I too print my photographs. Nothing is so satisfying than doing the final step of photography. It is the product I am going for. I hope I can get a A2 printer some time. I am also working on a book. It is always nice to look at photographs on a printed form.
Thanks Ruud and I agree with your points. Printing can be very rewarding and a book is a great way to show some of your work. Good luck with it I’m sure it will turn out great.
I gave up on trying to print my own abt 20 years ago, disappointed with cost & quality. But seeing this video has me wondering wether to give it a try again. That small robin does take an already lovely photograph to another level. Great video, easy to listen to.
Hi Anthony, thanks very much for watching and for your nice comment. It's great to hear that my video has made you consider doing some printing. It takes some time and there are costs to consider but ultimately it can be rewarding. Good luck if you give it a try.
Always appreciate your perspective and, I think printing is a great way to witness your work. I'd like to know why you chose Canon over others and the cost associated with printing those sizes such as at 8:47 time code. That looks to be an 11x 17. What is cost you invest in paper and matting? Thanks again for sharing this!
Hi and thanks for for watching and your comment, I’m pleased that you enjoyed my video! Printing is definitely a worthwhile endeavour but costs can add up so it’s important to think about that too. I chose my Canon printer after researching to find something that suited my needs. I also was able to see some sample prints before purchase which convinced me it was the right printer for me. As for the cost of mounting and the print itself there isn’t a price which would be the same for everyone as there are a number of factors. I tend to spend quite a lot and use more expensive mounts and paper - I could spend considerably less but that wouldn’t achieve what I want. Some different designs of mount are more expensive so I’m sometimes more. There are of course what I’d call hidden costs - travel or postage to purchase the parts, time, printer maintenance uses ink, test prints, the costs involved with capturing the image, other products I use when mounting and framing etc etc. It’s a fairly complex area and costs vary depending on your requirements.
