Just finished watching both parts of your interview with Vinit ji. He is not only an excellent musician, he is also a very learned man; just listen to his discussion of the intricacies of both classical and modern music. He also gives an in depth view of the film music industry of that time. He also explains so well what makes R D Barman great!
Thanks to you, Nitin ji, for keeping yourself completely quiet and letting the knowledgeable man speak. A lot of interviewers talk unnecessarily in the middle.

Excellent video, one of the best on the maestro rdburman. One request, can one visit the music room of rdb, i hv grown up listening to rd burman and heard so much about his music sittings, would love to visit that room where these tunes were developed, i am sure even today there is that aura and vibration there. Been to mumbai may a times, stayed in pali hills, santa cruz area, but nobody could help me. I am currently in Toronto, Canada, but my family hails from coumilla, from where sd burman comes. SD Burmans grand father was the royal prince of tripura and my great grand father was the minister to the royal family. My grand parents fondly remember how young sd burman would sing bhatiyali, bengal fisher man folk song, in the evening jalsa (music gathering) in the palace, coumilla was part of tripura till 1947, is now in bangladesh

Vineetji has a real insight of all the technicality of music. Be it hindustani or western. He explains it in a way that a common lay man will easily understands it. He probably eats, drinks and sleeps music. Very dedicated and honest towards his profession. The 2 part interview was very enlightening. But it looks and sounds unfinished. There has to be more

Intresting insight into rise of Kishore Kumar and decline of Rafi Sahab.Rafi has also sung sensual songs in films like Gumnam, Rajkumar,Love in Tokyo so on this aspect I differ with presenter however I agree with him on singer suiting the voice of character of the film where with change in public taste,Kishore da fitted best .Loved this video .

You are real intelligent person and narrator, you cleared the mist about Pancham Da, it was times and demand of the producers who insisted upon Pancham Da to do like this & that...
Vinit Sir was insider of Pancham Da he knows what prompted Pancham Da who innovated, inspired, punctuated and not direct lift from western sources..
He brought many new things...
Similarly Producers wanted Kishor Da instead of Rafi Saheb as he was not as saleable as Kishor Da emerged, so obviously music directors had no choice, they shifted to Kishor Da and Pancham Da was no exception...
So this allegation is not true that Pancham Da bypassed Rafi Saheb...
True it happened due to social change which prompted Producers and Directors beeline Kishor Da and RD Burman...

Rafi Sahab never only did classical music but did all range of music..... Gulabi Aankhen Aankhen Jo Teri Dekhi.... chadhti javani Teri from Karva and thousands of superhit song given by Rafi Sahab were non classical n high in scale....

At 9.17 the title music he is referring to is from Sujata 1959 which was used by Pancham in Aap ki Kamre me koyi rehta hai.

Lati and Asha monolpolised playback singing. They were both talents but misused their position spoil a lot of female singers career.
Both hated Rafi. Now Asha Bhosle openly puts down Rafi in reality show. It shows the deep rooted hatred.
Asha like Lata is opportunist roped in OP Nayyar then RD to further her career. Thus is true character of Asha.
RAFI is a saint as described by many including Sonu Nigam
The guy has lot of exposure of RD musuc creation history.
However very shallow knowledge of music.
His comment about music of of Naushad and RD is okay. He presentation is more to higlight his guru RD's skill.
He seems to be more of a journalist, jack of all trade.
R d was great. No doubt. But here it is try to justify copied songs by giving word inspiration and pressure from procedures which is not correct
