@@rv2167 What are you saying? He coached the team for two and half seasons before the year they won. They didn't even make the playoffs his first two years. Thornton will always go down as a loser, that's a fact. Those Sharks teams he led in the early to mid 2010s had all the pieces to win a Cup and they didn't. A lot of that falls on him and Patrick Marleau.
@@rv2167 They had one of the lowest payrolls of any team when they won in 2004. A-Rod made more money than the entire Tampa Bay Lightning did that year.

For what it's worth, my friend works in the PT facility that the Jackets use in CBUS. She met Torts a couple of times when he coached there and says he is the quietest, sweetest, and most humble guy in person. She had no idea who he was until after the first time he came into their office. Just acted like any other guy off the street.

IDK if you ever watched the HBO road to the winter classic when it was Rangers Vs Flyers IIRC. They had behind the scenes, unedited locker room moments in between periods. If you can dig it up you can witness Torts in his natural habitat.
