I don't know what else could be said about that unboxing but just WOW. Not only 1 but 2!!!! 2 Amazing Fantasy #15 and who cares the label color it's just amazing history not to forget there was an ASM #1 also that was a 5.0. Just insane. Ray has just so many amazing books and his passion is also priceless.
Great presentation Gary. Thanks again for all you do. Kudos to ERod, best in the business and a great guy. The books really do look Amazing. AF#15 in all grades is a special book. And a worthwhile investment. Better then owning stock as it just keeps going up in value. Like fine art, it can be viewed, shown to and shared with friends and family and will be part of history for a long time.
For me, and perhaps most, on these keys, paper quality encased isn’t as important. When it’s one of these big boys, just having one would trump any page color problems!

Just wow my friend just recently picked up his copy of AF 15 and his is missing a little triangle in bottom right but still got a 2.5... he is so proud of that book I personally will likely never have any of those 2 books but the feeling of holding one of those books makes ur knees shake and buckle almost... ❤️

Very Gerry, watching your video makes me think I will probably never be able to get my last 5 grail books TMNT#1,Cerebus#1, X-Men#1, Amazing Fantasy#15 and Batman#1 1940 cause they cost so much much but maybe I might be about to get a TMNT#1 2nd printing and X-Men#1 1963 but if not what other books can i get cause I already have all the keys I want from the modern age and AMS#129 CGC 5.0 so my question is what do i collect now cause the only big modern keys I don't have is Ultimate Fallout#4 and Walking Dead#1 so Gerry what do I do know since I have all the modern keys like New Mutants #98,Batman Adventures #12,X-Men#266,AMS#300,Ams#361,and all the other modern keys? So is there any keys worth getting for $2,000 or should I just keep saving up?

GREAT VID!! My question is how was your grading cost only $1000 for books which conservatively are over $85,000?? My experience has been CGC adjust the expense if books sent in obviously under valued. A 25k book alone would have been over $700...just wondering. Peace.
CGC has graded approximately 3,500 copies of AF#15. Unknown how many raw copies still exist but likely probably a lot less then have been graded to this point. 50% 3.5 or higher, 25% 5.0 or higher, only 10% 6.5 or higher, and only 20 copies 9.0 or higher.
Gary, $1,000 grading cost appears to be a good deal even tho cgc charges 3% FMV... Does cgc charge 3% FMV for them RAW and if so, where do they get that price since RAW prices vary considerably..... That Spidey #1 grading cost alone is almost $1,000 ($900=3%x30k)...??.. I take it you may be able to deal with cgc on the grading costs.....

Hoping to have some explanation as to the cost of walk-thru books ahead of time before getting surprised by the credit card charge from cgc upon receival. I heard that you could negotiate with them, but was wondering what that fee was for comparison. Gary mentioned on another video that he was going to start full disclosing all costs.....

There’s something different about seeing a purple label for AF15. Like it doesn’t matter at all like it does for other books.
Trouble is the average collector will never be able purchase these books, but at least we can live vicariously thru your videos...thanks Gary!!!
Michael, there´s still plenty of reissues, fac similes and foreign variants to work with. Waaay cheaper, and still brings up life in any collection

I've defend them adjust books too. No idea how these got by with only $1000 in fees.

I think he was talking about the SHIPPING/INSURANCE cost, since that is the only invoice that comes in the package.

AF #15 2.5 $35k + ASM #1 5.0 $25k + AF #15 4.0 $30k = $90k surely?
how much did the guy pay for each of the books raw?
The AF15 2.5 was traded for way back in the 60's. The other AF15, ASM #1 plus an ASM #2 were purchased together about 30 years ago for about $3k
