I got to know a Japanese guy (he’s an international student in college) - I’m an 18 American and he’s 18 we became close friends and I started to like him but I didn’t know if he felt the same way. So after a year and a half of him giving me mixed signals, he came back from japan and we hung out at my place, where he met my parents and he told me about his feelings. He also asked my parents for their blessing (something that is done in my culture - ask the parents for blessings before beginning to date) and we became a couple. We are now long distance. Communication is very important to me in a relationship and so I asked him to please try and communicate with me more but he doesn’t really like FaceTiming or calling on the phone (he didn’t tell me directly but I could tell) now he’s back in Japan and he does text me but takes hours or even sometimes days to reply. He also rarely likes my social media posts. I don’t know what he’s doing and it makes me sad cause sometimes I feel as though I’m not in a relationship.
