Something I noticed is how when Lilith referred to King as her nephew, The Collector took it so threateningly because of how Belos treated Hunter who was his "nephew". That's all the collector saw as an example of nephews so it'd make sense collector is so protective
37:59 The Owl House fandom in episode 2: "I miss Raine so much, I hope nothing bad happens to them." Dana and the Owl House Writers, with evil happy faces and probably baseball bats: "Yeahhhh, hold that thought,"
I absolutely will not forgive them for this atrocity. My sweet precious angel baby never deserved this and I hope to God that Eda will IMMEDIATELY recognize that Raine is not being themselves and tries to help them
⚠️Spoilers⚠️ The scene where we meet luz's palisman and everyone was guessing what the fandom was guessing was particularly awesome, even as such a miner detail.
No because Hunter’s reaction to magic plants is the calmest we’ve seen. Usually people freak out if a sentient vine tries to wrap you up but he just stared because he isn’t afraid of plant magic because of Willow. If anything his first thought was “Is Willow trying to cheer me up?” Before he realizes something’s off and it’s just so fucking wholesome and sweet.
Has anyone noticed that Raine was crying when Belos possessed them? The goop that drip off their cheek was their tear. They know! So that means everyone is self aware without being able to move freely. That also means that Raine knows that Eda was visiting them 😢
As someone who ships Huntlow/Winter, I SCREAMED and CRIED for joy during this episode. They way Hunter helped Willow while she was panicking was amazing. And the little hand holding at the end was BEAUTIFUL. On another note, Luz's palisman is SO CUTE! I love Stringbean's tail. This episode was awesome, although, based on the murals of the Titans and Collectors in the background, and the side plot with Caleb, I'm worried how much lore has to be pushed aside.
Dana is a genious. people were theorizing so much about her palisman to be a bat, a snake, a scorpion, and dana just threw it all up and said: "ok, we will do them all in one"
Everyone was right about Gus knowing about Hunter being a grimwalker during the day of unity. He is such a good friend! The fact that he waited (for months) and secretly tried to help Hunter come to terms with telling everyone else and then tries to shift the blame on himself for not addressing it before Luz is kinda heartbreaking.
@@quartzsienes8033 It was in the season 2 finale when they faced Belos, I'm pretty sure. Gus used his powers on Belos to make him relive some of his darker memories and in doing so, Gus was able to see into his mind. You can tell when Hunter saves Gus right after that by Gus' shocked look when the blue in his eyes from his power disappears.
Guys I just realized that Tinella Nosa was right in the pilot episode --> "the world is a simulation we are but play things for a higher being" I'm pretty stupid for not seeing that but that's crazy. She was right.
First, "Suck a Cactus" and now "Kiss my Grass"? Yes, I approve. XD Also, Hunter's gasp when he realizes Camilla is just as big of a Frontier fan as him as she makes a book reference is so freaking cute!!!!!!
I like how Willow has spent the last season, and really ever since she met Luz, discovering her true potential, getting over her insecurities, and training to be the best, most powerful witch she could be. But when faced with an apocalyptic scenario like this, where her family is in peril and her arch rival is in charge, she starts internally panicking and doubting herself again, thinking she has to keep it together for the team. And as it builds up, she starts to lose control of her magic, until it nearly cosumes her. Only by admitting her fears and letting her emotions out, does she regain control, and is able to pull through, and be a strong member of the team again. It's okay not to be strong all the time, it's okay to let people know if it's too much, and it's okay to show your emotions. Some, (like Boshca) might give you a hard time, but others, (Like Hunter and Gus) will be there to reassure you and give you the support you need.
I agree 100%. Willow has gotten the chance to express how she really feels in the episode. After experiencing so much and coming face-to-face with her puppetized father, she started to struggle. As of late, she has been working on being a independent and strong Witch. But when it comes to her being reliable, which she has strength in, it's just too much for everyone to seemingly rely on her alone. This episode I feel like her struggles were finally acknowledged and we got to tap into how Willow is tackling her whole situation. Willow had to repeatedly tell herself she could do it, when she has the right to be afraid and unsure of the future. Camilla in the beginning of the episode even spoke to Willow and let her know, it's okay to feel scared! She is just a kid, and she's been through so much like everyone else. I hope Willow continues to become the full Witch Willow, and that in the end she can rely on others too.
A lot of ppl who dismiss Willow don’t seem to get that her arc is fairly simple but relatable. She had a lot of self doubt, felt weak, etc. and within s2 you see her trying to change herself. Sure she doesn’t appear that often, but she’s doing some growing outside of her relationship with Luz. And cuz she’s so adamant on being strong, she doesn’t want to show weakness again, even in this horribly sad and stressful scenario
1. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT HUNTER AND FLAPJACK’S MAGIC!!! 2. The Collector is so cute. He doesn’t deserve to be manipulated like this… they just wanted someone to play with 😢 3. Willow’s gradual breakdown in this episode broke my heart 4. Why do I get the feeling Luz and Stringbean’s magic potential is massive?
