I love this movie it's my favorite movie of all time I love Kurt Russell William Baldwin Scott Glenn they are the best they're my heroes in the movie and in real life I would like to meet them someday I love you guys you're awesome
LOL well, I wish it was like that Tim. Unfortunately, we don't drive them like we own them !! All I wanted to do when I got hired was drive them. Then, when I got trained on them, all I wanted to do was NOT drive them, lol. People act like they've never seen a fire truck before. They don't move over, they don't give you the right of way, nothing ! All I do, is set the hood ornament on the center yellow line, and they all move over !! LOL. In all seriousness, it's very, VERY stressful to drive. I forgot to mention, you also have to worry about the gallons of water on the truck, and you have to account for that load shift when turning !! Then, when you arrive, say it's a fire, you now have to get the water going. You have to do some initial math believe it or not. Now I know I scared the shit out of ya !!! For every floor in an apartment building, you add 10 feet. So, if you have to get water up to the 5th floor, then you have to do the math using the number 50 feet (5 x 10). And you have to be ready should the water all of a sudden shut off, or something fails !! You want to hear yelling and screaming, have the water shut down on the crew inside !!!! However, if you're driving to a medical or something, it's pretty smooth. Once you arrive, your job is done, and you chill !!! Peace !!
@@aaronmichael7116 I feel ya man, now that I'm getting closer to working for my Volunteer Fire Department the thought of driving the apparatus makes me a little nervous because it is a big responsibility but just like everything else the speed will come over time.
When you are responding from your house as a volunteer firefighter for fire calls but you don’t make the truck in time, I’ve been there lol, I can never make the truck from my house normally lol, the truck already pulled out with the lights on and I had to give way while my friends smile at me as they pass by😂😂
Can be yes, but its easier to move an uncharged line than a charged one.so if you have to climb multiple flights of stairs to reach fire level, may be better to wait.
2:52 to 2:57 this is why I wish I could be a firefighter just to do this lol although after smashing the Windows I would probably use the jaws to remove the car doors completely peal back the roof and stuff the ripped off doors in the back seat lol
Well, actually when i was in the volunteer fire department we used to put the removed doors into the car when the tow truck loaded it up. XD Saved the tow truck driver work to secure those now "loose parts". XD And it was the reason why we only "flipped" the roof back if there was no one on the back seats. So we just could flip it back forward when everything is done. Actually, i have done this "Hose through the car" move THREE times while i was active. And every time the police was like: "Well, that's another thing the car owner is going to pay for. Blocking a fire hydrant, AND the repair of his car."
Aww these moments do try me. I've talked to some friends who are fire fighters and they told me they don't get any enjoyment out of this. Yea right!! I'd only hope for it each run
2:52 "Oh, these moments do try me..." "Be gentle now, Ax!"
4:31 "Here come's your water!"
Aside from him being the arsonist in the movie, Scott Glen is the man for breaking those
car windows.
"These moments do try me" a phrase I still use to this day, and far too often. lol
"I'm Brian"
"I'm sorry"
lololol...
Gotta love Grindle 😄
0:46 is the funniest part of the video
Brian: aww shit! My car wouldn't start
Tim: what are you doing?
My first day I was there at 5am even though shift starts at 7. Fuck that would not be late for day on shift.
Steven: yeah attaboy
Brian: Damn!
Me watching as a kid: "Dad is that what it's like?"
Career Dad: (Smirks)
My kid watching this: "Wow dad, is that what it's like ?"
Career Me: (Smirks)
What’s crazy is the chauffeur got promoted to battalion chief and reassigned to rescue me. 😂
He's actually a former FDNY A/O.

"That a boy!" lololololol!
Called it right on that one. LOL.
I'm imagining that Chicago had looked really cool back then
they are just bad ass when they drive those trucks I mean they go fast like a bad out of hell

Axe:(smashes car window) Stephen:holy shit😂
Wrong McCaffrey
"Lets go for the throat!"
What scanner channel was that in the background?
"You're doing it wrong"! He still doesn't know how to button a coat!
-- or tie shoelaces
The end of the movie where Brian sees the same shit being done by the new recruit your doing it wrong
Or in this case how to clip his coat rings.
I love firefighters just love you guys I give you all the praises and hugs and I give you all the love especially during covid 19 love you guys
"Showtime"
I wonder if fire dept personnel seen this movie, they probably say the same thing with a real fire or rescue.
Why the hell didnt Kurt Russell go in with a Breathing Apparatus.
Basically he consider himself the old school firefighter or trying to be like his father. Its a ego thing.
Jason Wilson its a stupid thing
This was in the 90's, not all firefighters used their masks or scba at all
Ethan Winnemore smoke eaters for ever.
Sometimes I did where my mask I use left seatbelts on I did save air that's the I was trained ff1 and 2 during class I always did
I just love firefighters
tim kalar that's good. I am a career firefighter in Fort Wayne,Indiana. My rank is Captain.
Thanks I am a firefighter in Warren RI
I have a cousin that's in the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department in Hebron, Indiana
Entering the fire compartment before line is charged. What a way to get killed.
I agree
Can be yes, but its easier to move an uncharged line than a charged one.so if you have to climb multiple flights of stairs to reach fire level, may be better to wait.
Stephen was mean to Brian he humiliated him by saying "Ya atta boy"
Obviously he's been through this with his Brother before, pretty much called it right. Your going to get that in high situation jobs like that.
What would we do without you guys your the best
How can I find the same horn as this fire engine?
Get in a time machine and go back to in time
reality speaking....a few months ago, there was a company advertising those "big rig" horns....you talking about horns and NOT sirens right???
Ahh... these moments do try me..
Be gentle now axe

@@whitecloud_94 & you thought someone was Barbecuing!? LOL- Classic.

2:57 Truth in television there
there is NOTHING true in television
AT ALL
This is the funniest scene in the movie
Shit! I hate it when we gotta fuckin go and look for it.
Imagine if ALL fire dept companies around the world had a fire recruit nickname called "probee".....
All depts do have probees… it’s short for probationary firefighter.
what is the name of the music at 1:50 please ?
Heatwave

I like the fact how they are just listening to heatwave
2:52 to 2:57 this is why I wish I could be a firefighter just to do this lol although after smashing the Windows I would probably use the jaws to remove the car doors completely peal back the roof and stuff the ripped off doors in the back seat lol
Only thing that would have been better if it was a Beemer

Be gentle now Axe...
Aww these moments do try me. I've talked to some friends who are fire fighters and they told me they don't get any enjoyment out of this. Yea right!! I'd only hope for it each run
awwww.....fuck this BMW!!!!!
Atta boy
William Baldwin!
Haha that is funny!😂😆😊
At least the building said Sandy Scott and not Sandy Hook. That would be too “on the nose”. I hate when we have to go looking for them.
Here comes the water
Marea de fuego 🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁

a big, dumd waste of time and an insult to firemen everywhere, this should've been opie's last movie made
give some argments.
You're one to talk about dumb. You can't even spell dumb correctly.
dumb is someone who know don't know how to spell it 😂😂😂
J F did you just insult yourself? Please reread your comment 👍🏼
I mean I actually like the movie. Was it unrealistic yes but the story line was good.
“I’m Brian”
…
“I’m sorry”
