Its because of this that Hvitserk killed Lagertha. Making Ivar true to his word that he would kill her (since he indirectly pulled it off)
While this was horrifically cruel and unnecessary, I don't really feel much about the death of the actual character herself. Thora appeared out of nowhere, had sex with Hvitserk within thirty seconds, and had no purpose other than to be Hvitserk's eye candy and give him someone to bitch about Ivar to. Hirst has no idea how to write women characters beyond making them love interests or ridiculously strong shieldmaidens.
He gave us Siggy but that didn’t last long
He can write tragedy for women. All of the women in his story lose so much before they even get a proper introduction 🙄😭

It’s so fucked up his brother forgave him in the end. He is a tyrant with no excuses. He is an interesting character and so smart but I curse the way of acting. I’m so happy tho he changed his point of view in the end.

hvitserk was in kattegat the whole season, they could've done so much more with her character instead of burning her
If she had just left when he first said it, instead of asking again, she could have survived then because he wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to mark her (although her family would be dead, she might have had some time to try to run and hide without gaurds immediately following her)
He also could’ve done anything BUT burn her alive.
He played a big part in wiping out his own people yet he is still loved smh
Ivar is loved so because... in layman's... his , idk , Vikingness. He literally was a "Mortal Viking God" . Yes , a God is immortal. Ivar was special. He crawled. And then he conquered. King Harold is a good leader but bjorn would destroy him in combat and he should of been crowned king not Harold bjorn ironside is the most strongest hearted character alongside ubbe but ivar was raised by floki who taught him no sacrafice that's why he became who he is
Ragnar was floki bestfriend and brother in arms he trusted floki with his sons but ivars mom told floki to teach only ivar of the true viking way so he did ivar and floki bonded like nephew and uncle and ragnar trusted floki but ragnar wouldn't allow him to despise Christian being a Christian himslef