I'm honestly upset there wasn't enough time for Willow to let it ALL out... Like, boy she has a crush on died in her arms in the episode before that. Kind of a big, painful, traumatizing deal to see when you're 15.
I agree with that aspect because Odalia has been nothing but a controlling, manipulative witch to her so-called family that she's turned into a travesty (RWBY reference, anyone?😉😉😉). We all want her to experience what's it like to be "controlled" by someone like Belos.
I love how Dana put so many relatable things in the scenes with willow and how you could visibly see the tension with the team and how it eventually brought them all together instead of crumbling apart. Edit: Thank you for all the likes, I hope everyone has a good day when they see this 😊
@@candyblackgarden I wasn't talking about them being dramatic I was saying a lot of people would probably relate to how willow was trying to keep all of the things that she's gone through like how she got bullied by Basha, and started doubting herself and how no one ever asked if she was okay. Yk
I didn't catch that in my first watch, but I empathize with it so much. I try to be the rock of my family. I do everything to help everyone else. If I'm in pain (physical or emotional), I ignore it and push through to do what's needed of me. It's not healthy and I'm trying to work on giving myself permission to have me-time, but my natural instinct is to ignore my own needs and do what others need. It can feel like you're being extremely selfish just to spend some time doing what you love and allowing yourself to hurt.
So, to recap: 1. The Collector is basically Homelander Jr 2. Everyone on the Boiling Isles is a literal puppet 3. Hexside is now basically Lord of the Flies 4. Kikimora is still the worst 5. Odalia is exactly where she belongs 6. Boscha has been simping over Amity all along 7. Raine Whispers now needs an exorcist 8. Willow needs even more therapy than we thought 9. Hunter is basically Nightcrawler now 10. Luz finally has a Palisman
Agree with everything you said except the first point. The Collector may be a god living amongst mortals, but he's also far less inclined to sociopathic violence (like _The Boys'_ Homelander is and the path he's trying to guide his son down) and seems to show some care for the others that he involves with his games. Its still nowhere close to the normal, healthy viewpoint needed, but he is a god with the mindset of lonely child desperate for friends and attention. Kind of like Luz at the start of the series. With that said, I'd say the Collector is basically early season 1 Luz combined with another character from _Gravity Falls_ with similar elder god-tier reality manipulation and atypical views of how to interact with others (albeit with far less intentionally malicious motives). I won't say which character in case Elijah is reading this, but those who have seen _Gravity Falls_ know who I'm referring to. And I can only imagine the shock she'll get when she hears said character speak for the first time.
Kikimora is based. Instead of just running and not looking back, she found disguises for both her and her Abomitron, attempted to build a new nation from the survivors, and went mad with power. Hot damn.
@@alexschott2092 Yeah, they made it a point to show the Collector isn't actually evil, just a kid. I have a feeling Camilla is going to stop him with her mom powers. "Mama Odalia" makes it pretty clear he wants a mother figure. Odalia is just the worst choice he could have possibly made. Camilla will actually be able to figure out what he really needs.
Y’all remember when Luz carved an egg and said something like: I want it to be able to choose it’s own path. So letting it become anything it wants was a genius idea. They really included all of the fan theories as well - I like how Amity thinks it’s an otter, Willow thinks it’s a bat, and Gus thinks it’s a snake. It’s also kind of funny because Amity was the only person to have seen Luz’s otter costume in the grom episode.
Okay but where did Gus got the ideo of it being a snake? Did Luz told him the time she almost killed the principal with a snake? I mean we know where Willow got the bat idea coz that's luz's phone case but the snake tho
Willow and Hunter slowly becoming Canon makes me wish they gave us more episodes, because i still think that their relationship could use more development but i'm sure a lot of people would think that another shipping arc is the last thing that this show needs.
I don’t think we r getting a full on relationship with the two of them. We get the beginnings of their feelings, and we know they’ve spent time talking offscreen, like Luz and Amity. But since so many things r happening, besides acknowledging their feelings I don’t think we will get a proper on screen relationship like Lumity. That’s more of a post series thing. Honestly I feel like their relationship did proceed similarly to Lumity, since it did skip over things between episodes and we only got their major milestones
I'm absolutely positive that we would have more development from Boscha and Odalia if we had more episodes since it was hinted at when Boscha saved new Hexide from Kikimiki and when Odalia was trying to remake the boiling isles into something better (albeit with her in charge but probably, hopefully, with the intent of having a good life for her family)
In the episode where belos betrays the collector, you can here the collector say "you pinky promised" and "you liar". I feel bad for the collector he's just a kid who doesn't know any better.
