Love this song so much. The way I interpret "it ain't the speakers that bump hearts, it's our hearts that make the beat" is that he's saying music isn't something that just passively moves us, it's something created out of passion, love, and introspection. It moves us because it's born of being moved.
Your take on the kaleidoscope line is really interesting and cool. I always liked this song, but could never decipher that part, but you made a lot of sense and it just might be my favorite line in the song now 😂 Thanks
That’s one of my favourite things about Tyler’s writing - he’s very good at leaving it for you to interpret in your own way. A lot of his music is about his beliefs (& doubts) of God. I’m not religious but I get so much from even the songs that are heavily his search for god ( such as this one). For me I replace that entity with my own self. I’ve felt recently that ive been losing myself from always being there for everyone else, my identity is what i am to them not what I need for myself so sings like hoty, trees, & doubt really help me keep myself in my mind. I knew some songs were about him doubting his faith in god, but didn't know which ones and honestly holding onto you to me was about me fithing my dark thoughts, and sometimes them trying to eat me up, he is a wonderful songwriter because of that, how some of us interpreting it as kind of mental and emotional health, and he was refering to his faith the whole time, I'm not religious at all, I'm more agnostic than anything, and if I'm honest I don't think I would love their songs as much if he was mentioning christiany or god because I wouldn't relate to it, they're amazing.

If you can, please react to the live version at the Fox Theater. It's so good! Actually, all the performances at the Fox Theater are awesome. Fun Fact: The original title was called "Entertain my Faith". Tyler changed it to "Holding on to You" when he could not decide on a better title. While originally unsatisfied by the title, he has since grown used to it. "I remember the riff..." Joseph says while talking about the conception of "Holding on to You", "on the piano, on the keys. I'm very visual when I write music and I remember I accidentally jumped over a few notes when I was trying to figure out just the riff and I didn't think it worked. Then I listened to it again and actually the riff anticipates the chord progression in a really nice way and then I fell in love with it."
The live Fox Theater performance was a huge hit haha that continually comes up as a favorite. I will put that one on the list :) That is a very cool fact!
I look for reaction videos, cause I want people to be like, "wow!, what a line"... "that is such a good metaphor"... Yes the song is epic, but anybody can listen to a song, but not a lot of people can listen to the lyrics and understand the depth.
I appreciate it a lot that you also consider the lyrics! this way I know you actually listened to the song, the meaning instead of 'just' the sounds tbh
Great reaction fren. I have to tell you, my son had a good response for your riddle too.....he said what question can you never answer yes to??? he said are you asleep??? 🤪😂 Loving your thoughts. Keep up the good work!

Glad you found my favorite TOP song. This one got me into this group. Video is contemporary and beautifully done. Great commentary

Love your reaction videos! You're one of the only reaction channels I've seen that actually tries to analyze what the lyrics actually mean. Keep going!
I fought it a lot and it seems a lot Like flesh is all I got Not any more, flesh out the door? Swat! LOVE this part of the song, it reminds me of Romans 8:6 - For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 🙏🏻🤍
So the band ever since his first album with josh (regional at best) They were a local small band and they used to preform in small clubs in skeleton hoodies just to grab people’s attention, however, later it had meaning that like under your clothes and skin and all of that we all are skeletons and we all look the same, he used this brand as a theme for their song “my blood” as well
I don't believe in God. So I interpret Tyler's lyrics a little differently. For me, it is about holding on to yourself, and your hopes and dreams. Not losing these things that are most iimportant to you as you struggle daily. And I also wonder if this song has multiple meanings to Tyler. In a live session he talks about journaling, and where he was emotionally when he wrote this. He was pretty down, his band-mates had left, and his hopes and dreams seemed set to follow. But then there was Josh. Another shot at the dream. That's my take.
