still have some old Rosewill, Cooler Master, and generic fans from Aliexpress or eBay from a while ago, they're probably among some of the parts that I end up reusing multiple times for years down the line. I've since moved over to having Arctic P12s as well, but the older stuff that I've had and dropped into my sister's PC still seem to be working well, even after all of this time. Gotta say though, I never realized how noisy they've gotten (or maybe even have been, it's likely I got used to it after almost 10 years) until I swapped over to the newer fans I have now. 👍

That's good to know, glad those older fans are working fine for you (or your sis!) too. 🙂 Hmm that's an interesting point re the noise - I didn't immediately notice then when compared to my newer P12s, but it wouldn't surprise me if the older ones have become a bit noiser in time.

You could have just used some tape to measure the amount of revolutions per minute of those fans. No need to break one fin out.

NOW you mention that 😭 You're right though... good tip thanks. I did try using a black marker but that didn't really work. I didn't consider take at the time - DOH!