Something I noticed in this episode: When Hunter is pacing while Camila talks to Willow and Gus, he hears a noise. He turns around to look and grabs the air as if he is holding Flapjack. 🙁
I know Luz's emotional journey isn't over yet, but I love how, after her and Camilla's reconciliation helped her realize what she wanted in life, you can see her spark slowly coming back. On another note, the moment she had the realization that she wanted people to understand her, she officially became my new favorite optimistic goofball who has hidden depths in a cartoon ever! Characters like SpongeBob, Phineas Flynn, and Winnie the Pooh are wonderful, but they're still very stagnant characters. You know something like, say, SpongeBob standing up to Mr. Krabs, Pooh accepting that Christopher's not going to be part of his life forever, or Phineas learning Perry's secret aren't going to have a big effect on them. Characters like Todd, Steven Universe, Aang, Dory, Joy, Morty, Marcy Wu, and (spoilers, since you're still watching the show) Soos and Mabel DO go on emotional journeys that cause them to grow as people at the end, but there's something about Luz's imagination, her self doubt, her people pleasing tendencies, and how much of an outcast she feels that I connect with. Every moment she gets traumatized and loses her self worth, it's really hard to get through, but I mean that in the best way, because it helps her grow as a person. I'm really excited to see how her journey of self discovery ends, even if I know it's gonna be heavy. But I trust Dana and her team to end it in a way that's satisfying and beautiful.
yess! i feel like Luz being understood by Camila was a first step, but she still hasn't told her friends about planning to stay in the human realm, so she still has alot to go through, and i agree with every single damn word you said!
@@twist_ending7545 I never said it was 💀 and I don't rly care about ships but they're cute so I'm fine with them being together, I just care about the main story
@@babeebel meaning it didn't need to happen. If it was the plan before the show was shortened and they still chose to have it in the show in a super rushed form
It’s actually funny that they addressed Willow this episode because for the past two I realized she became the Mom/reliable/rock of the group when she has her own fair share of things going on. Last episode I was just amazed by her leadership and calm thinking and how she kept helping others in the background without talking about her own feelings. I’m glad they finally touched on it-especially through Gus and Hunter since they’re her closest friends.
Well, they could have added Luz too, since she was also one of her closest friends. But Luz was also having a big moment with her palisman coming to life at the same time Willow was having her mental breakdown, or also adding amity since Amity and her are not the closest friends but they do have a story and a impact on each other. But I do get why they choose Gus and Hunter. Gus was there with her since day 1 and there was like a little spark between her and Hunter since they’re 1st day (even though Hunter was still on the emperor’s coven. And I also love how Hunter is the one who calms her down because right there he also expressed some of his feelings too because he wasn’t treated that good at the emperor’s coven. And then he meets Willow and the others and they treat him the way that he was never treated before in his life. And as we can see, Willow and Flapjack changed him the most. That’s why Hunter feels so emotional when he sees Willow like that. The same person who helped him change is the same person who at the moment was not feeling good. So he feels the urge to save her the same way she saved him when he was feeling down. And even tho he doesn’t say it directly. That’s the message that he was trying to reflect when he says “You guys mean the world to me” and Willow understood what he meant to say and that calmed her down. But anyways this just my point of view
I do appreciate the call out for willows feelings because we have seriously lacked willow episodes in season 2 and basically her only episode was Any sport in a storm which turned out to be more hunter based. I appreciate how much willow has grown and I love that they gave her some time to develop even this late in the show!
@@leiaorganaskywalkersolo9504 Yeah she’s her friend but she’s really wrapped up in Amity a majority of the time, which is typical for most couples and certain close friends.
I love how Camila and Luz are meant to be mother and daughter, they are really alike, they both like cute things like king, they both had tears when they first flew, and both of them are huge fantasy nerds, it’s so good how they show it.😅😂
This episode, in my opinion, firmly roots it in my mind that Camila is the best Disney mom thus far. There's already been moments but, giving Kikimiki what she deserved? Chefs kiss!
I just realized after watching this over again, that Miki and Roka is just Kiki's name but split up and scrambled. It was so obvious from the get go LOL
I’m surprised Elijah didn’t notice when Luz pulled her head away form Amity when she kissed her head in Edas nest. I think it’s because Luz was again- determined to make herself sad.
Even after all of this, I still feel sorry for the Collector. He literally doesn't know any better and King is the only real friend he's had since he was trapped. King is the only one who understands that Collector has no malicious intent and tries to explain that what he's doing is wrong. Everyone else just threatens or and attacks him on sight, so of course he's going to fight back. I hope at some point he loses his godlike powers and gets to grow up as normal human or witch.