Great video! IMO Tyler's view on thinking is that while it does cause him to suffer, he realizes that it is necessary to think to lead a meaningful life. This is most precisely expressed in Car Radio: "It is faith and there's sleep We need to pick one please because Faith is to be awake And to be awake is for us to think And for us to think is to be alive And I will try with every rhyme To come across like I am dying To let you know you need to try to think"
you need to watch the video of this song live at the fox theater now!! tyler has said that songs can change meaning for him after playing them live a bunch of seeing hoe the fans react to them etc and i think the way he starts off this song live shows that the meaning doesnt just extent to god for him now... also i absolutely love the way you've been diving into the lyrics more now, definitely keep going with that, the lyrics are so so important with them i mean tyler says it himself in this song
A few other people have mentioned the Fox Theater performance so it is definitely on my list as well. Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support and kind words :)
I would say to listen and pay attention to the video first, then make a stop and look at the lyrics to confirm. When you take your eyes off the video to see the lyrics you might end up missing small details. Besides Tyler and Josh using the Skeleton hoodies in their concerts, (the Ode To Sleep music video is an example), in this video I believe the Squeleton face paint it's the demons/dark thoughts in Tyler's mind. Also, the fan base is called "The Squeleton Clique", and I believe that is due to the visuals of this video, since this was their first single. You might also want to watch a live performance of this song. The one in the Fox Theater is always a good option. As far as the breakdown, you pretty much got it. You gotta check out the music video for "Guns for Hands". That's one hell of a song.
Wow really? I did not know this was their first single. That is very neat and also makes a lot of sense about the Squeleton Clique. Yes Guns for Hands has been popping up in the comments a lot lately.
Fuck that noise, your specialty is lyrics, there is enough ppl out there blindly watching video clips and listening but you actually understand! It’s your specialty
The song is heavydirtysoul, I can name TOP songs pretty well, GREAT REACTION, love this song. Guns for hands is a good song to disect, although the lyrics are a givven its about how he relates to suicidal people, and gives them hope. 👍
first of all... whoever said don't concentrate on the lyrics... WHY. like the lyrics are literally everything. like yes, enjoy the song. enjoy the music. appreciate the heck outta josh and his amazing drumming. but the brilliance of tyler's lyrics? like don't stop reacting to them! just listening to the song and ending it with 'oh that's great' is not what, i mean okay i'm sure that's what some people like, but there are so many other reactors that do that. and with music like twenty one pilots? i feel like it's so much better when people breakdown and analyze the lyrics the way you do. also! i don't know if anyone said anything about this yet, but when i first listened to this song, i had no idea about the christian connotations of the songs yet, i immediately had to stop at the first verse because that line? "I fought it a lot and it seems a lot like flesh is all i got, not anymore, flesh out the door" i was like, whoa whoa whoa that is such a christian thing to say. at least in my church, there's a lot of talk about the flesh vs the spirit and the flesh is like the worldly part of you that wants to give into temptations and that succumbs to things like sin and darkness and dark thoughts that come about from depression. so like hearing that combined with the first part of that first verse "i'm taking over my body, back in control" i saw that as like him saying his taking back control to not give in to temptations of the flesh and not letting his dark thoughts control him. which is like what you said about him taking control back but also that line about flesh really like... idk it hit me different . obviously everyone has their own interpretations of the song but that was just how i saw that first verse also: for your riddle i was like "what's the opposite of yes" because you can't say the opposite of yes is yes lol. i mean you could but it would be wrong oh and! the lyrics at the end of the video is for heavydirtysoul
Someone in the comments described a lot of their songs as being a depiction between the angel and the demon on his shoulders, going back and forth, fighting for control and I thought that was so perfect. Especially for this song. I really love this song. Haha well I'd say that is technically right, you can't answer "no" to that. There are a lot more answers to it than I realized. Correct!
You should really check out the live version of the song We don’t believe what’s on tv.. lalapalooza in Chili. You will see just how international their music truly is...listen to the crowd!!!!
"Lean with it rock with it" is loaned from Dem Franchize Boyz: Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It (2006). Tyler appreciates lyrics which are deep. So maybe he is referring to the line before and then continuing, we were given the ability to think (so we could make better lyrics). IDK, this is my theory. Also, my theory is that the painted faces are the demons, so maybe sometimes he is the demon himself. Yeah, it could be anyone, who you are holding on to. *PS. I was thinking that the question you can never say yes to, is when you should say no. :D - The lyrics are from Heavydirtysoul.
