the thing I love most about Slipknot is that the music sounds so wild but yet so controlled at the same time.

They have powerful feels in their drumming because they have 2 percussionists with a drummer. It's something that sets them apart from other bands. In some songs it comes off as tribal or hypnotic, in others it's very chaotic and all over the place. Just one of the reasons they are my favorite band ever, great song, excited for the new album!

I think it was like 96 to 98 for me when I started seeing a ton of extreme metal bands being talked about, all from Europe. Grunge was dying and Nu-Metal wasn't fairing so well as a genre that was going to stick around.

GroinFaceGroin Jay is no newbie as a drummer. I mean his dad is phenomenal jazz drummer. If you can play jazz, you can damn near play anything. Pretty sure that’s what Jay learned first

and now for the serious part. I'm from the "Wait and Bleed" beginners, who would NEVER recommend that song now.
But, "Devil In I" (now my favorite song) is tempered by Heretic Anthem, Sic, etc. "Devil in I?"....you don't get to move everybody...but that song moves mountains, even IF there is a divide.
Love the way it breaks down in the chorus and the double kick drum work in this...Slipknot 🤘😜🤘
