I think authority is important, but more important is understanding that God’s law is an un changeable natural law. Deviation from the law damages us and separates us from God who is life. The fact that the Catholics changed the law shows that they believe God’s law is arbitrary and changeable. This leads to the idea that God is arbitrary and changeable. In their estimation, sin doesn’t kill, God does. The Bible says that sin causes death. A person’s view of the law orients you to either worship the Creator God or lawless one. The change seems insignificant or a minor thing. However, the Sabbath is God’s seal. In changing that law, the Catholic Church stripped it as the seal of God and made it the mark of her authority. The Sabbath is so much more significant than most people realize. It symbolizes the type of relationship we are to have with God. God made everything in 6 days, demonstrating incredible power, but after He created Adam and Eve, he came down to rest and develop a personal relationship with them. This showed that a love relationship with God is the desire of God’s heart; oneness. We could rest in Him. The Sabbath is the relationship law. This is the seal on our hearts and minds. This is what God calls us back to. Remember how it was when God first created humanity, that’s the kind of relationship He desires above all else, to be at one with us again.
I don't follow religions, just the Bible. There are too many denominations and too many lies being revealed. Holy days, not holidays (which few seem to respect). That's why focusing on Ellen White is a problem ,in SDA. I had her declaired a prophetess, by an elder. It's a biggy appointed number of prophets, then he sent His own Son. Then sent Ellen White? Smells as off as prawns in the sun to me. I enjoy the content. Good stuff.
You have spoken a mistruth, the Bible doesn't say that "even the elect can be deceived," that is representation of Scripture, it says quite clearly "he deceives all who live on the Earth, even the very elect if that where possible!".... meaning of for sure is that the elect won't be deceived, no matter how close they are to being because the Lord ensures they will not be! God is Sovereign over His Salvation and we can trust His promises to us that indeed we are fully saved, those who have Trusted God for Grace.
