This 3 min video describes briefly how humans are good at comparing temperatures between objects, but often misjudge the actual temperature of an object. Heat and temperature are compared in that the amount of heat an object contains is related to temperature but also its mass.
From what I understand, it's not correct to say that something "contains" heat. Rather it's the internal energy (the kinetic and the potential energy.) Heat is the energy in transit, the energy that goes from the bucket/cup to the pool. Why do they do this? Why do they go from bucket and cup to pool and not the other way around? Well imagine now the invisible- the water molecules. We saw that at 100^C the water molecules were jiggling very fast and that in the cup were jiggling slowly thus the molecules in pool would jiggle more slowly. When fast jiggling meets slow jiggling, the slow jiggling starts jiggling faster. The transfer of energy that happened here, from fast jigglers to slow jigglers, that would be heat. How fast one individual water molecule is jiggling would be it's temperature. (So what's the average kinetic energy of one of these jigglers? Temperature!) If the water in cup and bucket jiggled at same speed and thus same kinetic energy, they'd have same temperature, regardless of how many molecules are there (the bucket clearly has many.) Edit- So the money would be internal energy and not heat. One note/bill of money would be temperature. When we mix them together, the higher money bills would pity the smaller ones and give them some of the value and that would be heat. (Someone please comment if I got it wrong.)