I don't think Boscha had a crush on Amity, it seems more like she had abandonment issues. Also, when she talks to Willow about being responsible for your team, not letting it fall apart and "Titan forbid you show any weakness", it reminds me of Season 1 Amity, so i think Boscha probably grew up in a very similar enviroment where she was forced to be perfect
Woah, i just thought she based her personality in her talent and that because now there wasn't anybody else in the team she wanted Amity back, but i see everyone else is psychoanalyzing her xD
NOOOO - Denial Take Odalia- Bargaining AGHHHHHHHHH- Anger Of course you would go for Raine, the writers know how to attack our hearts! -Depression I fell for it… (resumes episode) -Acceptance
I LOVE that Luz’s greatest desire is just to be understood. Did all the outcast hearts instantly turn to mush? That was one of the greatest moments of all time
I actually cried. Luz is the character who helped me realise that being a nerd and 'weird' is okay, not to mention my sexuality, and that scene hit me hard.
I am hoping for these three things to happen in the final episode; 1-Another Lumity kiss 2-Luz and Amity say "I love you" to each other......the good way 3-Luz and Amity are still together and able to see each other when the credits roll.
we NEED a winter/hunlow big confirming moment, and what luz's palisman looks like when she flies it (lokey hoping it shifts into something with wings but it can be whatever)
OK, but Luz saying all she ever wanted was to be understood just hits so hard. Ever since I switched schools after 4th grade, I’ve always seen myself as different and weird compared to everyone else, and I felt like everyone saw it too. Because of this, I felt so alone and I didn’t think anyone wanted to be my friend because of it. After I graduated, I rejoined a Discord server I was inactive in, and I finally felt like I was understood. While I still don’t feel fully understood, due to being in niche fanbases like TWEWY and Trauma Team, it was LEAGUES better than where I was before. When we’re so different compared to everyone else and no one sees anything but the bad about it, all us weirdos ever wanted was to be understood. And seeing a show have that as its theme means everything to me. That being said, considering Luz’s revelation that brought about her palisman and the imagery behind the Collector’s murals, I believe that the Collector also felt misunderstood due to his playful and chaotic nature being seemingly different from all the other collectors. It probably explains why he wanted friends all this time, especially in King. What this leads up to is that I think Luz is going to try to help the Collector realize that he wanted the same thing she wanted: to be understood. And I think Luz is going to help him find a way to be understood by either the other collectors or the people in the Boiling Isles so that everything can go back to normal and that everyone can coexist. That’s my theory about the finale.
There's so much ya can interpret from Belos little sidequest and hallucinations this episode. I also just love how the Gus/Hunter/Willow friendship has become such a prominent little group and its nice to see them all support each other. The Huntlow scenes were also adorable and its cute to see that they finally have started to own up to their feelings while still being a relatively new thing for both of them. Raine continues to catch no breaks
I kind of see Belos being dragged into the underworld by Caleb and all the Hunters he cloned I don’t know why, but I think it would be an awesome way for him to go
Things I loved about this episode: Luz finally learning to accept and love herself the way her friends and family love her Hunter has some magic now Willow learning she can still be strong and show emotion Camila is still the best mom Boscha’s control freak mini-arc Matt is a decent guy now Kikimora’s mini empire arc King has really grown up Eda is the best still Belos is really villainous here, possessing Raine and using their puppet body to manipulate the Collector is honestly smart. The Collector really is shown to be a kid at heart, and a good one, who really just wants to play and have fun, but doesn’t really know how to without hurting others Stringbean was the best choice. Luz wanted her palisman to be whatever they wanted, and Stringbean chose to literally be anything she wants. It is the most thematic and symbolic choice. What I didn’t like: Itunes uploaded the special TWO WEEKS before it was supposed to be up, and then jerks leaked it more. I got the experience of viewing it spoiled by RUclips, but the episode really was very good upon my official watching of it on Disney Channel’s RUclips account this morning.
That scene with the bloody knife is probably the most gore we've seen in a Disney animated property since Sleeping Beauty, which came out all the way back in 1959
I love this episode. Willow and Hunter and grown so much and Amity’s character development is incredible. King has matured a lot and it’s making me cry just thinking about it.
I find it hilarious that Elijah was talking about her theories and the live chat was just chanting "PIZZA BAGELS" like the absolute cult that we are as a fandom
Her hatred for kikimora was so powerful she immediately saw through the disquise lol... Also after Raine (who was already puppetfied- ) was posessed... my thoughts EXACTLY
37:30 - 38:15 - Speaking as a writer (admittedly, mostly of fanfiction) who also knows *other* writers, this is exactly the kind of reaction most writers hope for from their fans
Well that doesn't change the fact that those same writers will never ever have my forgiveness unless they save Raine and have them marry Eda, otherwise I hate them for life now
Elijah: So he can turn them into his puppets My brain: I'm not a fan of puppeteers, but I have a nagging fear someone else is pulling at the strings (that is actually really fitting for the whole situation)
In other words, you feel that the Collector is like a young, playful yet dangerous version of the Beldam from "Coraline", only less...buggy (no pun intended) and in reverse. I mean, the symbols on the people's foreheads is vaguely familiar with how the Beldam sews buttons over the children's eyes.
