I'm just a random South African guy watching a random British bloke experience the creation of a mad scientist on shrooms. So just another Friday night.
beauty of RUclips
Holy crap when I saw the unseen I was like NOOOO WAYYYYYYYY. I love this album and this guy. Perfect mix
i know i was looking at the post with the two colors like wtf
but this upload made me shit
Also since you mentioned Q-Tip, The Low End Theory would he another recommendation
second this
@@dangerousd1312 More like 55th this but I got you haha
this is an absolute must
Do Piñata by Freddie Gibbs & Madlib!!!
It’s my favourite album ever
Yes!
YES he needs to listen to that album, it's soo awesome
Vouch
I feel like he did pinata but i could be wrong
you should check jaylib- champion sound. its j dilla and madlib rapping over each others beats
Second this
3rd 4th n 5th!
Madlib actually has a few jazz / jazz inspired albums! He was given access to the archives of Blue Note Records and made an album called 'Shades of Blue'. He made a jazz tribute album for Weldon Irvine called 'A Tribute to Brother Weldon'. He also has 'Angels Without Edges' which is a jazz album under one of his alias, 'Yesterdays New Quintet' where he plays all the instruments himself but credits them to fictional people... love your reactions man!
I definitely need to check out Shades of Blue!!!
@@mercurialno6 Please do, it’s an amazing experience!
Fun fact: This album came about on a Magic Mushroom trip while in his studio. Madlib didn't like his rapping voice so he pitched down the beats and rapped over them only to pitch them back up. Too bad he "doesn't fuck with Quas anymore".
OMG YOU REVIEWED MY FAVORITE ALBUM WITHOUT ASKING
Slum Village: fantastic vol.2 !!!
J dilla: welcome 2 Detroit
J Dilla: ruff draft !!! Please U won’t regret it
Listen to The Avalanches - Since I Left You. Purely made of samples and is amazing
YES! this is the right suggestion for him
I really hope he listens to this, one of my favorite albums oat
Their recent album took me by surprise. Gold Sky on repeat.
Perfect suggestion for him
One of my favorite albums of all time. I find it to be so consistent, as every single song is enjoyable for its own reasons while still tying together phenomenally
Agreed
This is my number 1 favorite album of all time. I will almost never get tired of it. It's essentially a surreal cartoony like world with pychedelics, humour, amazing production and a sense of magic and also a hint of just pure surrealism and weirdness. It's a shame not many people actually know about it since its easily one of most creative and best hip hop albums ever.
Same been my favorite since I first heard it in 2009
2:10 This is exactly what he's doing. All while on mushrooms.
YES YES YES YES YES!!! I wanted you to review this so badly this is amazing! Imo this is one of the most underrated hip hop albums, it’s so cartoonish and atmospheric and it’s amazing.
8:25 mannn this vibe was crazy, I was sitting across the computer screen just feeling the vibe head rocking just as hard as he was. Keep up the work M6!!
Every time I hit a bong I'm now gonna think of 'A Shetlend Pony Running on a Kellogg's Cornflakes Box' 14:55
This made my day
This is one of my favorite albums of all time, every genre. Madlib on a mushroom trip what could be better?
I love the cover art for this album
One of my favorite rap album covers ever
Madlib recorded this album on a week long shroom binge so youre right about his mind being everywhere
"The selective approach provides the essential conditions for creative freedom." Words to live by...
you made the album experience even better with your guitar. this might be your best video
Finally it has come!!! Much love from Los Angeles!
One of my favourite albums of all time! Madlib on his greats!!
Man I would literally pay you to request reactions, you would be the first one I would pay in order to react to something.
I keep saying he should get a Patreon...
He should just post his cash app and he will be on the forbes list in mere seconds
I make hip hop music and I would really love this man to drop a reaction video to my Ep
Check out the song Axe Puzzles, it's on this record but was dropped for vinyl pressings. The bass is so physical on that, it's special.
