so I don’t fall through the floor”. For me I believe it’s because I have chronic OCD. Something as simple as putting on socks seems dire or like it’s needed so something bad doesn’t happen. Maybe this is misinterpretation, but it’s how I see it and how I can relate to it. Also with time going too fast and wanting to slow things down.. as a DPDR sufferer I also really relate to that feeling. Time goes wayy too fast.

I haven’t listened to this album as much purely through lack of availability but have heard it all & some are my faves (lovely & glowing eyes) are on it. It is interesting to see the basis of newer songs in these tracks (as in Tyler’s early stuff) I don’t think you’re going to re-react to the songs on here that you’ve done but maybe you could listen to them on your own & do a ‘sum up’ reaction??? It’s interesting to see the little differences in them to the newer recordings on Vessel. Looking forward to these! Hope you don’t have trouble with them being blocked. 😁😁😁
some if the songs are BOTH on regional at best and vessel but a little different and changed. also "trampoline so high we would reach for the sky but I DON'T LOOK UP ANYMORE and I don't know why" sound like March to the sea? "we don't look uo anymore or you'll get a rain drop in your eye, and heaven forbid they see you cry" (something like that) sound similar though? ;)

Same, it just feels like Tyler doesn't acknowledge this album and NPI. He barely does Self Titled. But yes I hope they remake this album! It's my favorite album from them and probably will forever.

@@dune6528 Tyler and Josh do acknowledge the album. It's not like they're not proud of their previous work. THE LABEL are the ones who removed it from and are very strict on anything relating to it.
@@poptarttss Actual its a bit of a mix of both. Fueled By Ramen was really only strict on RAB because it contained songs that they wanted to rerelease in Vessel. But Tyler has very clearly expressed his, at the very least, disappointed feelings towards the album. Without a doubt if Tyler and Josh wanted to remaster the songs that didnt make it, the label wouldnt object. However, my theory is that Tyler either doesnt have enough time for this in the current day or knows that there is a high chance that they could pour all this effort into remaking these songs that will, sadly, go unappreciated by the vast majority of mainstream fans.
At some point, you are going to do the Brooklyn Sessions and the Mutemath sessions, right? I know you are going in order now. Just don't forget to do those. They are special! If you did them and I missed them somehow, let me know where to find them. I looked on the playlist...

I like the RaB version of Trees better because of every 4th beat being doubled, but the Vessel version better because the vocoder on the RaB version is just a bit overdone, and I like the cleaner vocals on Vessel. IOW I listen to both versions regularly.
I'm honestly a not huge big fan of this album just because a lot of the mixing and everything was pretty poorly done and everything just sounded very demo-ish. That being said, this song is amazing, I love it so much

The production quality (or lack of) doesn't bother me at all! I think it is still fantastic and I agree, its awesome to see his growth.
