About six months ago I decided that I was going to do a goat hunt but had to jump some hurdles first, mainly financial hurdles. My wife and I have busted our asses and as of the airing of this episode we're out of debt! Your films have only added fuel to my fire. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring folks like me who have decided to make these epic hunts a part of our lives to continue to work towards those goals! You've shown us that its possible!
The hard work paid off...battling ROUGH terrain and uncooperative elements....it all makes the end result that much more meaningful!! Hell of a hunt!! Congrats!
I would describe this season as a hunting documentary. This hunt showed the steep terrain better than anything I've seen. Truly awesome production guys, keep it up. Congratulations.
Freakin awesome hunt! You guys by far the best in making these short films. Congrats to Jay! You can tell in his comments after the show that this hunt meant a lot to him in more ways than just getting the goat!.
Epic is a word that comes close to describing what I just watched, but doesn't quite measure up. Mountain Goat is at the top of my list and the saving has started. Awesome video.
Hunting goats is a feeling thats extremely hard to describe and the country they live in is definitely another world! AMAZING job capturing this experience, looking forward to the next film. Great job guys!
I have chased many goats around in the mountains and can honestly say that you guys bring the true essence of what the hunt entails. It's the little things the waiting, glassing, bushing bush, being soaked from the conditions and trying to find a break in the weather! You have truly done a great job in bringing the adventure home for all of us. Thanks and keep it up!!
During the first stalk, I thought my goodness how thick those alders are! And remarked to myself how different it is to not see evergreens of some kind in the mountains, like I’m used to in places I’ve hunted in the lower 48. During the second stalk, I thought my goodness that’s a big bunch of goats! And will he ever stop rolling! Congrats on a great hunt and beautiful video.
From missed shots to giving each other a hard time and a true sense emotion over your success. These details make your videos feel honest and very enjoyable to watch. Congratulations on a beautiful goat.
Congrats on a great billy! It seemed as though that hunt had a bit of it all! Great weather, bad weather, thick brush, elevation, and even some fishing! Thank you for sharing!
I could feel the emotion of what you’d accomplished after the shot. The years of dreaming of the moment, the preparation, the sacrifice and hard work all cumulating to that split second. No need for loud yells or screams, just a quiet calm that most can’t relate to. Too good Jay and my hat’s off to you. Awesome video fellas. They keep getting better!
Thanks Phil, definitely the most profound of all of my hunting experiences. I'll hoot and holler with the best of them on a Coues deer, but considering this may be the only time I ever get to hunt this species, I really wanted to just soak it in.
The weather in the first video had me questioning if I would ever want to hunt kodiak! But after this video and the awesome billy there is no doubt I would love to one day! Thanks for taking us all on the ride and sharing with us!
Thanks Preston. The weather is crazy. But it doesn't last. Before you know it you're back inside. The crazier it is, the more intense the memories. Hope you get to hunt them... but only on the year after I draw my next tag and can't apply ;)
CONGRATULATIONS! I love how your day by day videos are not always finishing the hunt (frustrating at times/yet suspenseful)but rather following the true timeline as the hunts occur. It's exposes the grand scheme and complexity of your hunting season no matter what state the hunts are in. Keep the videos coming.
Excellent!! Love watching goat hunting on kodiak, sure a lot different then here in BC. Awesome billy you took Jay, and great shootin too!! Mountain goat hunting is an addiction, welcome to it!! Keep up the great work fellas, no need for wild tv with your RUclips series, loven it!! Cheers!!
What a dream hunt. Goat is also #1 on my list. Its awesome that you guys are taking the opportunity to go out with other hunters and film there hunts. Class act!
Thanks Robert. It was a pretty easy things for us to do... it meant we get to go goat hunting again. And the couple we're filming have become very good friends at this point.
Jay outstanding hunt congrats on the trophy really enjoyed this one. The filming was great,a hunt that I will never be able to do but felt like I was there, thanks for sharing this
Well done mate. The animals and country remind me of hunting tahr in New Zealand. I’ll be there in 19 days chasing chamois and tahr (my fifth trip). At 44 You’ve given me some motivation. Thanks fellas.
