OK, I'm gonna have to send you an email full of recommendations for kids. Salt Magic is an absolute gem. It won an Eisner and yet not enough people know about it. Oh, and the recent adaptation of Watership Down is phenomenal.
Reading Order is: Comics i know Friends are reading, who also ordered from the Direct site (so I avoid spoilers and to be ready for fresh discussion), whatever my Comic Club is reading because i run it and it'd be awkward if i don't do the prep, comics i'm thirsting to read, trades i've taken a chance on because i like the creator and the 2nd volume of the trade is up for pre-order on the Direct site, stuff i want to read but will inevitably end up in an ever-growing "To-Be_read" pile in favour of comfort reads or crying reads depending on my mood.
Ugh totally agree that the Joker has been way too overused at the moment. Bring back the days when he was just some clown guy fr! Also, certain states leaning more Marvel or DC is so fascinating to me and something I’d never even considered before??? (Up the Maroons, I guess…?)
I usually read one I’m super keen on first then a couple of others that are still good but I’m not super excited on then another one I’m really looking forward too and just keep following that pattern.
For people who don't know what they want to read, but would like to try comics, i point them at DC Pride 2022: The New Generation. Gives them exposure to a lot of really great creative talent, characters, artstyle and shows snippets all the different realms of the DC Comicverse. I've gotten really positive feedback from my Comic Club when we covered that one and the friends outside that i've foisted that book upon. Otherwise Tim Drake was my gateway into DC Comicbooks, so any book featuring him (excluding the dark era of 2011-2015).
8:49 I literally had the same conversation recently! Bring back holograms. I also managed to pick up the last couple of Fatal Attractions hologram covers recently. Also, there are some really geeky interesting videos about how holograms are made. It's an interesting method! Yeah I went down that rabbit hole for a bit.
I usually read the ones that I'm most interested in first. I share comics with others, so sometimes i read the wanted ones so i can share it fast. My children all love your One-piece comics. What about the comp winners?
I read my most anticipated comic then all the others sit on my desk until I get my next months direct then I need to cram read all of last months, rinse and repeat
I read the quick ones first and deep dive into the ones I love last, to take my time. Love it that way. But sometimes I read lots of quick fire ones then the great ones I'm looking forward to build and build. Hahahahaha

Noice!
For the kids, anything by Garth Ennis. Can’t go wrong.
Crossed? It's like a historical Drama!
Or DC people are SMARTER! 🤓
They are something....
@@comicsetc5788 🤣
Also .. Patient, and better looking.
Yes! Please keep doing this on your channel. ❤
You got it!
Thanks for the suggestions
We try!

Spoilers play a HUGE part in it for me too! I will have to tell a funny story on the show about it one day....
Thanks for the heads up about the Geoff Johns book. Just ordered it. 😊
It is really good too!

Yet Marvel Stadium is in Victoria!
For me, I start with ones i'm not that keen on at the top of the pile and work towards the ones i'm super keen on at the bottom.
Looks like no one starts at the bottom!

That works!

Compilations are a really good idea actually! Never thought of it!

I am going to email the big 2 actually, let them know the world is ready for another batch of lenticular or holograms

We shall post that extra snippet tonight!
@@comicsetc5788 All good. Keep up the great work.
Due to memory issues I wait till a story is finished before I read it. My order just goes with the book that has the most issues backlogged.
Its good if the enjoyment is still there though!
Great video! Did you... announce the winners of the competitions?
We shall post tonight!

hahahah! That's funny! Procrastinating recreational reading!
8:03 that Miller cover was an abomination. I still bought it though 😂
YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

So you flick first to see how many words per issue?
@comicsetc5788 yes. Yes I do. Like Rain Man (since that's a movie, you may not get the reference)
Was the close up on James' kness necessary?
I think the whole world kneeds to see them. BOOM TISH
@@comicsetc5788 I like a good pun, so we can table this conversation for another day
3:16 the legs again!
Gotta show those pins!
A question for a future show....what are the absolute worst selling Marvel and DC titles of the month? Thanks 😊
