Once again Charles comes on just before midnight here in Australia as I'm about to hit the sack (Sunday morning here) Always have time for your builds (Suzuki fan boy since 1982) so I'm biased. I hope your ex appreciates every thing you say :-)
I’m so glad you stuck with building this bike for yourself brother. I love 89-92s, just wish the bike had a removable subframe… and that I could find a new pair of factory connection frame guards for my 92. Iv been hunting for years lol
Hey Charles, I had to do the same thing once with a steel frame I had reinforcing welds done on...and of course the Ford van bottle jack came through...crazy, but it never gave me a problem after that.
That’s interesting! I wonder if this one will eventually settled back into its original position as well after some writing. Just like before we powder coated it. Bottle jack twins.
I'm so happy to see how you did this. I have an '87 LT250R with this exact problem and I couldn't get the dust caps on. Now I know what I'm doing today.
That is killer! Really glad this helps, especially since it’s just something random that happened in the video that also just so happened to apply to your situation too. Tear it up bro!
She is going to look amazingwhen it is all done. I'm glad you showed how to plating that swing arm since I emailed you last week . It was good to see a video to see the set up. Now I'm going to need the blue chromate. Definitely good information for sure
Dude...Charles the same thing happened with my swingarm on my 92 RM125. I finally got it back in there with enough swearing tho. I'm super happy to see your rm back... I wasn't sure if I would see her again. Now for that 125 appearance...lol. Just an appearance.
Man, I can only imagine it was a common occurrence on these bikes. Too funny, swearing, and expletives usually do the trick ha ha! Thank you, I will finish it. It’s really hard to manage the giveaway builds to a level. Everyone deserves if I end up divided with other projects. You get it! 125… that one needs to mention work but at least we’ll have a good base blueprint for some matching machines!
Looking good. That zinc plating kit is on my list. I am working on restoring an old vise that was left at my house when I moved in. That plating kit would be so nice. Also for my c10. I would be plating everything 😂
You will love it dude! You know I’ll be here when the time comes. One thing will need to pay extra special attention to will be the size of your parts. The rectifier size has limitations for sure, and is only good for small parts. But there are larger plating kits, and rectifiers that can handle some of the bigger pieces you intend to do. For dirtbike stuff however, this kit is perfect. I’ll be on the lookout for our emails relating to your cylinders as well, so I can make sure they are liaised properly and perfectly 🤘
That is lookin so tight Charles so far. That blue hue makes the contrast with everything else going on pop. I personally am a attention to detail type person so I can appreciate all the little things that it takes. That sh__ takes patience! I can't wait to see the end result of the RM. As your loyal sub man I'll be there...
Thanks Albert! I’m digging this color, and some of the little details like you said. Such as the sink. I’m a sucker for clean hardware. Thank you for being there to enjoy the process with me.
This is looking great, the blue and silver just look perfect together, and the yellow plastics will just seal the deal! Regarding the swing arm bolt, what other year bolts fit the 89,as i got a 92 bolt and it was too thick😬 so iam after another for my 89 125 cheers
Thanks Rick, I could not agree with you more. That yellow will just lock it all in. Your best bet to find out what other swingarm main pins will fit, would be to go to your bikes pin in the OEM microfiche. You can still at part number and compare it to others. I’m surprised they would waste their efforts on changing the pin for 92 just to go back to the old pin later. Maybe the seller of the 92 Main pin goofed up… I had specifically cross referenced part numbers in the same way using 2004 & 2006 RM250s because those are the spare pins I had. Perfect match.
@@mxrevival Hi there thanks for the reply, yeah cant wait to see the yellow compliment the build! I have got brand new ufo plastics for my 89 125 but iam gona have to work some magic on the tank, wet sanding and polishing etc, whats your plan with yours! The swingarm pin......i since found out after i bought the 92 pin, that they made them thicker, the pin wont go through the 89 or 90 swingarms that i have either🤔😬 thought about mayby getting it thinned out on a laythe!
