If JK is the golden maknae, then J-Hope is the golden hyung. I swear Hoseok never ceases to amaze me with his immense array of talents and versatility. He can dance, rap, sing, produce, compose, beat-box, act, and of course let's not forget his absolutely incredible stage presence and showmanship. You can just tell this man was born to perform (there's a saying in the fandom that once you attend a BTS concert, no matter who your bias is, you will go home with J-Hope as your bias). One thing I have always loved about Hoseok is his versatility. He is always experimenting with his music and his delivery. While I love all the rapline for different reasons, I absolutely adore Hoseok's flow. Perhaps it's due to his background in dancing, but when he raps it's like he is dancing across the beat with his flow. On top of that, the amount of times he switches his flow up in a song is insane. All in all, I just find Hoseok such an immensely talented and admirable person. With his recent comeback, you really have to respect how he chose to be true to his artistry and release a very experimental, non-commercial track rather than something popular that would chart easily. On top of that, he deliberately has no features on the album, completely reinvents his image, and will perform it all for the first time at a festival (i.e. Lollapalooza) where you're not guaranteed your core listener/fanbase. In his own words: “I chose Lollapalooza because I wanted to test my limits. I wanted to perform my music in front of people who love music, even if they’re not my fans. Even if the feedback is positive or negative, I really want that feedback - so I can grow." He's honestly incredible 💜

I said it before and ill say it again, Jhope is a sensational artist. His lyricism and rapping (as well as his dancing) all serve as tools to convey a message but they also provide an experience to the audience. Everyone thinks Hopeworld and Ego are super happy and bubbly, and they might be in terms of music but you just have to take a look at the lyrics to see they're really not. That dynamic of super happy music but (honestly) kinda depressing and abysmal lyrics make the songs 1000x better. Daydream is a perfect example. Jack in the Box on the other hand, is the exact opposite. (well some of the songs, like More and Arson) The lyrics are rather triumphant, while the music is darker. Either way, lyrics are something you definitely have to look out for with Jhope. He's also an incredible producer!
I was fortunate enough to see BTS in concert (PTD LV Shows 1 and 4!!!) and J-Hope's charisma blew me away. He is truly at home on-stage and does a great job connecting with the audience. I find it interesting that J-Hope and Suga's latest projects seem to be the opposite of what is expected of them: J-Hope's "More" is dark and moody (with an alternative rock edge) and Suga co-wrote and co-produced Psy's "That That,'" which is super-poppy dance music (hyper-pop?). I am so happy that you are on a BTS journey. I am a relatively new ARMY (less than 2 years) and they continuously impress me with their candor and dedication.

Hobi was wearing the bunny ears hence he’s Jack when in the box. Then at the end Hobi closes the box. Honestly More & Arson are such cool MV’s & “Jack in the Box” is an amazing album. The lyrics for Daydream are actually really sad… The song lists all the things that people consider everyday life that he can’t do due to his career and how he daydreams about having that freedom. For example, drinking, crying in peace, leaving the house, etc. Also that Arthur thing on the phone is a book reference I’m pretty sure (idk the book tbh). Hobis dad is a literature teacher so hobi often references books and other literature pieces

My favorite of J-Hope's solo songs is Daydream! I tend to forget my bias with that song. LOL J-Hope is our sunshine but I remember what he said before that he's bubbly outside but when he's home, he is quiet which worries his mom sometimes. RM was the one speaking at the beginning. J Hope´s skills are spectacular. RM did his first mixtape more agressive and then Mono is a beautiful one that gives you peace. Hobi did his first mistape really colorful and joyful but the lyrics were deep and now his album is so hard. I love them all. The Lolapalooza concert was beyond spectacular!