Awesome Jeremy is an animal & A legend on Kodiak . That has been a lifetime dream of mine to hunt Kodiak goats and deer there. I ended up watching it three times today. Excellent footage and I love the heavy pack out . That's a hunt were the average working man can save and do. !!!! Keep up the good work
Being from AZ I never had much of a desire to hunt Mtn Goats. They all look pretty similar and don't have super impressive horns or anything. But a few years ago I saw some while in Utah and was in awe of the nasty canyons and cliffs they call home. Seeing where they live really changed my perspective and helped me gain an appreciation of them. Congrats on your goat!
Great editing guys, your videos are so surreal its like were on the hunts with you guys, the traveling, hiking , even the glassing , including the anticipation of the hunt but also soaking in all the views and country awesome work keep them coming !!
Just had a long day at work and couldn't wait to check out today's video. I really enjoyed the video. It reminded me of some of the reasons we hit the daily grind... to do the the things we love. Thanks!
What a special hunt! That is one animal I have always wished to harvest! Thanks for letting me join you through this video and giving me hope that one day I can do the same!
This was your most memorable, and probably my favorite so far. I haven’t caught up so that COULD change, but that’s a tall order. This hunt was just plainly put...SICK!!!
Im glad to see that your hunt was successful. But more importantly, the amount of emotion that you showed, and those you shared it with is the true meaning of the hunt, and what makes it so special. Your memories will outlast youtube. Thanks for sharing your journey.
The footage of you guys walking across the peaks of those mountains is amazing. The sheer challenge that Alaska presents is the reason a hunt in Alaska is on my bucket list and watching these episodes is bumping it up on the priority list!
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Jeremy thanks for the email the other day. We will be in touch soon to get something booked. Keep up the videos. Quality production. Cheers guys. Whistle pig is one of my favorites.
Whistle Pig was awesome. We had to cut a lot of that little video, cos we looked like drunken fools. Hope you have a great hunt with Jeremy, let us know how you do. It's an awesome experience.
What a true showcase of a mountain hunters persistence and endurance! Its great to see and show all that goes into a adventure such as that, not just the kill shot like some shows. That truly was epic and congrats on the billy. Oh, R&R for the toast?!? Take what's available I guess
hahaha, exactly. All Sam carried up there was the R&R... but it didn't matter. We needed to toast the animal, a tradition we've adopted since we started hunting with Cody V. a few years ago.
Loved this episode, Jay...loved the end as well. It's good to see that a guy who is blessed to hunt quite a bit still feels the profound feelings associated with an opportunity like this. Thanks for being real, man!
Great video and congrats on the goat jay I like how after the first stalk you didn't get all pissed and throw your hat on the ground like I've seen in other you tube videos you just regrouped and started glassing again like a real hunter does and you were rewarded for it.
Fantastic series guys. Loving the scenery and the animals. You could make the videos even longer and show more of the blow by blow of the hunt. I know I’d be interested!
Thanks Mike. We caught on to the idea of doing this a little late. At first these were all going to be single short films, so we filmed them that way. Heading into this fall though, we think we have a pretty good formula down for keeping the quality high, but showing more of the hunt.
Thanks for putting in all the effort. I can imagine how much of a pain in the butt it would be to try and film everything when you’re also trying to have a good hunt. As if hunting isn’t tough enough! I appreciate you putting in the work to make the films so good.
Great Billy! Congrats on such a great goat. I had a opportunity this last fall to hunt goat as well. Remarkable animals and the places they call home. Defiantly gives ya the itch to continue to pursue hunting these animals! Great video and great shooting!
Congrats Jay! Talk about some unreal footage! Where you were shooting from it looks like straight up and down! Looks like such rugged country! Thanks for sharing!
