Seeing Brad smile during this song made my night!! I am almost 67 years old, and I am a maggot! My 9 year old granddaughter sings their songs with me!!
That’s awesome. I’m 17 and saw them for the first and my second concert ever last week. I was finally able to convince my parents to let me go and it was awesome.
I'm with ya Vickie. I'm 57, we're old enough that we were able to see them when they were young and total maniacs on stage. Last time I saw them was in 2019 at the Rock festival Louder Than Life. I was 54, and finally crowd surfed for my 1st time during their set. Was awesome.
From interviews, Corey said it was about his battle with depression, how it was tearing him down, but he never took his own life inspite of how bad it got, and that he's ready to let go of that frame of mind he was in
Corey hasn't sold his soul tho cuz he believes in god 😅 so ain't no way he's gonna sell his soul.... But wait wait I think the line " I'll never kill myself to save my soul " meaning I'll never take my life just to please the enemy and end up in hell I don't know but that's how I have an understanding of that line
Slipknot is a weird one. I didnt really like heavy music but I liked Duality, then I heard one more "commerical-ish" song and liked that. Then you just get accustomed to the sound and end up being more open to enjoying all their songs. I guess thats why record labels pay to have their music on rotation on radio stations, the more you hear it the more you get familar with the sounds, leading to you probably liking it.
Once you get used to it and can understand what he’s saying it’s awesome. Their first album dropped when I was a sophomore in high school in 1999. Getting to see them live last night was a bucket list moment. I love watching people discover them.
Oh wow Brad ...you nailed it on this one bro. You are becoming one of the Maggots. This is a cracking track from a cracking album. I think you have blown Lex's mind when there was a little headbang 👍🤣. You guys are special people .. you make me smile all the time. Love your reactions and channel. Peace guys 👍✌️🤘☮️
corey is a master wordsmith he is amazing at being cryptic and poetic with his lyrics, you should listen to his other band stone sour too, btw you guys are awesome keep up the good work
IMHO this song screams taking back your personal power. Finally having the strength to let go of something you clung so tightly to that it was practically a spiritual experience. I have no clue what he is referring to specifically but I can imagine it was extremely cathartic for him. It is almost like he would do something so unthinkable that it could damn his soul, but he wouldn't end his life to save it even if that was the case. In the official video, he walks through a church and then walks out the front doors after setting the statue of himself on fire. I wonder if this was a long-overdue song to the people who practically sainted him and subsequently martyred him?, or if it is further commentary on the music industry and how they treat musicians? It is like Manson said "They love you when you're on all the covers. When you're not, then they love another". "Reaching out for the hand of God, but did you think you'd shake your own?" Has to be one of my favorite lyrics of all-time. This reminds me of another song called "Gateways" it is by a Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal Band named "Dimmu Borgir" (Dim-you Boar-gear). You should check them out.
This is probably my favorite Slipknot song!! I could listen to it over & over again!! & Brad, it was awesome to see your reaction!!! Would ❤ to see you head bang!!! 💯 Amazing reaction you guys!!
Please, Please, Please go to a Slipknot concert. It is the best concert I've ever been to, and the energy when these songs kick in is amazing. Seeing 20k people go nuts and have a blast to this is something you have to experience at least once.
Corey and Shawn Crahan “Clown” are lyrical geniuses. Awesome head piece Lex, and Brad this was the closest we have got to you letting out your inner metal head. You two rock!!
Bruh, I found your page today looking up Slipknot Reactions, and FR Lex is a full hearted headbanger, and Brad is a repressed metalhead. I love the few videos I have watched, but I am a sub from now on!
Seen heaps of your Metallica, Pantera stuff but this is the first song I've reacted to with you guys and was totally there for the ride 🤘🤟. It's a total headbanger. Takes me right back to Slipknot's 2001 Iowa album days. Thanks dude's. loved it. Side note: Noticed brad is digging the darker tone of the dropped tuning when you guys are checking out hard rock and metal.
I just saw slipknot live on October 17th and it was hands down the greatest live show I have ever seen and I’ve been to them all!! You two must see them
Hed PE varies so much, think they should start with Church of Reality or Broke album songs. Wouldn't want them to react to CBC and then never listen to them again lmao.
Just seen them again Tuesday in Tampa, 5th row! Been my favorite band since 99. Such an amazing band! 5th time live! You would’ve loved it! Pure Energy!
it actually makes me happy that slipknot is the band that makes brad feel something. plenty to choose from. my favorites are solway firth or anything from the iowa album.
Haven’t checked in a couple months about to catch up on your videos starting with one of my favorite bands slipknot and I have to say bro you look more relaxed I mean total 180 she as wild and beautiful as I recall and the channel is doing fn awesome, you two should easily double within the next year love it, from a day on subscriber love from Minneapolis you two🤘🏻I know your busy if you can squeeze in this band Skidrow song “Quicksand Jesus”:or Wasted time” this dude has range like no other, sang on Broadway in New York after the success in late 80s early 90s thanks guys and keep true to yourselfs
@Brad & Lex This song is obviously about depression. Nero Forte is also another song on the recent album "We Are Not Your Kind" which also deals with depression.
You need to look up asylum by vended. It's a band made by 2 of slipknot members kids. Griffin Taylor (Corey taylor the singer of slipknot son) is the singer and sounds just like his dad
I feel like their style of 'we are not your kind' (the album this is off of, it's from 2019) fits you guys very well. Stuff like this, solway firth and nero Forte were good choices to really get you guys accustomed to their sound and how it can be heavy while having such a catchy feeling to it. Another from this album i think would be good would be 'critical darling'.
Of my favourite metal bands of the 21st century, Slipknot is definitely the most straight-forward heavy-metal (the other two being System Of A Down and Within Temptation). I could listen to those three bands on a loop for a good long while, I think. 😉
I saw you guys reacted to a few excellent Gojira songs, but you really should React to "Silvera" and "Stranded" which are two of the biggest hits this amazing band has.
Been a fan of theirs since the beginning but it sounds like you are really digging their new sound, which I am as well. My personal favorite is Nero Forte, so I definitely suggest that one to you guys. I also very much enjoyed All Out Life when it came out but it doesnt seem to have resonated as much with the fan base but I also suggest that one to you guys since you are both become such big Slipknot fans.
With Halloween coming up you guys should check out some Skynd videos. They're.....well I don't know how to explain the music other than they do songs about True Crime stories, and definitely fit that Halloween vibe. "Tyler Hadley" and "Gary Heidnik" featuring Jonathan Davis from Korn are their best songs.