There are so many things we can talk about in this episode. First of, what the Collector did to the Boiling Isles is kinda interesting, combining Weirdmageddon with the colors of Mabel's Bubble. It's funny how Camila adapted somewhat fast to the Boiling Isles, and her motherhood was crucial to all the kids. She kinda saw that Willow and Gus were getting stressed due to having a lot of things to worry about, and she saw that Hunter was focused on knowing Belos's whereabouts. But the key moment was her heart-to-heart talk with Luz, I'm glad she was there when her daughter was crying due to not knowing what to do and making mistakes and her inner conflict with staying or not on the Boiling Isles - it's funny how they are so similar in some regards. What a cruel fate of being turned into puppets, but are they still alive? Hooty was able to speak momentarily with Lillith, but we don't know why; maybe it because of family/love bonds? That can help when Luz and the others arrive at the Collector's home and try to save their families. Also, how in the Titan's name was Odalia able to escape from being turned into a puppet? The Collector is a mysterious character, he has phenomenal cosmic powers, but he's afraid of something. What is the secret behind that scribbled message; who's referred in the "should they meddle in our affairs, we'll clean the planet and scorch the air", is it the Collector or the demon realm? The only problem is that King is understandable of the entire situation and sees that they're still a kid who's been alone for a long time. King understood that seal the Collector again won't help, because they won't change how they feel inside, with the heart remaining in turmoil and the anger simply not vanished. I can't see a road ahead to stop this madness and save everyone... New Hexside was certainly not what I was expecting with the new rule, under Boscha, and Mat Tholomule being the rebel and devise multiple plans of helping others for the future was really good. He's getting points for new development. As for Boscha, I can't believe she was still that delinquent witch who just wanted to rule school and when things went wrong she wanted Amity back in her group, just like in the old days. She didn't know that Amity has grown up, while Boscha was left behind. If we could had a new season of the show, maybe we could've had Boscha have a redemption of some sorts, but I'm glad she was able to pull a last moment good side, fighting against Kikimora. I loved the story behind Ghost's bond with Amity, of not knowing what did she wanted to be, and that kinda helped when Luz realized her true wish - wanting to be understood; it's a strange but a powerful wish. All her life, Luz was a little light that wanted people to see her, but nobody understood the reasons behind this. Then when she arrived at the Demon Realm, she really grew up, made friends, learned magic, found love, and through time, the denizens watched and discovered this 'light'. She was lost after being drown in guilt, but her mother helped cleared the path, and that's what a mother should do. Finally, Luz's palisman has been born; I kinda like the name Stringbean. I love the little orb in its tail, the idea of a shapeshifting snake reminds me of Vee and the color scheme is simply perfect. Camila had a beautiful reaction, I just hope Eda has it too. Now please, for the love of Titan, don't you dare do anything to Camila's babies. Of course I couldn't left behind Belos. It's horrifying the idea of still having a couple of Grimwalker corpses lying in his lair, and the allucinations of his brother and the other Golden Guards were great in showing us that he's not in a good mental shape. However, it was heartless the way he possessed Raine's puppet and the way he was able to put the Collector back into his control by showing King and Luz's group. I don't like the way the Collector said they wanted to play a new game. I'm not ready for the finale! Luz, King, whatever your plan is to save the Boiling Isles, I can only say: May your hearts be your guiding key.
Just a heads up that Elija reads the comments, so maybe it wouldn't be very good to mention things like "Weirdmaggedon" and "Mabel's Bubble", since those are spoilers for Gravity Falls
THIS EPISODE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Dana and her crew just continue to leave us on the edge of our seats. They have done such a fantastic job even with the shorten season and I cant not wait to see what episode 3 brings us
One of these days, I’m gonna write a short-book long essay about why I think Willow is amazing. I can’t write well but I’m totally still gonna do it. Secondly, seeing Caleb silently judging Belos like that is weirdly satisfying? And finally, I just finished processing that Steve’s full name is probably *Steve Tholomule,* and I don’t know how that makes me feel-
I love how much wish fulfillment happens in this episode. We see Camilla have the same reaction to King as Luz did, we learn more about Amity getting her Palisman, Willow gets some time to shine more, Camilla makes peace with her mistakes and embraces her inner geek, and Luz finally understands what she wanted and receives her Palisman. Season 3 might not be long, but it sure lives up to and surpasses all expectations.
I think they kinda foreshadowed that everyone were gonna be turned into toys because Tenela Nosa literally said “we are playthings for a higher being!” In the first episode
I actually started saying "NOOOO NOT RAINE MY SWEET PRECIOUS ANGEL BABY!!!! WHAT DID THEY DO TO DESERVE THIS???????" But you know in a whisper cause it was 1 am lmao
there's a reason the owl beast/curse took over it's because the collector was the one that turned it into a curse in the first place and it remembers the collector.💛💙
I literately loved this episode and I cried after I saw Luz’s Palisman. Her whole thing about being understood is so real. The whole scene with Willow reminded me of she-ra. When they went to beast island and got consumed in their negative thinking and self doubting. I literally screamed!!
