Sonic Islands SAGE 2018 Demo - All Chaos Emeralds + Pedestals Walkthrough

- Some people seem stuck with this, so here's a quick walkthrough that shows all of the locations of the Chaos Emeralds that give you new moves and the pedestals that power-up some of those moves. To the best of my knowledge, this is all of them. I also show off getting 50 Flickies, which are required to pass the two gates at the end of the level, which hold the Purple and White Emeralds.
If there are any other Emeralds, Pedestals, or worthwhile secrets I should know about, let me know.

You missed at least one pedestal. It's in the pit at the very beginning. There is a small gap in the wall you can roll through.

What chaos emerald does that 4th pedestal upgrade? Blue,Cyan, or White?

Holy shit, I never expected to see a fan game on par with or even better than Sonic Utopia! The animations and physics look so fluid, and the lack of boost is replaced with functioning momentum. Love this project!

I think you mean plays amazing. The current state of the map looks unpolished, with a fair amount of edges making things look a bit unnatural. It's passable since this is a big map.

This seems like Sonic Lost World 2.
The spindash,parkour, and mix of classic and modern graphics points to this fact.

This demo gameplay actually has some really cool animations and it’s graphics are impressive too.
this did the one thing sonic had been missing the whole time gave him agility options all the new sonic games felt more and more like they were forgeting he was a platform and just thought GOTTA GO FASTER was the key but speed and agilty plus a proper use of momentum complementing each other this game looks like it controls beautiful

The fact that the homing reticle makes the Sonic 2 title screen twinkle noise is good stuff
I love how a blue glowing orb shows what you're targeting, way better than the red reticle.

@@VTH223 im not pretty sure, i think people are also making some new engines other than Bumper Engine but i know that 2019 (this year) is going to be bad for Sonic, because.... ya know..... the fricking sonic movie coming in november 8.....

I found all these as well, it seems really weird that we can't find a seventh emerald. And you'd think there'd be a pedestal for every emerald in the game. I wonder if it's just really really well hidden?

They're making full games instead of one-level demos which (almost) never become full games
Although I don't know why Sega haven't hired any of the fans who made the few complete (or almost complete) Sonic fangames (like Sonic Robo Blast 2)/mods (like the Dreamcast Conversion for Sonic Adventure DX)/hacks aside from the Mania team.

Adventure had multiple characters with their own different stories. I don't see any of that here. Plus technically the Adventure games were pretty linear too. Maybe a few levels were at the right angle you could spindash jump over large segments but never this open.

Should Sonic be open world like this demo? It really fits the style
This makes me want a Metroidvania Sonic game. Imagine running around high speeds to find the chaos emeralds while also fighting bosses as you explore. I think that’d be pretty fun. Only problem is it’s not really a sonic game at that point.

Which button do you press to put an emerald on a pedestal? Is it the E key,the left mouse button, or other than those two?
Not sure what it is on Keyboard, I play using a PS4 controller. It's the Triangle button there, though the Triangle button does not have any other function as far as I know.

This is the thing. With fan games like these, it just goes to show how sonic fans can make a better game the Sega THEMSELVES. I’d rather buy this game then forces. Sega really needs to hire fans like these to make better games.

I don't believe it exists here. The Emeralds are used to give you new abilities in this game, not to give you Super Sonic.

Better than the adventure formula.
It essentially IS the Adventure Formula. Just more refined and controls a tad different, it even has the same spindash, homing attack and a style of the bounce bracelet with (emerald) upgrades. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 is the closest we have officially gotten to 3D Classic greatness.
Don't bash Adventure it was the complete step in the right direction and should've been refined more by Sonic Team. But they tried changing it up too much too soon and then unfortunatly flopped it with 06.
Just imagine, if it was different and instead we remembered Sonic 2006 as _"Sonic 2007"._ How different would things be.
We need the Adventure/3D Classic style back. And Sonic must evolve and go beyond even that to become the titan he once was in the gaming/platformer market and reach his full potential. And this is just gameplay.
You are completely right, but i think this playability is most like Sonic Lost World.
Well, it takes an excellent _potential_ mechanic from Lost World, The Parkour System. Unfortunately, Lost World messed this up horribly, and Lost World controls nothing like the Classics or even Adventure. Lost World, takes an almost Mario Galaxy approach to terrain and level design but even worse. Sonic has no real weight to him, his Spindash is a nerfed Boost, the Bounce he does is weak and kills all flow and he can only do it 3 times. And the Wisps are somehow worse than Colours, and I believe Colours didn't execute the Wisps all that well to begin with.
It is a real shame, because if Lost World followed a refined and improved Sonic Adventure style of play (Sonic), mixed with the Parkour System and more with brilliant and unique level design. It would easily be one of the best Sonic games mechanically and technically ever made. It could be an evolution of the series.
This demo, does has similar aesthetics to Lost World, indeed, but is actually drastically different from it. In terms of Control, Physics, execution of Mechanics and Level Design and terrain.
Yeah, is pretty different, but still reminding me more Sonic Lost World, than the adventure games.
Glad you are seeing what I am saying, and I understand your perspective due to how it is very close to Lost World interms of aesthetics, artstyle and sound effects.
This applies the enemies present in this demo too, the motorbugs here would give that idea. (though Adventure 1 had badniks and so did later levels of Adventure 2.). Same with Sonic's model - minus the shoes and spin animations.
So I see why on first glance it would give the impression of, "Hey, this reminds me of Lost World."
But with further inspection and a deeper look. It is very close the Classics and Adventure games.
The scaling sucks sonic should not look so tiny compared to his environment.

This game sucks, with feracious, a great annoying Sonic game, frustranting, there's no tutorial, no controls menu, the explications are generic and the final part is Just an wide field with nothing interesting, i reconigze the efforts from the creator, but there's a lot of Sonic mods that are much more fun and that gives more pleasure to play, my rate for this game is 3 for the efforts

But the central problem lies in the difficult in execute the comands, that was my great problem with this game. If the project goes on, i wish the creators would make a tutorial, for God sake