Crushing it! Congratulations on the goat! Can't wait to get over there and harvest one next season! You guys are a great team, I'm really enjoying watching your footage. Thank you for putting in all the time it takes to get a great hunting video put together! I always bring a shooter or two of scotch on our sheep hunts ;) ...Cheers!
Oh man, they're so cool. And where they live, so hostile to how weak humans are. I hope this isn't the only chance I get to do it. I NEED to do it at least once more.
The landscape in Alaska never ceases to amaze me, you can really feel its beauty in the videos, thank you for sharing. Oh and Congrats on a nice Billy! If you could only pick one animal to shoot again between a goat and a sheep which one would you choose?
Congratulations on fulfilling a dream, and thanks for sharing the journey with us! It gets me excited and impatient for my upcoming hunts. I'm relatively new to the channel (a couple weeks maybe?), but I have been binge-watching your stuff; it's so good! Great quality and you guys do a great job of showing the beauty of the areas you're in, which is one of best things about hunting to me; getting outside and experiencing nature. Keep it up!
Thank you Kenneth. Couldn't agree with you more. Hunting gives us a reason to leave the trail, to avoid the crowds in the national parks, and to see the way the world works where humans rarely travel.
Awesome video! Very much a goal of mine is to shoot a billy like that. A good friend of mine got his first billy just this past September. Love the videos and the realistic/down to earth way you fill them! I’m hooked.
Congrats! I love that you show not only the success of the hunts but the struggles as well. It's so real! Do you know about how much your packs weigh when you have to carry camp on your backs?
Thanks Patricia. I don't know how much they weight off hand. It would depend on a lot of things, but I'd guess with camera equipment we're probably around 50-60lbs on most hunts.
Always amazed of the tumble down the hillside, obviously there must be some meat tenderizing happening! Lol. What’s the condition of the animal after.? Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode really enjoying the material. You have my 17 year old son hooked good job thank boys
Thanks Rick. This one was pretty easy, since the tumble was mostly down a grassy slope. We could ask Sam, he made the same tumble and was luckily stopped by an alder about 30 feet from where he started. hahaha.
Loved the suspense you created with that first goat encounter and almost getting a shot. Did you look over every goat in that second basin before you decided on that billy? Solid work gentlemen, I look forward to more episodes.
Nope, there were 3 billies in the mix, and I shot as they were getting ready to vanish. After the goats scrambled, the two remaining billies hooked up with another goat that was probably 4 years older than the one I killed, and a hell of a lot bigger. But I was plenty happy with the one I got.
Why didn't you bring the rum? Because it's a pound ever. Enough said lol. Main Kodak has to be the coolest island in the world. Great hunt great video. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming brothers
Pre tenderize meat! The best organic meat! Sweet video. I can’t wait until tomorrow and the next day. Your videos are awe inspiring! Thanks for sharing. It may not have cured cancer, but it lifts my spirits after a rough day! #cancersucks
Awesome footage. I look forward to the new episodes every day. Question for you guys, what kind of training are you guys doing to prepare for a sheep or goat hunt?
We were in fairly decent shape for these. I'd say the biggest thing to do is climb a lot of hills, with weight on your back is even better. The whole "specificity of training" principle means that you're not going to get a lot of benefit out of doing curls and what not. In the gym, I'd say the most important exercises are going to be things like squats and deadlifts, and a ton of cardio to feed the muscles oxygen, and get rid of the lactic acid buildup.
They're not smelly at all. The meat has a terrific flavor, but can be tough. We'll be cooking some of the little bit I have left of it in some upcoming videos. They're just awesome animals in every way.
Good stuff Jay, congrats on the Billy! What scope is on the rifle in that hunt? Glad you didn’t have to shoot 700yards and make us all look bad. Oh and we are all wondering, what does Billy taste like?
We pretty much wear solids whenever we can, as long as the solid is in a color/shade that's suitable. There might be a small advantage to camo if you're archery hunting, but then as soon as you move it doesn't matter what you're wearing. We mostly look for technical fabrics and cut that are comfortable to move in and create the right micro-climate for where we are and what we're doing.