Alright, so there's kinning a character, and then there's a character saying something you never realized you were trying to tell yourself This show just keeps climbing higher into leagues of its own
Part of me was like, of course the three most disliked women on the show (Terra, Odalia, and Kikimora) wormed their way into surviving the Collector’s wrath. Terra got turned eventually but still. I literally said the same thing Luz said before Kiki did her “surprise” reveal. Part of me wanted Bellos to take Odalia, but then thought Amity doesn’t need that level of trauma.
This episode was out of this world so many great moments,Huntlow 😍😍,Hunter getting Flapjack's powers,Kikimora trying to her best to be the main character,Camalia finally understanding and helping Luz love herself which finally got her Palisman to hatch and it's a snake shifter which definitely suits Luz best
Luz foreshadowed Stringbean's species when she first carved her! When Eda asks her why she carved an egg, Luz responds that she wanted the egg to have the choice of what it wanted to be. And it literally does!
47:04 - 47:34 no joke Elijah that whole explanation almost made me cry, considering how much I apologize at work if I mess up something and they always telling me it's ok and now I know but if I mess up something at home, it isn't ok, thank you for this, I needed that, felt tears literally coming up through that.
For anyone who feels it can still be seen as a “best friend” gesture, the pinky hold is an intimate gesture that suggests flirtation and playfulness. It’s a sign that the relationship between both parties is relaxed and built on firm trust and a strong bond. So Huntlow/Winter/Golden Garden stans, WE WON!!!!
I may have been against it but, they made sure to develop their characters through the relationship not flatten them. I shouldn't have expected any less from the owl crew.
The fact that Luz got a Chimera as her palismen is such a creative idea! I’m especially happy to see Hunter & Willow potentially getting a great ending together. Seeing Belos barely clinging to life, he reminds me of the offbrand depiction of the Wendigo in the videogame Until Dawn. But of course, very upset about Belos possessing Raine…cuz it’s explicitly to mess with Eda and keep her in check from using her Harpy powers against their body in the final battle. And assuming we get the reveal that Eveline was Eda’s ancestor, just as Caleb was stolen away by Eveline in Belos’ eyes, he intends to steal away and destroy Eda’s family member/significant other in Raine as revenge against the bloodline that stole everything from him.
It’s not a chimera, though I do see where you’re coming from in thinking that. Well….I guess it’s arguably a chimera? Chimeras take aspects from several different beasts and can use THOSE as they see fit, but has no ability to transform. String bean is technically a chimera in the sense that they take aspects from several different beasts and can use those, but it’s ability to transform and companionship kind of counters that
technically its more of a changeling. a chimera is just a fusion of multiple creatures (so technically, a mermaid is a chimera) whereas changelings actually change shape. A typical chimera is a lion's head, snake's tail, and goat's neck on the body (though there are other types).
I love that we got a desperate Boscha moment. Idk if it was Dana or someone else on her team who came up with it, but that was the only way I saw Boscha's character developing because that's how I would have written it, more or less. Just knowing that the writers had the same idea really makes me feel connected to the show.
Little thingy I noticed, it's funny how she said "Sash" to Bosha (38:45) it reminds me so much how S1 Sasha has nearly the EXACT SAME PERSONALITY as the Bosha we know of. Just a little funny note I heard 😅
I was literally in tears when Belos went and possessed Raine, like I was already emotional as it is but that definitely takes the cake. It didn't help the fact that I can't scream out my frustration and disbelief cuz my family's sleeping at that time. I know it's kinda wishful thinking, but If Eda doesn't snap them out of it by the power of true loves kiss, I AM CAUSING A RIOT
This is my new head canon, at first I was hoping that Eda would IMMEDIATELY notice something wasn't right with Raine and have a talk with the Collector about it like the cool Aunt she is then have the collector save Raine but now the idea of true loves kiss saving them is so much cuter and wholesome. OH WAIT, maybe instead she plays Raines Rhapsody and that snaps them out of it. I just want my sweet precious angel baby back 😭😭😭😭
Me and my sibling avoided every spoiler possible, and MAN did it pay off! We rewatched the episode literally after it premiered last night, and we pointed out all the foreshadowing and details (ex: the paintings in the Collector’s castle, etc.)
Stringbean is absolutely adorable, and a snake-y shapeshifter is definitely a perfect fit for Luz. Also, I can't believe they made me feel bad for Boscha. I mean, I still think Amity did the right thing by rejecting her, since she needs to learn to be better and accept Amity for who she actually is before anything else, but feelings were none the less felt. (And if her feelings are more than platonic... well, she'll have even *more* character development ahead of her before she can even *think* about asking Amity and Luz about that.)