Double R and I haven’t been working together since the last time you saw him. He’s a great guy, the schedule just wasn’t working out for me. By the time he and I were able to connect in the evenings, I was already ready to be inside with the wife and baby. But I made a new riding buddy.
Well........... Love the bike build, thought it would go well without the crude remarks, which dont need to be in any bike build, my young ones watching ask too many questions of what you meant. wish you the best of luck!
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, my sense of humor is not for everyone. Which part bothered you? And what will you do when they have full access to the Internet or Instagram for example… instagram.com/reel/Cqb6e9ZgjiS/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Not meant to be a stab at you either. I have a little girl, I’m genuinely curious how you will respond since it’s impossible to shelter them in my opinion.
I'm brand new to dirt bikes and rebuilding a yz250f from the frame up, stroker build, and you have the best channel for this stuff i've found! I have to wonder what effect that coating on the rad has on cooling. Typically paint has little to no effect on cooling efficiency, but from what you were saying it seems like that coating is designed "reduces temp" ie, doesn't let as much heat out. On an exhaust i'm sure that increases exhaust gas velocity (like a heat wrap). But I wonder if it reduces cooling efficiency on a rad. Also LOL'd at the "like my ex" hahaha.
Spreading it too far shouldn't hurt it (so long as the tubes dont buckle and welds on gussets hold) because the swingarm pivot is a big-ass bolt with a lot of torque that should close it back up, no? Pivot bolt looks awesome!
Enjoying your videos bud. I grew up riding dirt bikes. I wonder if the frame is designed to assist with preload and that the factory may use some kind of frame spreader for assembly. Just a thought.
Really appreciate it and it’s great to have you. That’s also an interesting thought. What I do know though, is that everything fit the first two times I had to take this swingarm out. So I think the heat from the powder coating oven must be the culprit. 🔥
Just depends on the part. We refinish a lot of the OEM parts, so the aftermarket needs are few. If you have time to be more specific using this link (our email) we might be able to answer your question better www.mxrevival.com/contact
Damn!!! Dean really made shitty into pretty!!! I am really interested in what that coating on the radiators is. Damn, this whole video is freaking awesome, but I have a real soft spot for 80s machines. I am going to have to get one of those zinc plating kits eventually because I thought I would have to see a urologist when my shaft is that badly pitted...lol!!! That RM is going to be totally bad-ass when it is finished!!!
Yes, he does, every time! I know you are an 80s dirtbike lover…. Yeah man, you’ll love the zinc plating kit. This thing has paid for itself over and over the last several years. Even more so now that I’m actually good at using it. You better keep that shaft clean!! 😅
I guess, start with a bike that isn’t too smoked 😂 thankfully, I know a good machinist since those are currently out of my skill set. I do have a factory bottle jack though….

Bro you're funny as hell man I love this channel
Luv ya right back 🔥
Can’t wait for episode 6, love a bit of 80s / 90s 2 stroke 😍
I’ll make sure to get a good topic for us when that video finally happens
Man Charles your RM looks as good as Jimmy Kiser & Cameron Niemela’s RM250’s ! 🔥😍👍💯
Well, thank you very much but both of those are going to smoke this one! I’ve been such a cheap ass on this Build…

Get ahold of 834 moto. Same boat with my 2000 RM125 but he fixed that problem for me.
Keep the tingle going! That thing is looking so sweet👊
Thanks dude!
Can’t wait to see this built. Gonna get some pointers off you
You’re doing a fine job already, my friend!
You are going to give me a heart attack! Is like Xmas morning thanks Charles I’ve been waiting for this cheers
Haha! Nice, I am stoked then Art! Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet video that all else is well with you and the boys

FYI, at 175 pounds I went with a 5.4kg shock spring and .44 fork springs on my '90 RM250 revive. Still waiting on a gas tank but I'm getting there!
Right on! 🔥 Sounds like I will be a rate or two above those
