I realize that it is commonly thought by many experts that temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of an object but this is fundamentally incorrect. Temperature is the measure of the average speed of the molecules within an object. The formula for kinetic energy is 1/2 mv2. temperature does not measure anything concerning mass. It only measures a component of the formula which is speed. The proof is that Lithium will have more kinetic energy at the same temperature than Hydrogen. I'm very interested in feedback on this.

Yes, but collecting thermal energy is hard, you could use the energy to boil water to make steam. Like geothermal energy, but our bodies and appliances can not give out this much energy. So if you invent something that can create energy, congrats! Become rich!
