In the world of Trench, DEMA is the place where the nine bishops reside and brainwash the inhabitants of Trench. With that in mind, the poppier sound is most likely DEMA attempting to make their message as widely popular. Inside the lore, I think they're being forced to sing this, the message of "you can do everything, go for it" it's not usually the type of message twenty one pilots gives. I think this album will change many things, with the excuse of the lore, the bishops are forcing Josh and Tyler to sing what they want.

This is what I'm going for. I'm not buying into half the proposed lore. I think this is primarily a break from Dema story. Yes i know, Dema org production, etc, Clancy is dead, Sai is propaganda (only meaning Psi is the logo). But that's it -I think it's just to say this is a break. They flipped everything upside down. Swapped places for photos. And added an ice dragon just because Josh thought it would be a cool addition for the drum kit. GoT influenced. Why not? They just rendered it blue because CGI is too much.
I have a simultaneously silly and serious theory... about The Hair™!! Specifically, those two little Princess Leia wannabe blobs! In all seriousness, though, consider the following. Tyler has a newborn/year old toddler too young to be vaccinated against Covid. Even if he could go out and get a haircut, lots of folks famous and not are waiting and growing it all out. The lore runs deep with this new record Scaled and Icy. This record is sponsored by and made in conjunction with DEMA (the promotional art even says that DEMA is behind the record). In the world of Trench, DEMA is the place where the nine bishops reside and brainwash the inhabitants of Trench. With that in mind, the poppier sound is most likely DEMA attempting to make their message as widely popular. This may all sound like nonsense, but by going to the twenty one pilots reddit and doing some work to uncovering the lore, it will really heighten your enjoyment for the band and all their songs.

In the christmas song image they sneeked "Sai is propaganda" (Scaled And Icy).
Inside the lore, I think they're being forced to sing this, the message of "you can do everything, go for it" it's not usually the type of message twenty one pilots gives. Even at th start of the clip you can see how Tyler is not excited for singing. I think this album will change many things, with the excuse of the lore, the bishops are forcing Josh and Tyler to sing what they want.
also, there's no |-/ in the branding, which is their anti-Dema symbol

This is what I'm going for. I'm not buying into half the proposed lore. I think this is primarily a break from Dema story. Yes i know, Dema org production, etc, Clancy is dead, Sai is propaganda (only meaning Psi is the logo). But that's it -I think it's just to say this is a break. They flipped everything upside down. Swapped places for photos. And added an ice dragon just because Josh thought it would be a cool addition for the drum kit. GoT influenced. Why not? They just rendered it blue because CGI is too much.
I have a simultaneously silly and serious theory... about The Hair™!! Specifically, those two little Princess Leia wannabe blobs! In all seriousness, though, consider the following. Tyler has a newborn/year old toddler too young to be vaccinated against Covid. Even if he could go out and get a haircut, lots of folks famous and not are waiting and growing it all out. For all we know Rosie loves it, too! Until or unless he says anything about it there's of course no way to know for sure. Maybe it's just another way to reinforce the idea of throwing one's modesty by the wayside and not caring what anyone thinks, but I think that's going in way too deep. It wouldn't surprise me for a second if it was just so that his daughter could giggle at daddy when she sees him on the TV screen! LOL Anyway, so glad you reacted to this. In the lore of 21 pilots, most of the songs in the album is propaganda for DEMA, but this one isn't propaganda for DEMA.

The logo is a weapon called sai which are initials for "scaled and icy"... and recall in LEVEL OF CONCERN video tyler put his fingers to his face one finger on each side of his nose making the 3 lines. And in christmas video a wrapped present said "Clancy" AND MORE IMPORTANTLY hard to see but on that wrapping paper in highlighter pen written ""Sai is propaganda".. so album and 5-21 livestream are propoganda for Dema. (Check out the livestream announcement poster.. lots of stuff in that poster. Read the fine print at bottom of poster.) .

I noticed that at the very first scene, Tyler looks towards the symbol, the scene cuts, and just shows Tyler thinking, excluding the symbol on the wall. I think it represents hope, power, and motivation, as from there, it kick-starts him into singing the song.

In short, I think they're trapped in Dema and being forced to make upbeat music, but they're trying to interject themselves in there..trying to escape or send us messages. At the end it looks like they're trapped in a television. There's a bunch of neon....which might relate to the bishops.

The new logo if you turn it to the side the top looks like and E and the line goin through it is up so it stands for East is Up also the new album is called Scaled and Icy which is an anagram for Clancy’s is dead!! If you have seen the new album cover it’s completely different to all the other ones it’s more bright and I I don’t why but first I was thinkin like is it supposed to be misleading or kinda like propaganda as in is Dema or Blurryface forcing Tyler to make it seem like everything is okay and that it’s all fine and to lure people in....but now I have a lot of other thoughts so I’m not 100% sure at this moment

In one of the scenes we see a statue behind them (near the gas station) that is identical to the statue that appears in nico and the niners. The dragon seems to be a kind of guardian. Clearly tyler is not happy and is being manipulated in the video.
