    to emphasise the word, do you use a high volume, lengthen the word and use a higher pitch?

    Tily wants to borrow your green (shirt)...if i stressed (shirt) more than the other content words does it mean i made Contrastive stress or ordinary Tonic Syllable on the last content word of the sentence ?????!!!!

      Usually the main stress would be on 'shirt' so if you stress 'Tilly' more then yes, that's contrastive stress. You would do that to ensure the listener understand that it's Tilly and not another person.

    The implied meaing is really hard to recognize in some situations😭