Remember what I said yesterday about the fishing being so good it'd be tough to go hunting? I stand corrected. How much do you have to worry about meat loss from the goat tumbling down hillsides? That ground looked pretty soft, but I've seen some clips where the animal rolls over some gnarly stuff.
The ground here was just grass, so we were able to get all of it without a problem... but I could imagine them taking a fall off some of those cliffs and it being another story.
That's awesome Tyler, being debt free creates a solid foundation to build a life of adventure on. You're in a good place. Thanks for watching.
The hard work paid off...battling ROUGH terrain and uncooperative elements....it all makes the end result that much more meaningful!! Hell of a hunt!! Congrats!
Thank you Jake
I would describe this season as a hunting documentary. This hunt showed the steep terrain better than anything I've seen. Truly awesome production guys, keep it up. Congratulations.

awesome! I'm really hoping I get to hunt them at least one more time before I leave this rock. Thanks for watching.
Hunting goats is a feeling thats extremely hard to describe and the country they live in is definitely another world! AMAZING job capturing this experience, looking forward to the next film. Great job guys!
Thanks Chris, could not agree with you more. I'm hoping this won't be my only chance to hunt them.
The Mountain Project put in for Colorado the goats are thriving and starting to issue more tags.
Thanks Mark. Wait till you see tomorrows video. It's a great example of what goats live through.
Thank you Bill. I hate hate hate the alders.
From missed shots to giving each other a hard time and a true sense emotion over your success. These details make your videos feel honest and very enjoyable to watch. Congratulations on a beautiful goat.
Thanks Ryan
Congrats on a great billy! It seemed as though that hunt had a bit of it all! Great weather, bad weather, thick brush, elevation, and even some fishing! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Congrats Jay, glad you were able fulfill that lifelong dream! What an experience....those memories will last forever.
Thanks James

No need for loud yells or screams, just a quiet calm that most can’t relate to. Too good Jay and my hat’s off to you. Awesome video fellas. They keep getting better!
Phillip Cramer great minds think alike. However your mind is better at putting into words.
Thanks Phil, definitely the most profound of all of my hunting experiences. I'll hoot and holler with the best of them on a Coues deer, but considering this may be the only time I ever get to hunt this species, I really wanted to just soak it in.
Such an awesome film. There is just something about mountain goats that makes them to intriguing and mysterious. You captured that aspect perfectly!
Thanks Trent
The weather in the first video had me questioning if I would ever want to hunt kodiak! But after this video and the awesome billy there is no doubt I would love to one day! Thanks for taking us all on the ride and sharing with us!

Awesome how hunting can bring people together!
I’m already hoping I pull off a miracle and draw the Utah mountain goat hunt and this makes the desire even bigger. Congrats on your Billy!
Good luck on that draw. They're awesome animals.
Jay outstanding hunt congrats on the trophy really enjoyed this one. The filming was great,a hunt that I will never be able to do but felt like I was there, thanks for sharing this
Thanks Audey... I'd imagine your trip to NZ will be somewhat like this no?
You should have the whole crew share their dream hunts, its cool to hear what someone's ideal hunt would be and why. Great video again!
We'll work on this.
Well done mate. The animals and country remind me of hunting tahr in New Zealand. I’ll be there in 19 days chasing chamois and tahr (my fifth trip). At 44 You’ve given me some motivation. Thanks fellas.

Thanks John.
Well done Jay! Impressed y’all have been able to capture awesome footage through all that crazy weather!
Thanks Austin. It was awesome. Exactly what you want out of an Alaska trip.
This was your most memorable, and probably my favorite so far. I haven’t caught up so that COULD change, but that’s a tall order. This hunt was just plainly put...SICK!!!
Thanks Albert! One of our favorites as well
Im glad to see that your hunt was successful. But more importantly, the amount of emotion that you showed, and those you shared it with is the true meaning of the hunt, and what makes it so special. Your memories will outlast youtube. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thanks so much. It was certainly a profound moment for me.