My favourite from this album
WORD! Plus all of the Bitches Brew references are so vibey
Oh and he also needs to listen to Discipline 99 Pt. 1. That’s another song that got cut from the vinyl track list
@@danfaitz2385 yep 2 of my favorite tracks
This album had me zoned out for a whole summer.
I had to pull over when I heard that at 19:20. I was thinking “wtf is that I don’t remember that” then I seen you playing. That was dope haha
Oh my god, IT'S HAPPENING!
You fr should get a Patreon, it doesn't feel right enjoying all this kickass content (with so much effort going into the editing and experience) without getting the chance to offer something in return lol
Love this channel and everything about it
The quality of these is outstanding. Always.
blessed again mercurial!! thank you
Nice!! I discovered Quasimoto fairly recently and I thought to myself: "Mercurial No. 6 should react to this". As always, thanks for the video!
HOW DID I MISS YOUR REACTION TO MY FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME
With every video you just get better and better.
Damn, I got this album on my list. Imma go listen to it now and come back
So glad I get to watch a proper producer listen to the beauty that is Quasimoto’s work
very glad you chose this record to listen to, classic.
love this record. Please review Voodoo by D'Angelo next!
The video I never knew I wanted you to make. THANK YOU for doing what you do.
Thsi is the album reaction we need but never wanted.
classic album. haven't listened to it since three years thou
i needed this badly
About time I got so hype when I saw the album cover
Classic album with an amazing video
I need it on vinyl
I love it man. Great way to start the week. I appreciate you British man
oh Shittttt
this is one of the greatest albums OF ALL TIME
Also... Shades of Blue from Madlib where he only uses samples from Blue Note records
This guy is _Whyold!_
Yo! You’re a G for this one. The unseen is an incredible album.
this is one of my favorites of all time. Great vid as always mercurial
I clicked on this so fast. You’ve been showing classic hip hop albums a lot of love recently. Keep up the greatness! I fkn love this guy no homo
That 'loop digger' part took me back. Ironic
One of my fav albums ever
CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR THIS
thank u to reacting to this.
Omg yes I requested this a couple times not really expecting it to be done ! Thanks u sir
Madlib did use a lot of samples from the movie Fantastic Planet in that album... Adds to the weirdness
Another great album choice and reaction/analysis. No matter what project you dissect it’s enjoyable. I’m so happy that your channel is almost to 100k!
“You got to watch out for those money hungry bitches” 😂
Make a Patreon! I'd love to support your work, you put in a lot of work & deal with a lot of slack and criticism. I found you some time ago and it's been a great trip!
You should
Do Wu Tang first album!!
the editing and your setup always gets better and better, but i’m missing when you unbox the vinyl 😭
The audience retention stats would shock you! I lose 40% of the audience within 16 seconds. I only have 7% of people watching during the end section (my 'review' bit) of the video. Imagine how bad it was when I dwelled on the unboxing of the vinyl! Ha ha! It's quite sad really. Ultimately I'm trying to get these videos down to around 6 - 11 minutes long. You can see that I'm struggling! Ha ha!
@@mercurialno6 that’s a shame man, you still killing it with the video regardless
Well, it's a battle that everyone has here! I'm no different! In fact 7% at the end is probably quite good! :-)
Your videos are just great, i love it, another Madlib recommendation would be his first hip hop group, Lootpack and their album Soundpieces: Da Antidote
Wow. I am so ecstatic you decided to do this album. Madlib is one of my favorite artists. When I saw your post earlier I was a little sad when you confirmed you weren't going to be doing Frank Ocean like everyone thought but as soon as I saw the notification for this video that all went away instantly. Another project you might enjoy is his album "Shades of Blue: Madlib Invades Blue Note" where he uses his sampling prowess to take on the Blue Note record catalogue. Anyways love ya man, thanks for the amazing videos.
Holy shit you are one of the few people on this site who I've watched that acknowledge this albums existence
Im going to pretend this came about from my suggestion lol but seriously I love this album and this mercurial man
I see Lord Quas has blessed this entire comment section.
