Had my 3.5, 9’ scopes for years and I think they are the best in the range. Paired with Shimano medium big baitrunners! Bought them as stalking/small venue rods and wont be getting rid of them any time soon!
Absolutely love my Scope rods. As an All-round angler the 10ft 2.25 corks are amazingly versatile tools and get loads of use, so definitely worth the money.
I’ve owned 10ft 1.75lb, 2.25lb and 3lb versions, the cork 2.25lb were by far my favourite go to rod, the 1.75lb were great for the river barbel but the action on the 2.25 were spot on a lovely rod to play fish on 👍
I have a 6ft black ops paired with 4000 Gt reel, looks so sleek and stealthy. I also have a 6ft cork dwarf paired with daiwa whisker ss1600, went for the classy look. Absolutely love both of them. Never afraid of having big fish on them
10ft 3.5tc are bloody awesome for solid bag work. Had fish in uk to 45lb and they coped fine. I use with Cast’izms which I personally imho think are the best reel to partner with. Rarely use my 12ft now.
My son has the 9ft dwarf rod, it casts incredible well. Those reels are great too, I use them with 12ft Basia rods and the light weight ballances up nicely
I had the scope 9ft 3lb for years, great rods, i catch also a 60kg wels in free water with it, now i've change them for the black ops 10ft 3lb, but i miss a lil bit the 9ft, they were more fun with small fish, and they can handle any carp, also in rivers.
Great video, I’m a huge Scope fan and moved over to the 3lb scopes initially - I had 2 rods and the 4.5lb Spod rod version all in 10ft which I could use if I wanted to go catfishing aswell. I recently upgraded to the Black Ops 3.5lb versions and have to say they are unbeatable, the 50mm butt rings, Alps seat and the added T/C gives me so much more confidence whilst not being too stiff, I pair mine with Daiwa Tournament BE reels and it’s so balanced. 🙌
I have been on the fence for a long time about buying a set of scope black ops . Currently use free spirit hi s bank creepers and really like them paired with the whisker 25a reels but the scopes would fit hidden away in the boot of my car with all my other gear that’s in there permanently.
I'm looking at the 10ft rod range, as my club waters don't requires range fishing. Most of my fishing involves solid bags. I know the scopes are expensive, but are they that much better than the dwarfs? Also for my type of fishing, what TC would you recommend? Lost of 20+ carp in my waters, plus cats. I'm thinking 3.5
Hi Joe definitely worth it I love mine .I've got the 3.5 TC in ten foot they seem a bit softer than the nine foot.Had to have the scope reels aswell lol.Best carp channel by far btw .
Better value are the dawrfs, or the diawa ext which tbh have a better length handle than Nash, especially if you are wanting a second set up for smaller waters.
Love my scopes ,my Missis got me the new Aqua atoms rods for Xmas haven’t used them yet they look the business please do a review on these if you can , thanks great review as usual
I've put xtc 14000s on my 10ft 3.5 and there balanced wicked as the xtc14000 are actually smaller and lighter than diawa crosscast 5000 granted the spool is a bit wider but that doesn't half help the casting distance 25 wraps with .35 and your right the rods are mega accurate but they are a smaller venue rod wouldn't want to be doing 25 wraps with them all the time as its a lot easier with 12 or 13ft rods but I would be lost without them had some really good times using them
I was actually looking for anyone who use the 10ft with a relatively big reel as I have the shimano ultegra 14000xse and I’m thinking to switch to 10ft from the 13ft I have now
I'd dearly love to have see the Black Ops tested. They look identical in diameter, rings all look the same as a normal Scope apart form the reel handle, and but end? I've even looked into the carbon they say they use, but nothing explains the price being so much. Test one please? I know you will be honest.
High i use 10ft Nash scopes with gt6000 reals n fox exocet line in 23lb trans kaki I've been looking at sonik subsonik camo line wounded if you have used it and any feedback also what your goto lin lb rate
Very good rods, the MK2 is out now. I agree the 3.5lb tc and above are a bit too rigid for the length of the rods. The 3.0lb tc is spot on for the 10ft rods, which can cast up to 90yds which is plenty for uk waters. Personally I wouldn’t bother with the Nash 9ft range of rods for this reason. A foot shorter in length is not going to make a blind bit of difference to your fishing imo, and you can’t cast as far.
I own the old model of black opps 9 ft 3,5 with carbon reel seats. Good quality blanks, rings. Like you said a litle on the stiffer side, but the reelseat its crab. Search almost 1 year for a reel to fit in there, lockdown of the reelseat katastrophy, the reelseat cant be locked enough that the reel is rock solid in there and it looses constantly. Also on one rod the reelseat rotates 4 360 degreece with a reel in it - actually cheap to fiks, if you find a rod builder that doo this, but at this pricepoint, you dont think that this can happen. But i love them. In terms of casting accuraty - i cast same bad with them as with other rods that i own. Not the fault of the rods!!!🤪 But castingdistances with pva bags - small max 40 - 50 meters and with a leed around i think 60-70 meters max - on a good day. So for me they are practical and the most components are very good quality. I have them, for i think 5 years and they still look brand new. - after i clean them. Wud i buy them again? Im not shure, but perhaps yes with the new reelseat from the "new" model on them. Are they worth the monay - not shure. At that time that i bouth them they were ( oneley 3 models, all from Nash. Shrink and abreviated and black opps) but in 2022 im not shure about this - think they are a litle overpriced and other builders reach their level.
I can cast my 9ft sonik Xtractors over 110 yards with .35mm line. I see no need to fish longer rods in my standard cast angling on our small club venues. If i had a long cast setup on these rods with some Ultegras and a braided mainline i can see myself casting those rods to a 140 yards
I have two 10ft 3.5lb and one 10ft 3lb. In case you don't need long distances, 3lb is a good way to go. Sure, there are many other possibilities now, but Nash was first and will stay first. :)
I had a set as I was unsure about 10ft 3.5tc rods so I got the ext to try. After one session using small solid bags I was convinced. However, I wanted cork handles so just got the scopes. However, the daiwa are Incredible value for money and I got 3 for the price of one 10ft 3.5tc scope cork. Unfortunately being a monumental tackle tart I was drawn to the scopes for no other reason than looks.
I have the scopes in 10ft 3.5 tc cork handle had them 3/4 years and they have done me good same on the reel handle abit of chipping away , other than that they are worth the money .

Im on my second set, I stepped up the second time around to 3.5 tc They are now my go to rods
I prefer the mat carbon , as it keeps so well

I've got Nash dwarft 6ft rods which are basically the same thing and they've been amazing so far so good for stalking and even mainstream carp fishing
What reels are you using? I’m looking at the dwarf 6fts too.. tia 👍🏻

Can you do a review on the black ops 9ft?
Great rods been using mine for over 3 years now & my 12' hi s are now retired to the loft, cant fault them in any way. Would recommend to anyone.
If you was fishing for tench & carp in very weed lake would you go 6ft 9ft 10ft 2lb ..2.25lb..2.75lb

I agree with the 3lb tc, that’s what I have and they seem quite stiff, any firmer and I can only assume they would be savage
You should get some 9ft 2.75lb dwarfs mate for the go to, keep in the boot as they will fit sideways 👌
Just bought a set of these, and one of the 3 seems to extend around 10/15mm longer than the others which feel really stiff… any ideas ?