So freaking awesome. There are hundreds off deer and elk videos but very few good videos on goats. Really cant wait for another great film tomorrow.
Thanks Zane
The footage of you guys walking across the peaks of those mountains is amazing. The sheer challenge that Alaska presents is the reason a hunt in Alaska is on my bucket list and watching these episodes is bumping it up on the priority list!
Blake Shaver Amen on that.
Those mountains definitely get into who you are as a person. I'm hopeful for many more trips to the northern latitudes.
This is definitely at the top of my bucket list for hunts of a lifetime! Thank you for sharing it with all of us!
I'm hoping it's not the last chance I get to hunt them.
Kartwheel action post shot was insane. I thought for sure the black spike broke off when you walked up! Great video's so far!
Thanks Bret. That horn was all that kept it from rolling all the way down the mountain.
Just want to say, your hunts are great. Also your opening credits are likely the best I have seen. Who ever picks your music is on point...
Thank you!

Thank you Zach.
Great video and congrats on the goat jay I like how after the first stalk you didn't get all pissed and throw your hat on the ground like I've seen in other you tube videos you just regrouped and started glassing again like a real hunter does and you were rewarded for it.
Thanks James.

Thanks Joseph.
Big Congrats Jay!!!! Amazing footage and good goat!! Keep it up fellas
Appreciate it Vince. And for your sharing these on Facebook everyday.

Thanks so much man.
Great end to a story. Really liked your narrative at the end. Good job man.
Thanks Jeffrey.
Looks like your right behind my house!!! Love watching the goats on the mountain. Hoping to get my first goat this year with my bow!
Aw man, I'm pretty jealous of you living there. Good luck with your bow. Let us know how you do.
Great Billy! Congrats on such a great goat. I had a opportunity this last fall to hunt goat as well. Remarkable animals and the places they call home. Defiantly gives ya the itch to continue to pursue hunting these animals! Great video and great shooting!
Absolutely. I'm hopeful to hunt them at least one more time. They are too cool.
Sweet billy! Congrats Jay! Such cool looking animals.
Thank you
There is something about your guide, his face, body language, demeanor, that screams Alaska. Another great video gents. Cheers!
Jeremy's been there a long time, and definitely knows what he's doing. Goats are one of his favorite hunts, so he was in his element.
Another great hunt in the Kodiak series. Superb job capturing the essence of the hunt and your experiences. Can't wait for the next episode. BRAVO!
Thank you
Nice segment. We enjoyed it. Like always. Great goat. Congrats
Congrats Jay! Talk about some unreal footage! Where you were shooting from it looks like straight up and down! Looks like such rugged country! Thanks for sharing!

The animals deserve to be toasted... Thanks Aaron. Let us know how your goat hunt goes.
I have never wanted to hunt Goats, I do now! Great video, one of the best I have watched.
Oh man, they're so cool. And where they live, so hostile to how weak humans are. I hope this isn't the only chance I get to do it. I NEED to do it at least once more.
There are a few animals on my bucket list (desert sheep!) Goats moved up the list, thanks again.
The landscape in Alaska never ceases to amaze me, you can really feel its beauty in the videos, thank you for sharing. Oh and Congrats on a nice Billy!
If you could only pick one animal to shoot again between a goat and a sheep which one would you choose?
Good question Cassie, I'm going to have to think about that.
Awesome and video. Can’t wait for the next.
Thanks so much for watching.
I have truly enjoyed this series ever episode gets better
Thanks Parker.
Keep it up guys. Awesome!
Congratulations on fulfilling a dream, and thanks for sharing the journey with us! It gets me excited and impatient for my upcoming hunts.

On a roll in Alaska! Congratulations on the great billy
Thanks Adam
Great video. Keep up the great work guys and looking forward to tomorrow’s video!
Thank you Justin. Tomorrow's video is intense.
There is something all too relatable to the literal and metaphorical highs and lows and highs of your hunts.
Thanks Anthony.