j-hope’s signature is kind of versatility. So you picked a good wide spectrum but it’s still just a fraction of what he does. You get to hear his vocal belts in Mama, in songs like Ugh! and RUN BTS, he does a kind of modern trap style thing, he has this really impressive belly-cry he pulls out in a lot of BTS songs, and his falsettos are pitch perfect with such a pretty vibrato (like two or three times this fandom has mis-attributed his falsetto to Jungkook only to learn it was j-hope)…he’s just kind of amazing. So Jung Hoseok was the element in the box and when Pandora opened it “Hope” emerged as he was called to do and Jack is what was left behind. This Jack In The Box (for whom j-hope’s new album is titled) is someone that stays in the box, stifled and shut away while j-Hope goes about his work of uplifting and inspiring. But as Jack In the Boxes tend to do, Jack has been wound up enough that’s he’s sprung forth and j-Hope decides it’s time to acknowledge him and explore him. The album Jack In The Box is a conversation between j-Hope and Jack about the nature of hope, the role hope plays in his own life, and his role as an agent of hope. The lyrics for Daydream are actually really sad… The song lists all the things that people consider everyday life that he can’t do due to his career and how he daydreams about having that freedom. For example, drinking, crying in peace, leaving the house, etc. Also that Arthur thing on the phone is a book reference I’m pretty sure (idk the book tbh). Hobis dad is a literature teacher so hobi often references books and other literature pieces
Since it was a call from someone named Arthur and it said "Don't Panic!" this is most likely a reference to Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

i loved seeing u love airplane! definitely one of my favorite hobi hits. bc u liked it sm, u definitely have to check out airplane pt. 2! it’s a latin pop inspired track from bts’ love yourself series. the boys also loved airplane sm that they decided to make a pt. 2 for the group! hobi’s verse in pt. 2 starts with his lyrics from his og solo, “every day above the clouds, every day above the clouds,” which is my fave part of both songs!

My favorite of J-Hope's solo songs is Daydream! I tend to forget my bias with that song. LOL J-Hope is our sunshine but I remember what he said before that he's bubbly outside but when he's home, he is quiet which worries his mom sometimes. RM was the one speaking at the beginning. J Hope´s skills are spectacular. RM did his first mixtape more agressive and then Mono is a beautiful one that gives you peace. Hobi did his first mistape really colorful and joyful but the lyrics were deep and now his album is so hard. I love them all. The Lolapalooza concert was beyond spectacular!

j-hope’s signature is kind of versatility. So you picked a good wide spectrum but it’s still just a fraction of what he does. You get to hear his vocal belts in Mama, in songs like Ugh! and RUN BTS, he does a kind of modern trap style thing, he has this really impressive belly-cry he pulls out in a lot of BTS songs, and his falsettos are pitch perfect with such a pretty vibrato (like two or three times this fandom has mis-attributed his falsetto to Jungkook only to learn it was j-hope)…he’s just kind of amazing. The genre is j-hope.
And for context on his alter ego “Jack” (the character in white in MORE), j-hope’s name comes from the Pandora’s Box myth. So Jung Hoseok was the element in the box and when Pandora opened it “Hope” emerged as he was called to do and Jack is what was left behind. This Jack In The Box (for whom j-hope’s new album is titled) is someone that stays in the box, stifled and shut away while j-Hope goes about his work of uplifting and inspiring. But as Jack In the Boxes tend to do, Jack has been wound up enough that’s he’s sprung forth and j-Hope decides it’s time to acknowledge him and explore him. The album Jack In The Box is a conversation between j-Hope and Jack about the nature of hope, the role hope plays in his own life, and his role as an agent of hope. This theme is echoed in the imagery, the lyrics, the production even…it’s a genius piece of work. You might have noticed he makes a lot of literary references? His lyrical strength is world-building, story-telling, and echoing the lyrics several times over with the concept, production, imagery, symbolism, references, adlibs. I spend weeks with his lyrics every time he drops something.
Also, I watch your Mamamoo reactions and I can’t remember who your bias is but Wheein actually reminds me of j-hope because of her versatility, her ACE factor, and the fact that she has so many layers to her that she’s constantly surprising you. Plus some of her solo music could fit right in on Hope World (his first album). And they’re both Jungs!
