This is an excellent example of how to properly explain this scenario. All the other videos on the same subject are just painful and poorly explained. Keep up the good work.
Topic Camera Lens Rentals, you've answered Gmon750. How about my questions? Again, how do you disable the ATG AF LED blinking beam on the remote flash?
community.usa.canon.com/t5/Speedlites/My-Speedlight-600EX-RT-LINK-Lid-is-always-Red-when-in-Slave-mode/td-p/127202 Found in a 3-second search on Google. :/ The reason why the author didn't answer you is probably due to your question having absolutely nothing to do with this subject at hand.
Gmon750, no that is not it. Again, having to flashes (600EX-RT): *one on camera with N3 cable from flash to camera (beside T5i has no N3 socket) on ATG wireless radio Master. *second used as a walking wireless remote trigger, set in ATG wireless radio Slave. Which setting to disable the ATG AF Assist Beam from flashing on and off from the walking remote trigger (second flash you are holding)? And also you think you can find out how to shoot in wireless remote mode in "C" continue modes? To the best on my knowledge only the ATG Gold 600EX-RT 1K can do that.
Gmon750, I am not referring to Red "Link" on back of flash. But referring to the front of the flash, that is the ATG AF Assist Beam blinking or some may say flashing, when using the 600EX-RT has ATG wireless radio remote trigger. ATG Canon EOS-1VHSr, Canon EOS- 1V to today advanced have N3 socket. While the Rebel series have no N3.
Searching thru all the useless info on the st-e3-3t then ran across this. Short but just what I needed. Thank you for just getting to the facts without any fluff. Great tut!
I bought a Yougnuo 600Ex Rt-2 and YN E3-RT for my Canon 70D. Been watching many tutorials for few hours and couldn't even connect my flash to the remote. Because so called gurus out there even did not mention about channel and id which is something I definitely wouldnt know when I just bought a flash and do not know even the abc of flash photography. Thanks dear, following your video I have been able to take the first photo using my flash. :)
awesome tuttorial thanks we have the STe2 units, they've been pretty good but are starting to fail from time to time so the company have upgraded us to the ST-E3-RT units, personally I'm a tad dyslexic so alwats learn better by watching. Really appreciate the vid liked and subbed cheers
Great Video, helped me a lot. I thought my transmitter was broken, but i just didn't set the ID right (thought that just the channel matters). Saved my life, thanks.
I have a pair of Altura speed lights that work great. I got them both for maybe 100 or so bucks (part of a kit, with transmitters, cables, diffusers, etc). Flashes have a simple job, go off on command, by (line of) sight or signal (sync cord or wireless transmit), at a specified amount 1/1 - 1/128. Paying a ton of money for higher name brands is just...ehh. I have a total of three speed lights, the two mentioned above and X-it. Had them a good four years, and they've never failed me, not once...ever. Ever. I even dropped one, on concrete. It still works just fine. For those that insist on spending a ton for the 'big' brands...well, to each his/her own.
Very helpful. Might you be able to a video on version II of this respective transmitter and light, and setting various functions such as zoom and so on?
I'm slow I guess... racing through, especially at the end, it is difficult to follow what buttons you are pressing to get the groups... Very important but too fast to get what is being done... Thanks for the connection part is easier to follow. Like it! Is a help!
Hi, thanks a lot for your video which helped me but what about the focal length please ? When my Canon 600EX is on my Canon caméra, the focal length is moving on the flah the same as on my lense but with the STE3RT, il doesn't follow the focal length lense moves . Is it normal ?
With two Canon 600EX-RT flashes. One flash placed on camera. Second flash hand hold use to trigger the camera. How do you disable the blinking red LED on the second flash (remote control hand hold)?
Alwys set channel and id at same time...I didn't think you would ever get it. I leave my channel on auto and id at say 2000 AUTO then all you need worry about is id #. Save to memory/next time memory load done and done.
Questions if you can help please?? At 4:09 you change the transmitter to M, Multi, etc. but the flash unit stays on ETTL and doesn't change to what the transmitter is set to. Why not? Also, once in the M mode on the transmitter, I'm struggling to actually change the value, it's stuck at 1/1. How do I change it? Thanks.
Hi great video however I wonder if you can help me I’m struggling setting up my 600ex II to the ST-E2 I’ve tried everything can’t seem to get the wireless to connect to one another? Does anyone know how? Thanks
Great video thank you. I have a problem though. I have one flash unit I want to use off camera in ettl mode and one trigger. Both are linked! However when I use flash compensation on the trigger to say +1, the trigger shows +1 but the flash remains at zero although it still fires. Any advice?
hi! when i use my yn-e3-rt with yn 600-ex my batteries in 600ex drains very fast u can say i get aprox 80-100 shots if i mount my 600ex on the camera battery does not drain i get more than 400 shots n battery indicator still shows half remaining battery ..why is it so???? and why i cannot sync yn-e3-rt for 2nd curtain sync for exposure more than 2.5 sec ???
looks real nice. Only problem is, on mine the trigger doesnt fire when I put it on the camera. 5d mk3 or any other of my canons. When I hit the test, it fires all the flashes. Back on the camera, no fire. Any ideas?
I know this problem well. There was a problem with the first run of the st-e3-rt that canon won't admit too. Mine would work on my 5d II and not my 5d III. It is a hot shoe issue. I tried shimming it out or seating it better by wiggleing it on the shoe and it would work intermittently. Same issue on the 5D IV.
how good is the ST-E3-RT (ver. 2) triggers now? I've heard people saying that it disconnects from your speedlights randomly and the only other way to link them back is to turn of the trigger and speedlights and back on. Is that the case with them still now if i bought one or is that issue fixed?
ATG Wireless radio HSS (ATG/Canon 600EX-RT/600EX II-RT) on 5D Mark II. Your Canon 270EX II is not 2.4GHz TTL. It will not do radio flashes. But if you set 270EX II into wireless IR as well as 600EX, then all will work.
Get the *Yongnuo YN-E3-RT* instead of the Canon ST-E3-RT - The Yongnuo has a far bigger range and costs *a lot* less. But it does exactly the same as the Canon version.
Hi man, I have a question for you... after I did all you say, the thing with de channel and the ID, the trigger doesn't recognize the flash or in some cases, the light on the flash is green and in the trigger is orange!! Can you help me with that??? Thanks a lot!!
The YONGNUO wireless speedlites and transmitters are cheaper and just as goo... oh, they just broke, looks like I'll have to buy a proper Canon one which is actually better and will last longer with better support, which is what I should have done, so I've lost money, what a numpty I am.
Nonsense. The Yongnuo transmitter is exactly the same. Works fine. Maybe you should handle your gear with a bit more care. And seriously - what kind of support do you need on a flash trigger???
