Thanks, mine was a clogged jet, that little Barrel shaped parks that you need a thin flat head screwdriver to remove.. I used your wire method and put everything back together and it worked perfect

Shawn …. Most important things first. Couldn’t help but notice that you were wearing a wristband honoring Sgt Collins who was killed in action in Iraq 2007. Don’t know your connection to him but I wanted to thank he, his family and his friends that remember him daily for paying the ultimate sacrifice fighting so that I may have the freedoms I have. I get emotional just thinking about what he went through. I just don’t deserve it. …….. Now, on to your video. I learned more in 35 minutes than I ever knew about both the carb system and spark plug system on the Generac pressure washer. When I finish this post I am headed straight to the shop to repair mine. Sure appreciate your taking the time to video and comment on what I need to do. - Dan

Dan, I'm glad this video could help you in any way. I am just an amateur posting videos of what I enjoy tinkering on. As for SGT Collins, I had the honor of working and living alongside James while deployed as he was attached to my platoon. It is considerate and kind of you to write the tribute that you did for him. I have worn this bracelet (I'm on my third one as I have worn the aluminum through twice) every day since 2007 to not forget the sacrifice that he and many others made for our country.

I was pretty confident that you might have served as well. For so long I made an effort to thank anyone in uniform. Often times a spouse was nearby as well as children. I soon realized that not only was the service member making a tremendous sacrifice but the spouse and kids were as well. So, thank you Shawn and thanks to your family. Also, I just finished using your video to get my 2900 pressure washer back up and running. I completely cleaned the carburetor as you showed, replaced oil and spark plug, cleaned the gas tank, and added new gas. The thing started on the second pull. I truly appreciate the help.

Mine will start with starting fluid and kinda put, but then dies out. I cleaned out the carburetor and made sure the fuel lines were clean, but it won’t stay running any ideas?

Good news is that is sounds like you have spark, so you now just need to mess with air and fuel. If it runs on starting fluid, what happens if you keep shooting little spurts of starting fluid into as it runs. Will it continue to run so long as you keep spraying? If so your air mix is probably close enough and this is a fuel only issue. Many times the fuel shut off valve (petcock) will be clogged or not functioning. Make sure that you can see light though your carb jets. Cleaning the carb without running a wire through the jet could be the issue, as well as make sure that emulsion tube is clean.

Great video on rebuilding the carb....however, the engine will not crank unless you have a water hose connected to the pump. Ir's a safety factor to avoid ruining a pump by running it without water. Don't try all the other things you were going to do....just connect a water hose to the pump inlet and turn on the water....if your carb repair was sucessful it will fire right up.