Thanks again for the ride, mr. Six
Top 3 hip hop albums for me.
Since you reacted Nas, I'd recommend reacting to his arch-nemesis Jay Z. The album would be Reasonable Doubt
RD over The Blueprint?
@@ozzymandias8137 It is much better imo
@@ozzymandias8137 Mediocre songs like Girls, Girls, Girls and 1 or 2 other kinda ruin Blueprint for me
Yeah fair enough, RD is def tighter but I think TB is more well-rounded in variety of subject matter and production. Idk they’re my 2 fav Jay albums so I’d take either
@@ozzymandias8137 I'd say variety in production goes to RD - you got kinda late 70s and early 80s pop sound, 80s and early 90s R&B type beats and you also got the dark NY aesthetic with Preemo on the beats
A reaction to Common's "Be" would be highly appreciated :) stay safe and keep up the great content!
i love ur energy so much. i hope when i get a lil older im like you
I liked the vinyl opening as someone who listens to music mostly digitally you should take a poll to see if people want that or not (assuming people complained about it and that's why you didn't show off the vinyl case)
The majority of people don't care. It only took me over 120 episodes to realise! :-)
@@mercurialno6 dang I really enjoyed it oh well. Keep up the good content mate
@@mercurialno6 I actually enjoy it cuz I'm broke and I can't listen to sh!t on vinyl
Now I know why the Blonde confusion happened
I wonder if Quasimoto was a part of the inspiration behind Frank's track title
I've been waiting for this one.
Hell, I wanted to send you this album.
beats by madlib, performed by lord quas.
the goated duo
MUSIC COMES FROM HERE
dopeee reactionnn. was just gonna say when u listen to kanyes debut the college dropout the whole thing isn't on the vinyl like all the skits and stuff it's probably gonna be better to stream it you'll actually get to listen to the whole thing properly.
that thing u said about music being a time machine is sooo true literally before watching this i watched tic tok and the song on it took me back to the days i used to spend at my uncles house while the radio was playing on the tv when i was younger.
Love this album so much, I just got the limited press on pink and purple discs and it sounds really good
Kool.and the gang the little children
Oh damn I should've known this was the tease!
I love your content man and your reaction and expressions make me appreciate the music even more. I was made aware of the fact that you aren’t paid for any of this and I hope that you make a patreon so I can support you any way that I can. Thanks for doing what you do!
Love you Bad - Terrace Martin
Phenomenal soundscape. Only a single but still fantastic sounds.
Wow! A classic, I had no clue I'd get this today, made my day way better!
Underrated video!
ASTROWORLD !!!
Wow this was an unexpected treat!
Love this album, hope you do the follow up some day too!
Oh, and Run the Jewels! Run the Jewels should be right up your alley, I'm convinced.
edit- The video for Come on Feet is worth checking out if you ever get the urge, super trippy.
GREAT CHOICE
b4 i clicked on this video, i was actually listening to the unseen. a little crazy
Two bands to listen to:
1. Arcade Fire - Everything now
2. Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Likes Bad News
2.5. Sims 3 Katy Perry expansion pack soundtrack
Enjoy
Great video! I recommend reacting to From Me To You by Quadeca. He actually watches your videos.
your editing game has become better!! big ups
Love Madlib hyped for this vid
Love your videos brother! It would make my year if you could do ASTROWORLD next, keep making these awesome vids!
The mystery is finally unfolded!
i love you brother enjoyed the reaction alot
Oh my god this is crazy thank youuu
mercurial six you really ought to check out black country new road!!!! theyre crazy good, kind of in the same vein as black midi
I would highly recommend listening to Since I Left You by The Avalanches if you love this sample based production. Madlib is always great. I would also recommend checking out Lootpack which was a project Madlib was a big part of around the same time.
Big fan here from Brazil
React to kid cudi man on the moon
Microphone mathematics and come on feet my favorite
Can’t forget MHBs
Jumped on this one as soon as saw the title !
