No offense but thats why you'll never be one.. wealthy people who give are careful about where their money goes.. you have no idea from a 5 minute video what the real story is.. all you have is the bones (not even all of them) not the meat.. they say there are 3 sides to a story.. his, hers, and the truth which lies somewhere in between.. you're getting 5 minutes of only one side.. it's very nice to want to help all of the people in these videos but it's also extremely naive and irresponsible.. My advice for anyone wanting to help is to volunteer and if you only want to help monetarily then donate to an organization that provides them services (housing, job placement, substance abuse treatment, mental health assistance, education, teaching a trade, therapy, financial planning etc).. The one thing they don't provide that your money does.. drugs and alcohol.. it's sad but it's true.. many people who find themselves in this situation are there at least partially because of substance abuse.. not all but far too many to just be handing out money based on what someone can say in a 5 minute span.. that's naive and irresponsible..
We’re in a country where it’s impossible in America to help people financially. Anything over 1k they will have to pay taxes on which makes it hard on them aswell on you.

I wore the uniform for nearly 30 years, have been on so many deployments I can’t even count them all unless I sit down and really think about it. These were some of the most dangerous and awful places one can even imagine. Somehow, I made it through. But it was more than luck, it was hard work and sheer determination. When I see a guy like this, who can’t even take care of himself, why would a woman even want someone like that? He appears able bodied and able minded, what is going on here? There must be more to the story and they never go into the whole story, because that might destroy the narrative, which is for us to feel sorry for him. Spousal abuse? Drug use? Police record? Does he even have an honorable discharge? Many homeless vets do not. Did he even serve in a combat zone? Many vets were weekend warriors who never left the states and then walked away from duty, and the national guard just takes them off the rolls administratively. They then walk around saying they are veterans which I find really offensive considering the decades of hard service that I did. Anyway, these interviews need to be much more in depth. They never ask the hard questions, they never get to the root of the problem. It’s just fluff intended to make us all feel sorry for them. Sorry, I need more in order to make a proper decision. Kathy, I appreciate your attitude on all of this, but just understand that when you are talking about veterans, it’s much more nuanced than people think.

The irony is, that very same land he's staying on, the VA Campus, was actually legally allocated to veterans to live on in the structures that are there... The land was privately owned, but it has been used to house veterans since the Civil War, and the citizens who owned the land have willed it to veterans specifically to help them get on their feet. How True, if you have a Vast amount of wealth, it is nice to be able to help people, that really need it,
No offense but thats why you'll never be one.. wealthy people who give are careful about where their money goes.. you have no idea from a 5 minute video what the real story is.. all you have is the bones (not even all of them) not the meat.. they say there are 3 sides to a story.. his, hers, and the truth which lies somewhere in between.. you're getting 5 minutes of only one side.. it's very nice to want to help all of the people in these videos but it's also extremely naive and irresponsible..

We recruit kids who barely know anything to go out and possibly take a life. We coerce the poor to put on a uniform with promises of money, education, and a career. Publicly, we romanticize war. Privately, the military hides the ugliness. Voters don't inform themselves or only think of their own self interest.
Kathy, I appreciate your attitude on all of this, but just understand that when you are talking about veterans, it’s much more nuanced than people think.
they never served their country, they served the corrupt government and the private corporations that are hand in hand with the military and the government. this is the thing . it's sad. nobody has attacked america, so how do you serve your country when you are fighting a war for oil or for private interests? that's sad and so many people get forced into it because they do not have a place to live, a job , or simply because they love their country. The country is no longer the people's , it is the government's and corporations' . Peace out.
@katherine harvey it's really sad. indieed.
@@ubon11 So he needs to go full Rambo and eat bullets for breakfast before someone is a veteran is what you're saying..
Yep yet USA gives Israel billions of dollars a year, and Israel is wealthy enough to have their own space program.
Your work is amazing. Thank you for bringing these beautiful faces to us. I wish no one fell behind. I wish for no more struggle. I wish for no more pain.
He seemed so strong and positive and then at the end was the first on Invisible People who couldn't even give their 3 wishes, that absolutely devastated me
It wasnt easy to watch this interview, me my self went through same situation and end upp sleeping in the parks, it took me 3 years to build a living again and start from begining, it was a pure hell. I undrestand this dude from deep of my heart and hope him best ❤️❤️
Hope you're doing well! 💪
👍👍👍 bro where r u from ?I mean which country ?
I see heartless people commenting here. Why are you like this humanity? I hope he does well now. Greetings from Germany
Dear Miran: yes, some comments are very cruel. Your comment is empathic. I also hope that he is doing better today. Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald
Your momma
Looks like from Turkey
@@Nemo67577 same here nemo, have a nice journey in this beautiful yet sad road called life
@@mazniqtbobur3800 look, one of this guys you were talking about, @miran
Heartbreaking. The world we all have been born into is a very broken one. I hope this lovely man is doing better. He seems like a kind-hearted soul and is also very handsome.
He is at his most vulnerable and traumatized... He is intelligent and well spoken. He will get back on his feet.
Dawn, ask yourself why this handsome guy is not in a chick's apartment right now. He has major issues.
@@GUITARTIME2024 divorces are traumatic, this is all real fresh... who knows all the details.. I can't judge. Actually his wife can't make him leave or change the locks legally. She needed to give him at least 30 days, he has rights... I hope someone tells him this...
@@mindovermatter2day you are assuming he's telling the truth. I tell ya, the storytelling you hear from homeless people is often exaggerated. they downplay thier addiction and/or mental issues (very common in homeless), and always have an ex who did them wrong, evil mom, crappy employer, or some long involved story of oppression, etc. (you are right, the wife that "throws them out" is already legally questionable). there are tons of homeless services in LA, trust me. handsome boy ain't starving.
@Klaa2 what????? Im not sure who you are directing that comment towards but its an aweful thing to communicate in any form towards anyone. Here's sending you sympathy for having such a dark heart that you felt you needed to communicate that to anyone... 🖤🗣
Jez.. watching these videos really makes you appreciate the life you have, and seeing how you should value the small things more. I wish the best for them
To see a soldier cried. It is painful. He must have suffered much.
Soldiers are just people, and men at the end of the day. Trained to suppress their emotions. They suffer a lot. I met a guy playing Rust, was in Light Infantry and had been deployed. He enjoyed playing the game as I think it took his mind off things, farming resources etc.
U stupid
Bless you sir. I was homeless for 7 months last year. I have a place now. I wish you the best. And thank you for your service.
Seems like a very nice guy - hope things get better. I think he's on meds for his PTSD. He seems so upset. Glad he's in touch with VA for help❣️
A fine and noble man. What a great shame and travesty of our world to have good men like this living not only on the streets but lonely and devoid of human empathy for the most part. This man and so many homeless deserve nothing but empathy and love from all they encounter.
I know that look when he asked about his three wishes...I don't want to do this living thing anymore. But you can't say that because that is the end of the line. He's holding on.
He looks good, seems to have a good outlook, sad, especially a veteran would be homeless!
I wish they would set you up a go fund me account. God bless you and thank you for your service.
Through the years, I think of John!
Hope he has found happiness again and hopefully a new lady in his life, he's a handsome man...
