+Ankhbayar Bat-Erdene Because Shaq stepped up to the challenge when he entered the league bro. He was surrounded by talent in Orlando, but they were immature. When he went to the Lakers, he routinely states he was told: "Anything less than 3 championships will be viewed as a failure." So he stepped up and led that team. Kobe just came along for the ride. If you had put players like Ray Allen or Vince Carter in Kobe's position back then, I can assure you the Lakers would still have won championships.
When he went to teams like Miami and Cleveland, the players (Wade & LeBron) no doubt expected him to carry the team. "Nahhhhh, young fellas, you gotta earn your stripes! I'm just here to help." That was Shaq's motto at that point in his career.

I love Shaq, greatest Big Man ever..He was Blessed with size and a gifted athlete, he was so powerful on his dunks, would hype me up everytime, amazing.. And he brought the Championship to Miami that he promised. Pat Riley should have treated him better towards the end. It would DWade is a better teammate, and More efficient than Kobe I think. And in his prime, other than shoot 3's he was better than Kobe in every aspect.

And still dominating. He was robbed of his 2005 MVP. He turned that Heat franchise around. And don't say that was Wade because Wade wasn't winning games for Miami like that before Shaq came.

***** Oh yeah, I'm sure he didn't need the aid of Shaq, Haslem, Posey, J. Williams, and company. You're right, Wade did it by himself.
P.S. This was 2005, not mid 2006 where Wade became the official man of the team.

  • @terryallen7169

Not completely true on Shaq's part.... He got to Miami and still wanted to be the MAN and wanted the offense to go through him which is why they were a mediocre tream at the beginning of that season. Eventually it was GP that told him and made him understand that " the young boy/D-Wade " was #1 option ........
