As Jann already hinted: You couldn't be further from the truth. Honda knew that huge rule changes in 2009 could give them a chance so they started to develop that car already in 2007. They put full focus in 2009's car already in May 2008 when they knew that their current car wouldn't achieve anything meaningful. On the other hand current top teams, McLaren and Ferrari, were fighting closely for 2008 championship and they had to focus on that car all they way until the last race.
Imagine coming back to the sport after a year without a car and still be able to win the first race _by a whole minute_ . That's the biggest flex I've ever seen.
Tbf the 1993 Willian's was the most dominant car by miles that year. They had all sorts of driver assists they had been developing. Launch control, abs, traction control. All of which were banned after 93' since they were too dominant and the car was too easy to drive. This was why Senna pushed for a move to Willian's for the '94 season. A season in which the car was badly built due to having all the electronic ripped out of it.
Cian McCabe he won 1 of his championships out of luck, 1 by exploiting his say in in the rules, and another by having the most grossly dominant car of the time

Not simply out of nowhere....Honda had been putting all their money and effort for 2009 car....for sure when they decided to left the sport at end of 2008, it left the team in disarray, but the design of the car was already done in the two previous years. For sure it was unexpected that after such events the team could come in and dominate the way it did, but its just important to understand that the car had been produced and designed by Honda who left at the worst possible time, when they could have finally begun to win....ofc the question is would they have been as competitive with their own engine than Brawn GP was with Mercedes engines. But considering how dominant the car was because of its diffusor design, I would think that they would have.

A good list, but not sure I agree with Max having the #1 slot. Mercedes took themselves out, and there's no reason not to expect the Red-Bull to win. Sounds exciting, but...
I'm sticking with my bold prediction he'll get a podium somehow this year, also think he'll miss 1 race with arm troubles although expect team will give another excuse.
If there is a debut win, that one is most likely. But my money is on Vettel, it will be close to Hamilton until summer break and than Hamilton flies away for a dominant 6th title. Not enough changes for this to change. Maybe Honda is the ingredient for Red Bull, I don’t think Renault will close the gap. Maybe there can be a big crash at the front like in 2005 that led Webber fighting off a Toyota Corolla to score points on debut. Something like that could maybe give Ricciardo a win if he keeps his nose clean, and then after the celebrations find an excuse to disqualify him like his first Melbourne podium.
How Max’s is number 1 is just unbelievable, really wasn’t expecting that after such a great list, he wouldn’t have even got it if the mercs didn’t take each other out.
Ahh, 3d lower thirds get me really nostalgic - since they've been out for 9 years. same goes for Skeuomorphism by the way, we're past that and so should be liberty.

PIERRE GASLY, RED BULL HONDA
MELBOURE 2019
Sensational possibilities this year. It will be one for the books.
ferrari winning isnt really a top10. maldonado in a williams 2019 would be that top 0, lol
Chales? Melboure?
@@Acers2K you mean 2012?
This didn't age well. AT ALL
Brawn with Button is my best debut win. What a great season that was.
I can't wait. Only 9 Days Left.😂
Man the brawn cars just stand out of the paddock, i just love the look
A good list, but not sure I agree with Max having the #1 slot. Mercedes took themselves out, and there's no reason not to expect the Red-Bull to win. Sounds exciting, but...
Thank you Will!!
✌️❤️😁
Waiting for kubica to win
But he's in williams😥
Unless Williams stun us with a surprise championship competing car like Williams in 2014
I'm sticking with my bold prediction he'll get a podium somehow this year, also think he'll miss 1 race with arm troubles although expect team will give another excuse.
@@markmallone7484 oh wait he was lapped by Russell
Not gonna happen with Williams.
Check out the grid babes at 4:46. Good old days😀
Charles Leclerc at Ferrari wins Aussie GP
In his, and your dreams. he will be lucky if he managed to cross the finish line. lol
As a dutchman, im so proud of max. Best driver ever❤️
1:59 Juan Manuel Fangio=GOAT
5:26 he dindt like the race
Ahh, 3d lower thirds get me really nostalgic - since they've been out for 9 years.
same goes for Skeuomorphism by the way, we're past that and so should be liberty.
English is not my native language and i thought "Debut Win" in the title was about a rookie that had just entered F1 and still won his first race. :(
0:21 just think about how crazy that movement is when you actually consider it 🤯
So basically all the Ferrari drivers... does this mean Charles Leclerc will win in Australia?😏🤷🏾♂️
No
No, he's shit
Max on 1 like it should, I was hoping for it! Nice to see it : D