Haha so was it kind of a jab at Dem Franchize Boyz for having essentially lame lyrics with not much depth? Ay that's pretty close! I am terrible at riddles

I cant remember if you've done Not Today, or not... but I think that you'll love the extension of this more hopeful side of Tyler... I feel like maybe you have, but idk. I love it. I think when it came to other people writing meaningless lyrics it tipped him too far by Blurryface which made him react and create Lane Boy. He said he went a bit out of character on Lane Boy, but just had to put his opinion out there.
Because that song is copyrighted immediately. Blocked and taken down. I haven't been able to figure out how to post it besides IGTV or something. I hope you’ve seen a live version of this. This is always a fave live especially!!
Heyyyy! That is honestly the best answer I have heard! He is right in so many ways haha what a smart cookie!
Thank you :) I am glad you are enjoying them!
Bro youre great, congratulations from Colombia. React to "A car, a torch, a death - Twenty one pilots"
Thank you!
Will do, I've got that written down
So the skeleton thing: One of their poems is "Time stands still, time stands still. There's a metaphor at hand, A metaphoric blast that only few will understand. Under clothes, under skin, underneath we're all the same, for when you remove the tricky tricks only skeleton bones remain."
Glad you found my favorite TOP song. This one got me into this group. Video is contemporary and beautifully done. Great commentary
Love your reaction videos! You're one of the only reaction channels I've seen that actually tries to analyze what the lyrics actually mean. Keep going!
I fought it a lot and it seems a lot
Like flesh is all I got
Not any more, flesh out the door? Swat! LOVE this part of the song, it reminds me of Romans 8:6 - For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 🙏🏻🤍
Haha I liked that part too, the "SWAT" was funny
I can relate to this song so much...once again it's good to know it's not just me who feels this way. Great reaction 👍
I'd love to watch videos of you renovating your RV on IG. That'd be cool.
So the band ever since his first album with josh (regional at best)
They were a local small band and they used to preform in small clubs in skeleton hoodies just to grab people’s attention, however, later it had meaning that like under your clothes and skin and all of that we all are skeletons and we all look the same, he used this brand as a theme for their song “my blood” as well
Ohhhh wow. That is so cool that something insignificant early on turned into a major theme!
You'll have to check out this one live, it's one of the highlights of the show.
Loving your Twenty One Pilots reaction videos. Another answer to your riddle is “Are you asleep?”.
I am glad to hear that :)
And yes haha I like that answer more. That was definitely more the answer I was expecting
Dude i gotta hand it to you this is really impressive! keep making these videos your amazing!
Thank you so much :) that means a lot!
Yes... Thank you so much Danny 💖.. your amazing 😍
Love this song. It is one of my favorites
Nice reaction, i loved it. react to holding on to you in the live room, its amazing
please react to the twenty one pilots FAQ interview, I feel like it really shows their friendship and its actually pretty funny lol
Tear In My Heart and House of Gold!
That's my take.
lyrics: heavydirtysoul- twenty one pilots
Great video! IMO Tyler's view on thinking is that while it does cause him to suffer, he realizes that it is necessary to think to lead a meaningful life. This is most precisely expressed in Car Radio:
"It is faith and there's sleep
We need to pick one please because
Faith is to be awake
And to be awake is for us to think
And for us to think is to be alive
And I will try with every rhyme
To come across like I am dying
To let you know you need to try to think"
Yes I agree, I love that song, one of my favorites!
you need to watch the video of this song live at the fox theater now!! tyler has said that songs can change meaning for him after playing them live a bunch of seeing hoe the fans react to them etc and i think the way he starts off this song live shows that the meaning doesnt just extent to god for him now...
also i absolutely love the way you've been diving into the lyrics more now, definitely keep going with that, the lyrics are so so important with them i mean tyler says it himself in this song
ALSO YAY HDS!!! that song actually also connects into the lyrics of this one as well when in the second verse!!
A few other people have mentioned the Fox Theater performance so it is definitely on my list as well.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support and kind words :)
CAN YOU SAVE
CAN YOU SAVE MY
CAN YOU SAVE MY
HEAVYDIRTYSOUL
Hello) React to fall away twenty one pilots ( Dr. Blum of MisterWives)
I'll check it out
Watch the live! Super fun to experience!
i like the HeavyDirtySoul Lyrics at the end lol
I am glad to hear it haha I hoped it'd be a fun addition to the videos
@@SuffiReax yes! I think ya should do that in all the reactions.
