Grandfather drove for Robertson's, taught my dad how to drive truck. My fondest memory of my father is him putting me in his lap as a kid while he drove my uncle's Mack. He passed in August of last year, and watching your ATS videos reminded me of that golden memory. Going to be building my ATS setup soon. Hey Jeff as a truck driver myself there is no amount of getting out and looking that is unsafe better safe than sorry take as much getting out and looking as you need in real life bro and i have been in many tight docks from street docks to alley docks garage docks in the windy city to cave docks in Missouri
Perfect example of what some of us truckers have to deal with. Some places aren't even designed for 54 ft trailers and a sleeper yet they expect us to pick up. It can be a nightmare.

Cool drop. I had this type of drop the other day (first time I’d ever been to one), and it was for Coca Cola. If you look at the Coors sign when you enter the gate, it has that bottle cap just like the Coca Cola logo, and the red trucks on the left also said Coca Cola. I guess they recycle sometimes, lol. Loved the incorporate of getting out of the semi and seeing where the trailer was at, i would love the scs devs make it into a feature in the game but time will tell one that would happen. But i would love to see this again in the future when making a ats video.
Its kind of funny with the back in the beggining and that dumpster being in the way, my instructor told me a story yesterday about when he was backing into a jobsite in downtown Kenosha and he spent 4 hours trying to shimmy it in there, then he decided to just the push the dumpster out of the way and got it within 5 minutes.
We've had such a high percentage of screwups and "FU" quality service with U-Haul over the years (probably 20-30 rentals) I would avoid them when possible. Usually they are the cheapest, but if the price is close I'd try anybody else. I know you moved already but I hope your experience with them went okay. A few years ago some of my clan rented a truck from Penske, it turned out to be an International diesel, but I don't know what specific engine. I didn't go on that trip but I was told it was a total dog, slowed to a crawl on hills and the automatic transmission refused to downshift when it obviously needed to. In the flatlands it wouldn't be such an issue. I didn't really mind the height of the deck, I liked that the Penske is flat instead of having the wheel humps. I did go to help pick it up and the office was a hell of a lot more organized, efficient and easy to deal with than U-Haul has ever been, though. Most importantly, they actually *had* the truck we rented, ready to go, unlike what happens with U-Haul so much of the time.
Love the ats videos man, I also love the x plane videos, I'd love to see you do a ats greyhound mod roleplay since you get into it in an enjoyable way, I've seen many other greyhound videos here but none make it believable
Great video man. Also to answer your question, Uhaul doesn't use diesel trucks anymore. They had some diesel trucks in the 80s and 90s, but then they stopped in the 90s I think. Also, the older GMC truck you were talking about that is similar to the F-650 is the GMC Topkick.
I really like this truck and I have it. I play almost exclusively in VR (HP Reverb G2 and GTX 3080). Most stuff, including from Jon Ruda, runs at 55fps….this truck drops it to 30 for some reason.
Curious... How long did it actually take to get in and out of that pickup? I had a 2020 Harley Fat Bob... had a truck push me to the shoulder of the interstate doing 80 to pass the truck beside me, I decided to head home and had a truck pulling a utility trailer pull out in from of me... I sold it within 2 weeks...

At 4:15 I have backed into Walmart docks that looked just like that. I mean it is uncanny how much it looks like it. It is the smaller Walmart stores, not the Supercenters. The door is in the same spot also. You would go up to the door and ring the doorbell. Don't know who put this planter here, it's called engineers. They like to put things there to make it look nice. You know like a tree island in front of the docks, you know to cover that unsightly dock up.

I got rid of both my R6 and Gixxer 1000 because it was just too dang unsafe to ride here in Northern California. If I consider another bike I'm thinking KTM 690 or possibly a BMW Gs 800 so I can hit the dirt. Have a safe trip Jeff hopefully I'll catch the stream.

I'm super late seeing this video (awesome video btw) but I can say there's a spot to turn around on the prefab and that is a all the in the back of the facility but it's a tight U-turn. The Cascadia is the easiest truck to do it in because of it's short nose and tighter turning radius. This is the 42 Print in the base game and I believe this only 42 Print in the base map with this prefab and it is in Colorado Springs.
I'm excited that Nebraska finally has appeared in a video game I feel like very few games have ever acknowledged our existence.

At around 18:57, the interstate highway sign is supposed to say I-90, not I-40. Whoever made the map mod messed up there. Good video anyway.

Uhaul F650s usually have the 6.8l Triton V10, newer models have the 7.3l Godzilla V8s.

Those long nose trucks are impossible to back in ats 😂 this is why I like to run daycab trucks
