There is soooooo much work to process large inventories
as we have a million A-Z plus 2-3 million in our unprocessed warehouse.
If those were back issues, I would’ve loved to seen the wall books

First signature I ever got on a comic was when we first moved up here and Sinnott was signing at the civic center. Seems like a “mega” score for books in my opinion .

Great video, Gary! A lot of great books in there. A good mix of direct and newstand copies. Is that Secret Wars 1 a blue Galactus error version. I knew about them through some other videos on RUclips and went through my copy the other day, and was glad that is was the error print. Thanks for sharing the books with us and your process!

Wow I don’t think that guy had no idea what he had! It’s incredulous to think he claimed to have no time to through the bins. That’s part of the business. Certainly you had no problem going through it. That fully explains the low sales in back issues. This is why I feel some LSC struggle because people get into it not knowing how much effort and time it takes. Good for you Gary, you have a relentless work ethic. 👍

I guess a term you could use from sports cards, instead of “junk,” maybe refer to them as “commons.” Basically, books that fill runs, but have no key significance what so ever.
I have a beat up book with a Werewolf by Night #12 cover and the interior book is Defenders #11.

As a kid I excitedly bought Teen Titans 3 at store and somehow didnt open it until I got home. It was a Fantastic Four issue….and not a good one.
You mentioned the store was from a more rural area. Seems it might be possible to find more newstand copies in such areas?

I'd say with near certainty it's a certain shop, in a certain town called Rhinebeck.

In 1982 I bought the store stock of a store got my out of business...~ 38,000 comics, 95% Marvel/DC superhero from basically 1965-1982 with multiple copies from that age run on the major titles. I was a young guy a year and half out of college and took a gamble to vastly improve collection and for trade stock
Moved 15,000 in bulk within two weeks as already had a friend lined up that knew would want for flea market business. I paid about what you did for this huge collection and had fun over years with it...hard work organizing...
