Hey Ben, I don’t want to sound corny but wanted to say that the past year I’ve been watching friends and family book exciting expensive trips overseas while I’ve been stuck at home living off $300 a week, with only $1000nzd in my savings. One morning in August, I took a quick peek at flights around the world out of pure curiosity to see what air fares looked like. I saw there were return flights to China in three weeks for only $550nzd and I don’t know what came over me but in the heat of the moment, I said fuck it and booked the flights, knowing it would drain half of what little savings I had😂. I followed your rule of booking accomodation and ended up spending less that $100 each city, staying in hostels whether they were shit or good. I won’t lie, I was scared shitless as I had never travelled by myself before and didn’t know what to expect from China but I ended up having the best time of my life. I went to four different cities, saw some crazy sights, met great people, had some ball ache situations and really left my comfort zone. I’m back in New Zealand now and I’m even more broke then what I had before I went but I don’t regret it at all and truthfully if it wasn’t for watching you, bald and Simon Wilson, I would’ve never taken an opportunity like that. Again I don’t want this to be cheesy or corny but just wanted to let you that you might not realise what sort of an inspiration you lot are to normal people like us who sit around watching your videos. You also made me realise that you don’t need bucket loads of money to travel. I’m already saving up to do it again
Love that mate! 🔥😎 glad you had a mega time
Good on ya mate! Next time go to Thailand, you’ll love it. I also did the same thing last year and went on a solo trip to 4 countries from Australia and got the inspiration from Ben, Ben and Gabrielle traveller.
Sarge is right. Thailand next time.
@@sarge_4412 Went to Thailand before the pandemic, great country. I'm eyeing up either Vietnam or Malaysia next. Might even return to China again to experience more culture shock
I hope this comment inspires more people to do exactly this. AWESOME!
I’ve been to India once and hated it so much I left and swore to never go back. I went with an open mind and it was worse than I could ever imagine.
No one asked to come here
I hope evil colonisers has same thinking like yours
I also decided to give India a chance. Followed all the advice given to me by Indian friends and colleagues. It was full of beautiful sights, the Taj Mahal, Humayun's Tomb, Amber Fort and Chand Baori almost made the entire journey worth it for me. Almost...
But it was bleak - even though we hired a "trusted" tour agency, we were still scammed and overcharged to hell. I couldn't even use the toilet without someone asking for a tip. I also got robbed 100 euros which was fun... The guys aren't exaggerating, it's incredibly noisy, crowded, and there is litter everywhere. Not to mention you have to navigate through monkeys and stray dogs, hoping you don't catch any novel disease. Strangely, I didn't get food poisoning but I ONLY ate at highly rated restaurants, I didn't dare touch the street food.
Would I visit again? Probably but I'll definitely go to the HImalayas or South India next time where it's not as hectic.
yet to see a video that makes me want to go to India
@@carryontravelingwhy to visit only bad areas etc there is so much place to visit see other videos also
@@carryontraveling Plenty of such videos are there on RUclips. Why don't you start with Harold Baldr? Even though Harold always shows the unfortunate side of India 90% of the time, he definitely isn't narrow minded like a lot of other RUclipsrs. He knows that the interaction with pleasant people are the ones that make the entire trip worthy of his precious time. If Harold visited India several times, it isn't that bad. Finally, go to the South ... it's calm and beautiful and if you avoid cities altogether you can find hidden jems as well.
I can hear all the indian people now saying how nice their country is... i love you for not sugarcoating like other youtubers. India is really not a nice country to visit. And to the people now commenting "you are not welcome here": well don't worry i will never travel to there :D
They have both been to India multiple times. They have always had this opinion about Delhi as it is probably the worst place to go in India. They have spoken about how nice other parts of India are, unless they were lying to get Indian viewers.
You are not welcome here 😂
Listen, south asia is kinda extreme. If u wanna travel avoid countries like India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, ffs go to Maldives, Sri Lanka or even Nepal.
@@Miichelinn Thank you for the advice!

Secondly,Delhi will be like that due to their politics, they provide free electricity to water to all people of delhi,So No funds to upgrade infrastructure,While others cities are growing, Delhi will be worse
Never understood the appeal of Delhi place would drive me insane.

It's very difficult to portray Delhi, Agra, or any other touristy place in India in a positive light. They are simply horrible places, with many horrible people, run by corrupt leaders and those they are bribed by. Mr Bald is right when he says India is a failed state.
Sounds like england
whenever I heard these types of comments I laugh always because most westerners know that Delhi Agra and Jaipur most tourist spots are highly overcrowded but they still go there not for tourism purpose but for views look how poor they are they never go to less crowded places to show beauty because that's how internet works and taking about failed state it's because they have zero knowledge about India and how india works 😂

For those watching, not all of India is like this. Delhi represents only about 0.5% of India. I'm from the southern state of Kerala, which is extremely safe with kind people, and there are many other examples too. Saying India is not safe or clean because of Delhi is like saying the entire USA is not safe or good based solely on Detroit. These vloggers chose one of the worst places in the country, and viewers are unfairly criticizing the whole nation based on Delhi.
Just watching the video gave me a headache.

I use to tell people when I traveled internationally I was from Canada. I am not ashamed to be an American but I was not going to advertise it either. Everyone loves Canada and I had vacationed there twice. It was just my luck I would run into people who have been in Cananda or planning to go there in the future. I was asked questions I did not know the answer to. I ended up having to confess more than once.😁