This song was originally going to be titled Entertain My Faith
i may be wrong but tyler only said that that’s what his family thought the name was, he wasn’t going to name it that.
It’s heavydirtysoul, and keep up the great video reactions.
Fuck that noise, your specialty is lyrics, there is enough ppl out there blindly watching video clips and listening but you actually understand! It’s your specialty
I thought the answer to the riddle was, "Are you lying?" or possibly, "Are you dead?"
Are you dead or are you sleeping I think would have been much better answers haha
The song is heavydirtysoul, I can name TOP songs pretty well, GREAT REACTION, love this song. Guns for hands is a good song to disect, although the lyrics are a givven its about how he relates to suicidal people, and gives them hope. 👍
You are going to be very good at the lyric game then!
That one will definitely be coming soon
Heavydirtysoul :) Great breakdown!
You got it!
&
Thanks!
first of all... whoever said don't concentrate on the lyrics... WHY. like the lyrics are literally everything. like yes, enjoy the song. enjoy the music. appreciate the heck outta josh and his amazing drumming. but the brilliance of tyler's lyrics? like don't stop reacting to them! just listening to the song and ending it with 'oh that's great' is not what, i mean okay i'm sure that's what some people like, but there are so many other reactors that do that. and with music like twenty one pilots? i feel like it's so much better when people breakdown and analyze the lyrics the way you do.
also! i don't know if anyone said anything about this yet, but when i first listened to this song, i had no idea about the christian connotations of the songs yet, i immediately had to stop at the first verse because that line? "I fought it a lot and it seems a lot like flesh is all i got, not anymore, flesh out the door" i was like, whoa whoa whoa that is such a christian thing to say. at least in my church, there's a lot of talk about the flesh vs the spirit and the flesh is like the worldly part of you that wants to give into temptations and that succumbs to things like sin and darkness and dark thoughts that come about from depression. so like hearing that combined with the first part of that first verse "i'm taking over my body, back in control" i saw that as like him saying his taking back control to not give in to temptations of the flesh and not letting his dark thoughts control him.
which is like what you said about him taking control back but also that line about flesh really like... idk it hit me different . obviously everyone has their own interpretations of the song but that was just how i saw that first verse
also: for your riddle i was like "what's the opposite of yes" because you can't say the opposite of yes is yes lol. i mean you could but it would be wrong
oh and! the lyrics at the end of the video is for heavydirtysoul
The song is Heavydirtysoul!
best song.
Good reaction..again! Have you done live concert of this video??!! It's great!!! P S put blocked vids on Instagram. Others do it.
I have not, but many have recommended the live!
Thank you!
- The lyrics are from Heavydirtysoul.
Haha so was it kind of a jab at Dem Franchize Boyz for having essentially lame lyrics with not much depth?
Ay that's pretty close! I am terrible at riddles
@@SuffiReax I'm not sure is he criticizing them. :D In some interview it is mentioned (I need to check it out). :) I usually suck at them too. :D
@@SuffiReax yes it is a jab at them.
Great reaction!
Heavydirtysoul
Thank you!

You got it!
Maybe he was gifting you the thoughts about his lyrics
Fun fact in 2011 this video was up for MTV' Best video by a new artist!! Anyway, great reaction...and agreed whoever told you not to pay attn to the lyrics so wrong..do your thing bruh!! II-//
Wow 9 years ago! Thats crazy.
Thank you :)
awesome song! can't wait to see your reaction!
Would love for you to do Fairly Local next!
Just recorded that one! It'll be coming out soon
Suffi Reax Awesome-I’ll be looking out for it👀
the light in my darknes right now are a coworker. Shes so perfect and i misse here everyday.
You should do a reaction for HOTY live , and heavy dirty soul live , and all of their songs! !
