In this tutorial you'll learn how to make an origami Rose step by step. There is also a simple origami leaf and stem, all connected without glue nor tape. It's the perfect origami for Valentine's day and for Mother's day!
There is a big space in the middle, optionally you can add a chocolate (with red wrapping) or fill it with two smaller roses: • Origami Rose Ideas
If you think the rose is not very stable on top of the stem, try this: goo.gl/YrKcR
ROSE IN A POT - this is an updated version of this rose. The sides are locked to prevent from spreading open and there is a better connection to a stem: • ORIGAMI ROSE IN A POT ...

This is my favourite rose, I've folded it many-many times. Just a small tip to make the rose look even better: fold two of them, one from a smaller paper and put it into the middle of the large one. This way you can improve the look; the middle of the rose won't look so empty. Also curl the petals a bit and you have the perfect rose.

    • @sadisticsweet3140
      @sadisticsweet3140 3 года назад +17

Thats a great idea! I should try it out. Do you have like a specific size paper to use for the smaller one and is it bigger than the leaf?

Having a hard time at 8:50?
Tip: Make sure that all of your folds are creased and exact. Turn the paper upside down so that when you fold in the paper, you can guide everything around the square in the middle. It's much easier!
Edit: I tried this again with construction paper and found it considerably easier. That or just the fact that I had prior experience

the valley fold we do right after folding the paper into 8 sections horizontally and vertically, that keeps opening up a little when we do this 8:50 twist, thats the problem really! So when doing the twist, turn the paper around, and make sure those initial valley folds dont open up while twisting, and it should work!

There is one thing that truly stands out amongst all RUclips tutorial about Origami: I've never seen before the inclusion of a graphical folding guidance in sync with the folds currently performed, as you've done here. That REALLY adds understanding to the procedure by eliminating any bias due to shadows, lighting or fast manipulation.

I know this may seem hard and impossible I thought the same thing but after a hard day's work I finally finished one. Several weeks later I made 40 and made a diy chandelier with blue string, mounting tabs, gold blue and purple string lights and clothespin. You can do this you guys I believe in you and if I'm determined enough to make 40 of them I know you guys can do it.
P.S I did kind of use hot glue for the stems to go into the back of the flower but everything else all natural origami.
    I believe in you!!

is there any chance you can demonstrate (or elaborate on) the "tricky" step where you spin and fold upwards? I've gotten everything else down but I'm not sure precisely where the folds are supposed to go, and the way it's shown in the video doesn't show off a lot.

I see many have found these instructions impossible, but Nakashima has made it very clear and easy to follow. My friend sent this to me for help, but I concluded that she is not experienced with origami, hence why I found it much easier.
Maybe this type of origami is too advanced for those who are unsuccessful, so before getting angry and frustrated, its recommended to revise on types of folding and try beginners origami before trying intermediate or advanced type origami.
Arts and crafts should be fun and relaxing, so take your time learning and
    Good luck to everyone!

Intermediate: You can do it on your first, second, or third try, depending on whether it's low intermediate or not and the amount of experience you have.

To all of those struggling. I crumbled and threw away my first 2 attempts. Tried again and this time really made every fold perfectly. When you get to 8:56, instead of just trying to do it like he does it. Watch the folds and creases that all need to be in sync with each other. Don't rush it really. Just try to follow where his creases are going on every side and I promise you keep doing that you will get it. Took me an hour to get it on my 3rd try. But since then I'm able to do it just as quickly as he does now. Don't give up. It comes out beautifully
