This sport is insane. These guys just have to be crazy to do it.I have mad respect for these guys.85 mph head first, down an ice hill, on a cookie sheet with skate blades, what could go wrong lmfao. Thanks for the post.
People have genuinely died doing skeleton (and luge). I ice skate and snowboard and that's dangerous enough for me thank you!
.
that final curve is BRUTAL
Literally cos a luge slider died on it.
Once I saw a broom... now I'm watching 2 hour heats from 2010...
GOOD LORD BRUH Theyre like hitting their shoulders on the wall so hard
Crazy thing with that finish is that Dukurs put up the second fastest run of heat 4, Montgomery just had the run of his life to snag gold.
it was the run of his life Montgomery was 57 hundredths ahead of Tretyakov when he jumped on his sled he was a second ahead of the Russian at the bottom. Dukurs had the better start time he was 4.53 compared to Montgomery who was 4.61 but his load speed was a tenth of a kilometre worse than Montgomery's was 67.5 compared 67.4. By the time we got to the gold rush 50/50 section of the track it followed him all the way down his speed before gold rush was 1.5kph down on Montgomery 129.6 versus 131.1 and his top speed as a result was down by a kilometre 143.8 vs 144.8 that's why he took the wild line coming through Thunderbird. His lead was decreasing from -28 to -23 to -15 to -8 going into Thunderbird and he lost nearly a tenth through Thunderbird due to his lack of speed.
9:34 "noo wayyy , hahaha"
Don't text and skeleton.
How do you train for this kind of sport
Just like how you see them doing it
Grow large balls.
I imagine it starts by sledding down a snowy hill on a garbage can lid at age 4.
Awesome video!
I was sort of hoping all the competitors would be skeletons but this is cool too I guess
y'all are saying about how dangerous this is but i actually sort of want to try this
SURVIVAL OF THE Fittest, go try it
haha you say this now
Me too
If you still want to EM. Most countries do public tryouts to join the national team. Or find your nearest track and you can pay to have a run
The bells are so annoying.
Youssef Elomari i agree
Same
This was a great final!
i would like the winter games every year!!!:D
But not this year...
This looks really cool
All these guys in 40 years with their matching shoulder replacements.
All I can say to this sport is.....WHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
This comment is so underrated
Idk why this looks so fun
So cool
This would be fun but scary at the same time
aaaaaand i just discovered a new sport
That now makes two of us.
ruclips.net/video/mpFJs-ftwdQ/видео.html +NGEternal
Make it 3
1:06:07 cooooooool !!!
Where do I sign up?
Good
The last curve is berry dangerous.
Is this sport too late to start at the age 23?
Also how do you find clubs that teach skeleton in your area?
theres lake placid ny and whistler in canada. those are the ones im aware of.
3wonka By the look of the age of these guys I would say 23 is def. not too old to start.Depends on how fast you learn I guess. If you're gonna try it I say good luck to ya man, you're gonna need it.
Looks like u would need a good core and ability to stay calm under pressure . What is the public experience like compared to competetive?
Where are Run 1 and Run 2? I can't find it.
144 km an hour head first...
thrilling & dangerous
While it's especially true in the sliding sports that the host nation has an advantage, it was totally fair. Dukars took a high line on the final curve (which he didn't do in the previous run) and that's most likely what dropped him to second.
Does someone know where I could find the 1st part
時速67キロまではあんまり本気出さへんけど、あっという間に加速していくからものすごい迫力があるね
I want to do this how can i
21:46 that is one scary helmet
I love it how do people do that
I love your pfp
Every little boys dream
Where is Jon Montgomery?
How do you even get into this?... Mental patients welcome :)
The last right hand bend at Vancouver is just wrong. The best in the world all whack their shoulders into it. And that Georgian luge racer had his fatal launch in that spot. I wonder if they will alter the design there. (posted Feb 2014)
actually you posted in March...
mailliwenots Maybe in your time zone it was already March.
Do you have any knowledge of why that corner is so bad? Was that ever acknowledged by Vancouver as bad course design? It sure does seem like a brutal corner for the athletes. Some navigated it pretty well but others could have really gotten hurt.
did this take place on the same track as the luge where nodar died?
Yes. Whistler. Coming out of the last curve just before the finish is where he died.
Ну надо же пересматриваю и думаю ( а он сейчас погибнет ) он заслужил эту победу
how is this not the most dangerous sport in the world?
you know, going head forward 80+ miles per hour isnt scary at all. just a fact, in a car you can have a fatal crash on 55 mph
sfeXman and on nothing more than a cookie sheet too
yankees29 That's what I'm sayin, these guys take a pounding. It's def in the top 5 in my book. You hit an ice wall head first at over 85 mph nothing good is gonna happen.I have mad respect for these crazy guys, props to em'.
The biggest question is, how are these guys able to see through those helmets, knowing full well how dangerous it is not to have visors on them.
did anyone else see the gigantic hats?
That's how you mount the podium when you've just won gold. Love it.
Крутяк))
MASSIVE balls of titanium.
this is crazy! my solders got tense
the solders on the motherboard in your computer? or your shoulders?
Lmao
Martins Dukurs Nr.1 in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spooky scary skeleton

Agreed! With those hard hits on the last turn.

Quiero intentarlo 🤤😂
Dukuram vajadzēja jau tad uzvarēt ((
...
Looks more like a flying coffin than a skeleton.
最高時速146キロってリニアがゴムタイヤで走るくらいの速度やね
Whats with the cowbells...
CANADA!
Canada is fuckin stupid. They are too retarded to cheer so shake bells like fuckin morons.
TJ NightTrain Ice racers everywhere shake cowbells, it actually originated in Switzerland.
I guess it's nice to know you're American though? I don't even know.
TJ NightTrain I here a fair bit of cheering from the Canadians so clearly they are not too "retarded" to do so. Also, using the word "retarded" as an insult is just wrong. As for the cowbells, you here those in tons of sports.
+TJ NightTrain i know this was two years ago. but. chill
this is just all kinds of messed up
هذا هوالسبوراللي انقولولو عدنا لعب الذررر .........هههههههه
What's the point people will do anything for entertainment or for what they call a medal this is stupidity
They did all that and only got a shitty bouquet afterwards? Great...
Esto es realmente estupido
Y is it call skeleton? Is it because everyone breaks their skeleton in this sport? :D
cause the sledge looks like one
。う
First time I've ever seen this yikes
Slip and slide level: Satan
Too dangerous a sport for me. Way too fast.
Jesus loves you so much❤️. I was addicted to porn for almost 6 years of my life, I was on drugs, alcohol and I hated people. Jesus set me free and he can set you free aswell ❤️. Just call out to him, give your life to him, and he will save you!