The TOP fans out here like "Gee, I sure wonder do who sang that." lol
I got so excited when I saw the song you were doing... its really hopeful. I cant remember if you've done Not Today, or not... but I think that you'll love the extension of this more hopeful side of Tyler... I feel like maybe you have, but idk. I love it. I wish I'd had this when I was struggling... but at least I can have it on hand for my kid. EQ levels though the roof in a world that glorifies the IQ and Narcissist Celebs.
IG can be just you sharing lyric sections of songs you've already heard or from these reactions that you've had a chance to acclimate to and sharing any new insight to them or something that moved you or anything like that. (BTW Canva is your best friend for IG)
Would it be weird to request a song from the 40s? I'd love to see *anyone* react to "Either Too Young Or Too Old" by Kitty Kallen (others sang it, but she's my fave) I just adore it, especially if you think about the times it was sung. No pressure tho. lol
Haha I figured any ToP lyrics would be a cake walk for the ToP fans.
I haven't done Not Today yet but it is on my list.
As for Instagram, excellent suggestion, thank you!
I will put that on my list just for you lol
@@SuffiReax Yay! Thank you!
*internal screaming*
If you havent done taxi cab by them i recmmend it but the live version by suris Xm is the best version just him and the piano
Heavy Dirty Soul. Love playing name the tune from the lyrics game.
The real challenge is to find a Twenty One Pilots song that “Flop.” Good luck! 😜
I am glad you do! Haha I was hoping it'd be fun
I know right, I am starting to feel like it is fruitless doing the bop or flop thing for anything 21 pilots related.
YESSS BACK WITH TOP
4:13 I pressed the like button, u killed that :D depresssssssing
Lol I figured some ToP fans would appreciate that call back
My favourite TØP song! Great reaction
lyrics at the end are from heavydirtysoul :)
Nailed it
Depresssssssssing thoughts, Migraine liked that
Check out anything by Muse, Supremacy, Knights of Cydonia, Uprising, Super massive black hole
Could you next react to the judge by top?
Btw, great reaction :)
Yes I will write that down!
Thank you :)
My favorite reactor
You should checkout the artist Aurora, she has amazing, enchanting vocals (especially live) You should check out The Seed live @ HAIK ITS POWERFUL. She was surprised with a male choir during it! its amazing
Sounds like it is right up my alley haha thank you
Suffi Reax Great :) hope you check her out!! she really is something special. Shes a 24 year old from Norway & She’s a very wise, pure soul & she puts it all into her music. I can’t even explain the impact she has on so many people, with her kind words & powerful music. her creativity is out of this world. inspiring and unique.
bro you should totally post about that rv on Instagram tho
Hey suffi hope you are doing good . You've probably have a lot of requests already so I don't want to add ... But maybe later on you could check out the album - twenty one pilots . Probably will have a few things to share on those songs. Anyways your work is much appreciated.
Thank you :)
I definitely plan to make it through every single one of their songs, so some may take longer than other but eventually I will get to each of them. Including that album
I think when it came to other people writing meaningless lyrics it tipped him too far by Blurryface which made him react and create Lane Boy. He said he went a bit out of character on Lane Boy, but just had to put his opinion out there.
Well I loved his out of character haha his opinion translated into song was excellent.
Heavydirtysoul!!!!
React to message man or Hometown please
you must wath live fox theathre of this song
Do HeavyDirtySoul!
Please react to March to the sea. It's one of their old song
Hey I'm thinking how you still didn't listen to Kitchen Sink by TOP :o
Because that song is copyrighted immediately. Blocked and taken down. I haven't been able to figure out how to post it besides IGTV or something. I even tried changing the pitch so maybe it wouldn't be noticed and it was still blocked while in the editing phase. So that is why you haven't seen it yet.
Nico is controlling him.
Oh dang. I's not dotted and t's not crossed could also be eyes not dotted (closed) and t's not crossed (loss of faith).
can you please react to bring me the horizon? any song from That’s The Spirit album (i’d recommend doomed, run and avalanche) sempiternal is also a masterpiece but yeah, i love them and i thind you’d maybe like them too!
If watching the video and reading lyrics on paper is a bit of a pain you could try the subtitles
Oh shoot that is really smart haha I never thought of that cause I have literally never used them on YT
Bro I wanted to see Taco Bell saga
How are you?
