It is time for the second update of the year! The months March and April kept me very busy both on the workbench and in the outside world.
As always i give you guys reports about my journey to various model shows in Germany and abroad, about my completed and ongoing projects and my recent purchases.
The captured T-60 of my granduncle is completed already and i was very happy about your reactions. I was very moved by this and i can imagine you felt the same way. This is very motivating, so i might try something similar again in the future, since there are a couple of other relatives who served in the World Wars and would also deserve a small scale model memorial.
Furthermore i was very happy about all the generous donations for the scale modelling workshop of the Holiday Activity Program and for myself, thank you very much to all you supporters! You make a big difference!
Now we are advancing quickly towards the summer time, but before we get there properly i will visit two more model shows, namely the ones in Leipheim and Stammheim. Maybe we meet each other there, it would be my pleasure!

As always, a great update. Your projects are vwry inspirational and I especially look forward to seeing your upcoming progress on the Gepard. A cold, muddy base will set an appropriate tone for that scene.
Your groundwork is always top-notch, as evidenced by the T-60. The little flowers are a great touch, and by sticking tufts into your mud paste you have the little hints of dirt patches showing through here and there which is very realistic. Sometimes a grassy base has too much grass and looks like a fancy lawn. And, I'm glad you had a better experience with the hairspray chipping on that project. It is a very nice result and certainly up there with my other favourite Hamilkar Barkas projects.

Glad you like the T-60 as well, i might be able to bring it over, so you can see it in person. The vehicle and base are simple, but sometimes that is better than overloading it all.

Always great to hear your contagious enthusiasm, Michael. You do a great job at showing the benefit of interacting with others who enjoy the hobby. Wonderful approach. It’s encouraging to know that I’m not the only person who thinks that next model is not ‘too many’ for the five years’ supply of builds already lined up… 🙄

For some reason the video stopped at 35:59, not sure why.. I will come back later or tomorrow and try and watch the final part. Thanks for sharing the shows you go to and the progress of your many projects./ I hope to go to another model show at Mildenhall in a couple of weeks time and then the Ipswich show in June, as always. Both of these shows are held on a Saturday, which is fairly rare as most are on a Sunday.
Oh, the video started again.. Excellent!! Looks like you have had some great kits donated to the summer build, as well as to yourself.. and the haul from various shows is very impressive as well. I'm trying not to buy too many new kits now, but when you see something you have been after for a while, or a new kit that is spot on in the field of interest, it is hard to resist.. :) Finally I'm pleased to see that the T-shirt still fits.. Great video.. :) :)

That shirt is still fitting me really well, although i don´t get to wear it very often. It happen to be burried underneath many other shirts in my closet, so recently i discovered it again and thought it is perfect to wear in a video :)
@@HamilkarBarkasScaleModellingMine is worn out... Had planned to build a Stuka, as it happens, as my next project but it is the old tool Airfix kit in 1/48 and when I checked it last night I noticed one of the wheels were missing, so it has gone back on hold for now. I have ordered a set of resin wheels which I hope will fit, but they cost me more than I paid for the kit itself.. it's no longer the cheap cheerful build it was supposed to be.. 😃

Danke Markus :) Mir macht Autofahren Spaß, vor allem wenn man äußerst angenehme Mitfahrer hat! Lief wie am Schnürchen und so wie es aussieht machen wir das nächstes Jahr wohl wieder, vielleicht sogar in einer besonderen Konstellation - aber das ist bis jetzt nur eine Idee. Mehr dazu erzähle ich dir in Leipheim, wo wir uns bald wieder treffen. Das wird das nächste Highlight mein Freund!

Nice update Michael, look foto the reviews and I’m sure that Moto Guzzi kit is a super kit. Enjoy the upcoming shows, it’s going to be a busy May and June here in the UK too with shows virtually every weekend. Cheers Paul
Thank you buddy :) That kit of the Moto Guzzi is quite something, it is a 3D printed kit with a very high part count actually. It is certainly not an easy build, but i am willing to endure a lot when i care for the subject. Have fun at all the upcoming shows Paul!!

Hallo Michael, danke für ein wieder mal sehr schönes Update. Freut mich das du wieder zahlreiche Spenden für den kommenden Nachwuchs erhalten hast. Wenn ich den Samstag nicht arbeiten muss dann komme ich auch wieder nach Leipheim. Einmal war ich ja schon da und würde sehr gerne wieder auf die diese kleine aber sehr feine Ausstellung gehen.
Ob du dir mit dem Bronco Krupp Protze nen gefallen getan hast....Ich hatte einmal Bronco und das reicht mir nie nie wieder!!!!! Lieber dafür den Tamiya Bausatz mit der PaK
Ansonsten wieder eine sehr gute Auswahl an Neuzugängen

Da freu ich mich aber schon, hoffentlich schaffst du es nach Leipheim!
Den Krupp Protze von Tamiya habe ich schon 4 oder 5 mal gebaut, jetzt möchte ich mal was anderes probieren :) Bronco ist wirklich nicht für alles geeignet, bisher ist aber immer was draus geworden, was man nicht bei allen Marken sagen kann.