But after she got that leverage I always felt I owed her. She saved my life, so no amount of money or time was never enough. She would bring it up, knowing my ego to obligation would make me bend. I spent well over a 1/4 million dollars on this girl and time too, before I had to say I had enough. It wasn't her fault it was me. That ego wasn't good for me or her so I had to let it go, and stop helping her. At the end of the day, she is no better off: no she can't afford what she has. At the end of the day it ends up in a pawn shop or traded in for shitty stuff she can afford and pay bills.

that just made my night!
Brad finally felt it in his soul.
Word !
Yeahhhhh boiiiiiiiiii🤘
Hard not to feel Slipknot in your soul tho
From interviews, Corey said it was about his battle with depression, how it was tearing him down, but he never took his own life inspite of how bad it got, and that he's ready to let go of that frame of mind he was in
it's about selling his soul
Corey hasn't sold his soul tho cuz he believes in god 😅 so ain't no way he's gonna sell his soul.... But wait wait I think the line " I'll never kill myself to save my soul " meaning I'll never take my life just to please the enemy and end up in hell I don't know but that's how I have an understanding of that line
@@mikeortiz9664 Corey believes in nothing but good, its his way of saying he makes his own way and he wont end his life to appease the pain
Nero Forte by Slipknot is a great one
I’m like 99.9% sure they have listened to that already. “Edit: yes they did react to it already.”
They did Nero Forte. It was the first one of their videos I watched. It's great
The entire album from start to finish is just absolute banging. A complete masterpiece.

The best way to go about it is to ease in and understand it for yourself before you dive in fully. Makes perfect sense to me.
Once you get used to it and can understand what he’s saying it’s awesome. Their first album dropped when I was a sophomore in high school in 1999. Getting to see them live last night was a bucket list moment. I love watching people discover them.
Haha, this is the exact same way I got into metal!
Slipknot is strictly against selling out and compromising their style for money
I’m so glad he’s smiling all the way through the song and enjoying the music as well. Let’s hope for more slipknot 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Word !
This was the best reaction I've seen from Brad now !
Brad is no an official metalhead !
Look at Lex embracing her inner metalhead. You go girl!
😂❤
"I just listened and enjoyed it."
I think he's getting it!
By George I think he's got it ..lol. Slowly but surely he will head bang sooner or later...
I'm a musician who's been stuck in a creative dry spell. Your genuine reactions have really helped me remember what I love about music. Thank you.
If you want to headbang Brad, Slipknot - Eyeless
If you haven’t done it already…
YES
But the download 09 live version
You guys should react to…
Slipknot - Vermilion
🎸🤘
Also Rammstein - Feuer Frei and the controversial Deutschland (original video) with English lyrics/subtitles
UP
And vermilion pt 2
I’d also love for them to listen to killpop

Finally. Brad is as down for metal as our little metal darling, Lex. This is awesome!!!
Glad you guys finally got around to this song, it’s amazing! You can do pretty much any Slipknot song and enjoy it.
Brad is getting it! 🎉🤘🏻
I went to the Slipknot show on the 9th, got a headbang to the face on this one 😆
Lex, my daughter digs your moves.
Yeah that show in Hartford was great. My son loved it.

So from what I've gathered, Brad likes percussion based bands, like slipknot, and gojira. Both the percussion leads the way, and both have grooves.
Yo the day Brad rocks the "full" out with Lex and loses his mind is the day I can die.
OMG I'm ding to see that !
“Virus of Life” is a fantastic Slipknot song that has a slow burn, you might enjoy it

You really have to check out "All Out Life" from Slipknot, really popular release from 2019
Freaking love this song! Yall should give "The Negative One" a listen next!
Mudvayne?
Think they did this one too
saw the boys Oct 10 ,they opened with this banger
I am finding so much joy in seeing you guys enjoy this so much. I'm gonna keep watching.

This is definitely a favorite. You might like Fit for a King. When Everything Means Nothing, or Death Grip are both great songs by them.
Love the horns Lex!
