The masks have always been a part of Slipknot, I believe it all started when they began, Shawn Crahan (the clown), one day, went to where they used to rehearsal with an old clown mask he had at home. They decided to all use a mask and matching jumpsuits as to divert attention from their individual self, and to let the audience focus on the music instead. The fact they gave themselves a number was also to keep their names a "secret". The barcodes they began to use on their clothes was like a criticism to music industry, that treats artists like a "product" instead of real people.
the masks reflect who they really are in that album cycle. their mental state as it were. some masks dont change all that much, while others change drastically. another reason is because the identity of the artists themselves does not matter. they go by numbers. and once upon a time, they used to all have bar codes on their backs. they are a product. the music speaks for them

He is also in another band called "Stone Sour" and they don't wear masks. He's also sang on a ton of different side projects with other bands. He does a lot of solo touring on a gig called "Corey MF Taylor" lol. He's arguably one of the best singers to have ever lived. My personal favorite thing he ever did was a collab with Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters / Nirvana. They made a song called "From Can To Can't" and there's a 20 minute version of it on RUclips where you get to see them in the studio making the song. You spend most of the video in the booth with Corey Taylor watching him be an absolute powerhouse with no autotune. He's a beast.
Apart from Craig (hellraiser mask) and Mick (guitarist with metal-looking mask) who haven’t changed that much the others change every slbum. In this video you’re also seeing VMan, Jay and Tortilla, all new members

WAYYY back in the day pre 99' the masks were to protect identity/ more about the music and less about who they are.. 25 years later the masks are just as pivotal with album releases. most of the time there will be several iterations of the mask through the album cycle. for instance, You mentioned Corey's mask looked wider late in the video.. the mask started to fit weird. so slits and stiches were added to tighten it up. Now that you are into the slipknot rabbithole look up AJ Good here on YT... he's pretty much one of the biggest experts in SK masks and metal/ horror music and movie masks out there. ok essay is done now lol
The Hellraiser guy you are thinking of is named Pinhead and is played by Doug Bradley. The video is about how fans revere them and essentially build this belief system around them, making them out to be saints or martyrs in some ways. While some band members have embraced it to an extent, Corey has always maintained that he is "just like any other d-bag" and this idol-ism he experiences because he is famous, he never wanted any of it. It is too heavy for him. So here he is essentially removing himself from sainthood and martyrdom, from the "Church of Slipknot" which oddly enough is the name of a big fan group. Their mask wearing started as far back as their first album. originally the message was that they were all about the music and wanted to remain faceless. Shawn "Clown" started it because he was stage-shy so he would wear an old Halloween clown mask on stage to overcome his anxiety, then the whole band decided they would do it because it looked awesome and added something to their message. Over the years it became a gimmick along with their long-forgotten jump suits they would wear and the masks get updated for every album. These particular masks were designed by the legendary special effects master Tom Sorvini aka. Sex Machine from the original From Dusk til Dawn movie.