Ich finde das auch sehr spannend und der erste Eindruck von diesem Bausatz ist hervorragend! Ein interessantes Set auf jeden Fall.
Die Marke heißt GV, beziehungsweise GeoVyzva, auf Scalemates findest du einen Link auf eine nicht gerade nutzerfreundliche Seite des Herstellers, wo man das für einen anständigen Preis bekommt - falls du nicht abwarten möchtest auf mein Video dazu :)

Hey there Stuart, i am very happy to hear from you mate, how is it going?! I have fond memories of the time in Britain last November, it left a big impression. I kept an eye on your club show in Peterborough and saw several reports about it, quite an impressive show you guys organized over there! Very good indeed. I also heard from Toby in the meantime, now from you, that is really cool and shows, how much camaraderie there is in this hobby.

Das sind doch wieder schöne Sachen die du aus dem Tisch hast. Auf den Gepard bin ich besonders gespannt. Mal gucken vielleicht schaffen wir das ja nächstes Jahr auch mal zur Moson Show, ich bin auf jeden fall angefüttert. Stammheim wird es dieses Jahr nicht werden da ich dieses mal Veldhoven mit auf dem Plan habe, aber der Besuch im letzten Jahr war nicht mein Einziger.
Man kann natürlich nicht auf jeder Ausstellung mit dabei sein, aber ab und zu lohnt es sich mal was neues anzuschauen. Moson ist durchaus eine Reise wert!
Dieses Jahr werde ich Ried mal ausfallen lassen und stattdessen auf die SMC nach Veldhoven fahren, Abwechslung muss sein. Man sieht sich also dort :)

Thank you! I hope you will find my points about the Gepard useful one day. All in all the kit builds up well, i wish they had put in some extra effort though to take it all to a much higher level. It They molded tiny grab handles to some parts, yet failed to give us big grab handles.

Danke für deine Update. Immer ein Genuss. Auf die Otto Degen Figur warte ich auch noch (auch vorbestellt) und hoffe die Jungs bringen noch ein paar Figuren aus den Kurzfilmen raus. Der Ozzy hat ja grade auch die ICM Figuren von Special Operations Forces mit sehr schöner Tarnung vorgestellt. Da freue ich mich auf deine Varianten wenn sie kommen. Der NLAW Schütze von dir hat mir schon sehr gut gefallen.
Das freut mich, dankeschön. Ich finde diese kleine Kooperation zwischen PLW und Plastic Invasion sehr schön, da konnte ich gar nicht anders, als mir eine Figur gleich zu holen :) Mal sehen, wie das ankommt, vielleicht wird das Angebot dann noch ausgebaut. Ein Herr Urlag in DRK Uniform wäre schon ein großer Wunsch von mir :)

Hast einige schöne Ausstellungen besucht wobei sich zeigt, daß auch die kleinen Ausstellungen einiges zu bieten haben! Für einen Einkaufswagen voll mit Dingen, die man nicht braucht aber unbedingt haben will, hat es auch gesorgt. Die Vignette des Beutepanzers in deutschen Diensten mit Bezug zur verwandtschaftlichen Vergangenheit ist Dir sehr gut gelungen und sicher ein tolles Stück für Ausstellungen. Ansonsten ist Dein Tisch ja voll mit Projekten. Langeweile ist da kein Thema, eher zu wenig Zeit für alle Ideen. Verbreitetes Problem.

Vielen Dank! Man kommt schon ganz gut herum in der Welt im Namen des Modellbaus, ob nah, ob fern, es gibt viele schöne Veranstaltungen. Ich freu mich schon auf die nächste in Leipheim, das ist immer recht gemütlich dort :)
Von der Revell Heinkel "UHU" hatte ich damals den 1:72 Bausatz. Der hatte sich fast von selbst gebaut und die Passgenauigkeit war einfach super.
Diese Uhu ist ja generell ein recht beliebtes Flugzeug in fast allen Maßstäben. Die in 1/72 von der du schreibst habe ich auch mal gebaut vor sehr langer Zeit.

Gute Frage, das klären wir, wenn es soweit ist :D Ein Modellbau-Sabbatical wäre mal was, oder meine Fans unterstützen mich so sehr finanziell, dass ich nichts mehr anderes machen brauche als Modelle zu bauen :) Am Material fehlt es jedenfalls nicht, Ideen habe ich auch, nur die liebe Zeit, davon bräuchte man einfach mehr...
It's me again... If I remember correctly, you were kicked out of 'farce-book' because you posted images of German Wehrmacht insignia, or something to that effect. I am just a little bit miffed with the fact that I have just seen an advert on 'farce-book' from ebay, somebody selling a selection of German SS Panzer Divisions Insignia stickers.. so by fart-books standards, it is ok to share such images, if it is in a paid for advert.. as long as facebook get their money..

Ja, wo viel Licht ist, da ist auch Schatten :) Der Bausatz ist, wie fast alles was ich bisher von Takom gebaut habe, ein bisschen unausgegoren, kein Vergleich zu den Bausätzen anderer Top-Hersteller.
Den Spruch verwende ich tatsächlich selten, aber manchmal passt er eben gut und dann ist er fällig :) Komisch schauen die Leute ja sowieso die meiste Zeit, da kommt es auf einmal mehr oder weniger auch nicht an.

Das haben mir schon einige Leute gezeigt, ist irgendwie seltsam und auch lustig. Da ich mir das selbst überlegt und scratchgebaut habe wäre es ein sehr großer Zufall, wenn es so etwas als Bausatz gäbe. Das Plagiat ist jedenfalls weitaus früher fertig geworden als das Original, sozusagen ist es dadurch auch eni Original auf seine Art :D