Awesome video! Very much a goal of mine is to shoot a billy like that. A good friend of mine got his first billy just this past September. Love the videos and the realistic/down to earth way you fill them! I’m hooked.
Thanks Samuel. We'd love to see your friend's billy. They're awesome animals.
Another great video. Thumbs up
Thank you Douglas.
Great views. Nice goat. Thank for sharing with us. Congratulations.
Good shit. Goat is on my list as well. I second the videography, that too is bad-ass.
Thanks Oscar.
You guys are doing a great job. Love the video.
Thanks for info, cool , keep on keeping on !
Another awesome episode!!!
Another greatly edited video! You guys consistently put out amazing quality videos. I look forward to watching every day. Keep up the great work👍
Thanks Bill. We really appreciate it.
Awesome hunt!! Congratulations! Epic
Thank you

Why didn't you bring the rum? Because it's a pound ever. Enough said lol. Main Kodak has to be the coolest island in the world. Great hunt great video. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming brothers
Thanks for watching. It's definitely my favorite island.
Awesome footage. Felt like I was there!
Thank you!
Kodiak is one of my favorite places on earth
Same here. Thanks for watching.
Pre tenderize meat! The best organic meat! Sweet video. I can’t wait until tomorrow and the next day. Your videos are awe inspiring! Thanks for sharing. It may not have cured cancer, but it lifts my spirits after a rough day! #cancersucks
Thank you. #cancerdefinitelysucks
Awesome Billy! Jeremy looks like a great guide to go with. How are you going to get him mounted?
Thanks Cole. We pulled the cape for a full body. Jeremy has been excellent to hunt with.
A+! Awesome video of Kodiak and the goats. One nice Billy!! Never got a chance to eat goat, wonder if it taste as good as sheep?
Alaskahuntr the goat I've had is unique. No need to add mushrooms it has plenty of Earth flavor already.
Good to know! Thanks
Pretty rich flavor. I've really enjoyed it, and only have a few pounds of ground left.
Does everything take a tumble down hill in Alaska? Lol
Another great video and another hunt I need to do.
Pretty much. Applications are due in December. I drew it my first year applying.
Awesome footage, definitely a dream hunt for me too. They live in gnarly country. Amazing animals. How long did it take to draw a kodiak tag?
I drew it my first time applying.
Another awesome video. Curious what the meat from mountain goat tastes like. They look like they'd be a smelly, very gamey tasting animal.
One of my favorite hunts I've ever done. Mine was surreal, was a diy hunt, and I still think about it. Great job, congratulations
They're not smelly at all. The meat has a terrific flavor, but can be tough. We'll be cooking some of the little bit I have left of it in some upcoming videos. They're just awesome animals in every way.
Did you laze the distance from where he was shot to where he landed? That was a great hunt, Jay!
I don't remember that ever did.
Great video
Thank you.
awesome hunt
Good stuff Jay, congrats on the Billy! What scope is on the rifle in that hunt? Glad you didn’t have to shoot 700yards and make us all look bad. Oh and we are all wondering, what does Billy taste like?
Thanks Matt. It's the Viper HS-T 4-14x. Goat is excellent. A little tough, but has great flavor. Just make sure not to cook it past medium.
What factors do you guys take in when deciding if you are going to wear solids or camo pattern clothes?
We pretty much wear solids whenever we can, as long as the solid is in a color/shade that's suitable. There might be a small advantage to camo if you're archery hunting, but then as soon as you move it doesn't matter what you're wearing. We mostly look for technical fabrics and cut that are comfortable to move in and create the right micro-climate for where we are and what we're doing.
What date was this hunt around or what time of year? Like first week of October? Good work 🙌
Remember what I said yesterday about the fishing being so good it'd be tough to go hunting? I stand corrected.
How much do you have to worry about meat loss from the goat tumbling down hillsides? That ground looked pretty soft, but I've seen some clips where the animal rolls over some gnarly stuff.
The ground here was just grass, so we were able to get all of it without a problem... but I could imagine them taking a fall off some of those cliffs and it being another story.
