@@josephm164 It's pretty easy if you fly right. And by fly right I mean like a drunken fly that's stuck in a jar. Because the AI always has perfect lead, if you are constantly changing the direction of your nose, it almost never hits. So, don't fly straight, ever, not even for a second, and you will be safe. It looks stupid and you fly a lot slower than normal, but it works.

So thats what those intakes were for, i was convinced they wernt engines but it didnt occur to me they were for coolant or even hydraulic cooling, i thought that prop would be doing gods work to drag that wingspan through the air.
I was skeptical about this odd plane at first and now it's the first battle pass vehicle I've wanted since about 3 BPs ago!! Also keep up the great work odd, I have been here since the start and it awesome to see you channel growing so much!!
The only battle pass plane and tank I own are the F2G-1 and T-10A, I think (besides the PT76-57) those are the only vehicles worth it. The F2G is so good especially at 6.0. I’ve easily caught up to ME262 and Arados and you can WEP for days without raising your oil temperature.
I mean, it seems dumb but also it kinda makes sense. In the Meteor lineup, the versions with longer wings turn better, as an example (though I'm not sure if the same applies for normal Spitfires and clipped-wing versions).
That's because it's ridiculous warthunder physics. In 1944, this plane would not be able to withstand that level of turn, especially with those two enormous radiators and guns in its wings. Warthunder just made up the specs and its ability. Only a few test flights were ever done and on one of them its wings snapped on landing. The Ta 152H, it's closest equivalent that saw service, has a dubious combat record, but in its first engagement one of them had its wings fail in the turn and it plowed into the ground. in all likelihood, the plane couldn't pull the forces that the game claims. Yes theoretically the large wings are great for turning but in actuality there was a reason why no one else used anything like it. Wunderwaffe nonsense.

Nice gaijin , you make a better turn fighter out of the BV 155 than a Bf109 . With that enormous wings and a horrible climb rate for a high altitude fighter , this thing got 1800hp . The stats of this plane are the complete opposite as irl , well nobody will fly 16.000m high but that turn rate is insane .
You need to climb like a jet with this. The whole point of your cooling being so powerful is that your engine can SCREAM at 130% power all the time. Get fast on the deck and let the big angelic wings take you to 2-3km at a 35* angle. 3km is ~9000 feet, WELL into low density air and what would be considered high altitude for the time.
You didn't just actually tell people to climb like a jet. in a prop with the speed of a biplane. It goes 450kph at SL By the time you pitched enough to reach 35 degrees you're already stalled out.

You could use it in moments like at 9:53, when your engine is out and you just need to glide a bit longer. You get way less drag that way. Cheers for your videos, awesome stuff!
If I remember correctly, I heard at some point that if you're using a test drive, it doesn't give the 2x rp booster from the built in tailsman. So in theory at least that should've been a little over 140k sl

It's a super unique and cool looking plane, especially if BawZ was being literal when he said it was a single-seater with nearly the wingspan of a B17. Surprised it hadn't gotten more attention before.

I main Italy, namely the G.55S and G.56, I realized for most countries the Universal ammo is the best to choose. Close enough AP rounds to kill from the top and it's got rounds for dealing with planes.
It’s strange how that things supposed to be a high altitude fighter with such a low climb rate, making it take ages and burn a ton of fuel just to actually reach high altitude. It’s also odd that it wasn’t equipped with any .30 caliber (or the German equivalent) machine guns to be able to remain in the fight longer before needing to land for rearming.
I think test drive rentals of aircraft dont use the whole sl and rp modifiers until you unlock it fully, like, it limits the output and when you unlock it the full sl modifier is used

Yes large wings = good turn, but the forces on the wing, and the radiators adding weight would have made this thing snap if it tried that rate of turn. Long levers amplify the effect of a force. There's a reason why no other plane tried this style of wing, it's just not a good design for a fighter that needs to turn. the closest modern thing to it is probably the U2 and gliders, both of which are famous for being sensitive to high G turns.

Long narrow wings or high aspect ratio (generally) give good lift at higher altitude, but do not give a good turn rate. Lower aspect ratio, (stubbier) wings have less inertial resistance to begin a roll or turn, and less momentum to allow a quicker stop to that roll. There's a reason all high altitude planes have long narrow wings, and mid/lower altitude planes have shorter, wider wings. The heavy radiators placed wide out on the wings would exasperate the poor roll/turn rate. At higher altitude planes have high aspect ratios, at these altitudes the negative effects of the longer wing is negated to a degree. This was a high altitude bomber interceptor, never designed to dog fight anything smaller than B29's etc. At low altitude it would have been a dog in comparison to planes designed for that role. Gaijin have got the physics wrong, again. But heh, they gotta get people to want to buy/grind their way to get it somehow.

You flew more than half that first flight without oil. The cooling on this plane is insane.

The oil cooling is good but if your at 100% throttle for a while the water temp goes up.

Climb rate still goes down, but at a lower rate than other fighters. At high alt it can still climb higher while others struggle to fly.

The only vehicles i accidentally got by reaching lvl 50-51 from the BP was the F2G and that French P51. This one I might actually work for

This thing has a service celiling of 55,800 ft. The Boeing 747-8 can only go up to 43,100 ft.
It's almost like the 747 is a heavier aircraft with an incredibly high wing loading.

The answer is "they didn't". Every single test flight had issues with its cooling system requiring them to be repaired.

If you enjoy this, should try out the TA-154 at a slightly higher BR. More cannons, more ammo, and a bit faster, though lacking the maneuverability.