BadGirlCoven I totally felt that too. Anthony Collazo, there’s no need or benefit from micro aggressions like that. That comment is super dismissive. I’m over just letting that particular micro aggression keep going unchecked.

Two main things: 1. For the finale: I love the idea that there will be a big two-in-one fight. What I mean is that it's two fights that both follow the same base character animation. And it would constantly be switching between POVs; Luz fighting the Collector, Hunter fighting Belos. It would be a great way to get some great moments in with using up as little time as possible. At one point they'd diverge: Luz&King talk things out with the Collector to try and find a middle ground, and Hunter burns the guy at the steak like a witch back in the 1600s. We could even have an "ancestors guide the present" thing where the Titan guides Luz through the battle and Caleb&ghosts guide Hunter. Noceda siblings go!! 2. The one critique I have is that the Boscha/Kiki/Hexide plot just felt like padding, I REALLY wanted some more Caleb/Phillip/Evelyn content, even some more Collector lore could have been added in. I'm not blaming anyone for this, just bummed out.
Something I noticed is how when Lilith referred to King as her nephew, The Collector took it so threateningly because of how Belos treated Hunter who was his "nephew". That's all the collector saw as an example of nephews so it'd make sense collector is so protective

It’s so ಥ‿ಥ ♡💗
Plant magic ftw honestly
Has anyone noticed that Raine was crying when Belos possessed them? The goop that drip off their cheek was their tear. They know! So that means everyone is self aware without being able to move freely. That also means that Raine knows that Eda was visiting them 😢

DANG you guys right legit essays
@@Balls_explode_cat it's a paragraph...
A lot of ppl who dismiss Willow don’t seem to get that her arc is fairly simple but relatable. She had a lot of self doubt, felt weak, etc. and within s2 you see her trying to change herself. @@candyblackgarden I wasn't talking about them being dramatic I was saying a lot of people would probably relate to how willow was trying to keep all of the things that she's gone through like how she got bullied by Basha, and started doubting herself and how no one ever asked if she was okay. Yk
The writing in this show has been top notch since Day 1
I didn't catch that in my first watch, but I empathize with it so much.
So, to recap:
1. The Collector is basically Homelander Jr
2. Everyone on the Boiling Isles is a literal puppet
3. Hexside is now basically Lord of the Flies
4. Kikimora is still the worst
5. Odalia is exactly where she belongs
6. Boscha has been simping over Amity all along
7. Raine Whispers now needs an exorcist
8. Willow needs even more therapy than we thought
9. Hunter is basically Nightcrawler now
Hot damn.
my perspective of 6 is less her simping for Amity and more a combination of codependency and abandonment issues
11. Huntlow/Winter is basically canon now.
Belos and Kikimiki being part of a club for grown adults that manipulate children because they’re just that desperate✨
I wanted Kiki to change! I don't care for Bosha!

@@BelBelle468 I'd like more personally but I don't think ending things with them at the start of their relationship is a bad call either

Such important things compared to the real story
Exactly
Elijah and the Owl House Fandom is literally going through the five stages of grief over here 😂😂
I will never forgive the writers for making belos possess Raine. They are my sweet baby angel child HOW COULD THEY!!!!
“All I’ve ever wanted was to be understood” WHEN I TELL YALL I STARTED BAWLING 😭
RIGHT!?
There's so much ya can interpret from Belos little sidequest and hallucinations this episode. I also just love how the Gus/Hunter/Willow friendship has become such a prominent little group and its nice to see them all support each other. The Huntlow scenes were also adorable and its cute to see that they finally have started to own up to their feelings while still being a relatively new thing for both of them. Raine continues to catch no breaks
I kind of see Belos being dragged into the underworld by Caleb and all the Hunters he cloned
I don’t know why, but I think it would be an awesome way for him to go
@@Blitzo8390 That's what I want. It'd be very Hollow Knight/ Jojo part 4

@@Blitzo8390 You mean like Palpatine's final defeat in Star Wars: Empire's End?
I agree that would be spectacular.
Things I loved about this episode:
Luz finally learning to accept and love herself the way her friends and family love her
Hunter has some magic now
Willow learning she can still be strong and show emotion
Camila is still the best mom
Boscha’s control freak mini-arc
Matt is a decent guy now
Kikimora’s mini empire arc
King has really grown up
Eda is the best still
Belos is really villainous here, possessing Raine and using their puppet body to manipulate the Collector is honestly smart.
The Collector really is shown to be a kid at heart, and a good one, who really just wants to play and have fun, but doesn’t really know how to without hurting others
Stringbean was the best choice. Luz wanted her palisman to be whatever they wanted, and Stringbean chose to literally be anything she wants. It is the most thematic and symbolic choice.
