    Not sure how anyone can put a thumbs down to this. Best part is you can actually hear the coach Marcel Lacroix pounding the ice at 1:12.28. Plus the 2nd place Yanks and Sven with the 3rd place Dutch show great sportsmanship and also embody the Olympic spirit.

      Oddly I didn't mind taking 2nd place to our neighbors to the north, glad that both teams showed such good sportsmanship after the race.

    If one team skates on the inside and one team skates on the outside, wouldn't the team on the inside have to cover less distance and therefore have an advantage?

    • @Mad666Leo
      @Mad666Leo 10 лет назад +1

      They would change lanes during the race. But here you can see that they all start on same inside lane

    16:27 why did that guy on the front (Team Norway) kick his leg up like that?

    • @gibranalif3247
      @gibranalif3247 3 года назад

      The lap time determined at the moment when "front tip of the third skater crosses the finish line." Must be noted that the skate must touch the ice so it would be legally accepted. But, who is the third guy? The third guy is the person who crosses the finish line last (any part of body/equipment, not just the front tip of skate touching the ground).
      So, I think the guy in Norway team wanted to make sure that he is the first guy. And you can see the second finisher in Korean team do it as well. That is why the race time of Korean team recorded like that in 16:36 eventhough the second finisher skate had not cross the finish line yet.
      Sorry for the bad English, I hope you understand😇

      How? Cause they won the bronze medal? Athletes are allowed to celebrate.

    • @Herbert.
      @Herbert. 4 года назад +2

      "Celebrating" by kicking all the pucks out of the way? For some poor helper to collect and put back on the track again? Entirely unnecessary, slows down the event for everyone and is a pain in the ass to fix. Take that from somebody who has done their fair share of setting up speed skating rinks for competition 🙂