What I didn’t like:
Itunes uploaded the special TWO WEEKS before it was supposed to be up, and then jerks leaked it more.
I got the experience of viewing it spoiled by RUclips, but the episode really was very good upon my official watching of it on Disney Channel’s RUclips account this morning.
thankfully i was able to avoid spoilers this time, all thanks to preparation after true colors. what's beyond me is how the FUCK this happened TWICE.
Its the way she made the connection to Kiki and Miki immediately when I didn't even realise till they revealed it.
That scene with the bloody knife is probably the most gore we've seen in a Disney animated property since Sleeping Beauty, which came out all the way back in 1959
I love how Camila is trying to help out by learning gliphs!!! So sweet and badass!!!
I was so happy about that.
I love this episode. Willow and Hunter and grown so much and Amity’s character development is incredible. King has matured a lot and it’s making me cry just thinking about it.
Luz: *comes back to the boiling isles*
Stringbean: *exists for 30 seconds*
Colector: *thanos snap*
"NOOOO TAKE ODALIA!!"
I love this more than I probably should
I love how she said “ok listen sash!” I love how she meant basha😂
I find it hilarious that Elijah was talking about her theories and the live chat was just chanting "PIZZA BAGELS" like the absolute cult that we are as a fandom
Fr tho I wish that she would have reacted to that part on yt tho
Willow's been hiding her emotions. She's been trying so much to take care of everyone. I love her so much.
kinda reminded me of Katara tryna keep the gang together that one time
Camila: KIKIMIKI!
Tomotasauce: It’s canon now
loll
Dana was watching and must have said yea okay i have to
Wow
What upsets me the most is that Elijah missed the blush from Willow after Hunter saved her at 50:13
oh my god, I was just noticed that:O
Me too! I'm trying to let her know and give her thoughts on it!
I love the fact that you *immediately* clocked on to kikimiki when so many people didn’t even notice her 😂
Her hatred for kikimora was so powerful she immediately saw through the disquise lol...
Also after Raine (who was already puppetfied- ) was posessed... my thoughts EXACTLY
I'm sad she didn't notice how Kiki sounded cuter. But I'm also not surprised because she's never seen miraculous! XD
37:30 - 38:15 - Speaking as a writer (admittedly, mostly of fanfiction) who also knows *other* writers, this is exactly the kind of reaction most writers hope for from their fans
Well that doesn't change the fact that those same writers will never ever have my forgiveness unless they save Raine and have them marry Eda, otherwise I hate them for life now
Season 3:
Ep 1:VERY GOOD!
EP2:PERFECT
EP3:WILL BE EPIC
See I was fooled by Miki and Roca because I genuinely forgot Kikimora existed
Elijah: So he can turn them into his puppets
My brain: I'm not a fan of puppeteers, but I have a nagging fear someone else is pulling at the strings
(that is actually really fitting for the whole situation)

DISCORDDD
I cried during Luz and Camila's conversation and then KEPT crying through Willow and Hunter's. 😭
Great reaction!!
Hunter and Gus chanting "Beam us up" was so cute!!!
I think they kinda foreshadowed that everyone were gonna be turned into toys because Tenela Nosa literally said “we are playthings for a higher being!” In the first episode
I love how we all had the same reaction to belos taking raine
We all just SCREAMED
I was literally punching walls lmao 😭
Oh man, that's right. It is like that scene
Please stop saying certain ships remind you of she-ra. Especially if it's Catra as that ship is toxic.

LMFAO she did better then me honestly, I was like: “WOAHHH LUZ PALISMEN IS A GALAXY!? THATS SO COOL” 💀💀
You all heard her! No more spoilers!
Also I just love the fact that Luz and Camila both had the same reaction to King. ^^
Alright, so there's kinning a character, and then there's a character saying something you never realized you were trying to tell yourself
This show just keeps climbing higher into leagues of its own
“This is gonna be a Hunter struggling episode”
SIKE! EVERYONE IS STRUGGLING!
The Struggle is Real.
I may or may not have squeeed when I saw that... They just make sense.
I saw this comment and thought you were talking about king and the collector 😭
I had a huge asthma attack once I saw them touch pinkies
Holding pinkies is one of the most intimate gestures you can do.
@@ArcherWillows doesn't it have to be three or more to be considered a chimera?
I can already hear you yelling KIKI-BITCH in this episode 😂
I think I said "Oh, it's this bitch" at the reveal. 🤣
Also, I've been looking forward to seeing Hunter inheriting Flapjack's Flash Step ability since the end of Thanks to Them.
Hunter saving Willow almost made me cry 😭😭
They are too precious for this world 😭😭❤❤
47:59 this is my absolute favorite part, I cannot watch it without tearing up it's so beautiful

no need to argue guys, it's fine, i took the comment as trying to make me feel better so thank u!
Two main things:
