Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

“Let’s not push random buttons”
Well that kind of attitude just won’t do!!!
Cant just touch buttons? I would just quit then, pushing buttons is the fun part
You just know that because zach said he doesn't know how it works that he's just gonna push the hydraulic buttons and see what the machine does. So that would be exactly the same.
We have seen many episodes of Zach doing just that then calls John Deere to come out and fix it. ha ha ha
Onyx* wanted to figure it out like a man. He got shut down. Now hes traumatized and will no longer think for himself and rely on the nanny state to program AI into everything so he can blog about "the struggle" while sipping a chai latte... X-D
You just bopped the bop here man! Such a perfect vid, the s*** we learn every week on the farm,... sometimes,..the wrong way! 😂 How many times have we all witnessed that what was right a moment ago,.. turn , and become f***, that went wrong! Wait, what's that!? A new Off the Husk episode?? Randy, Zach, Beck, stories that may or may not have happened..that way.
I've seen comments in the past asking for a Jim Cam..
After his commentary in this video about being stuck, I can whole heatedly say we NEED a Jim Cam!!! Give the guys GoPro and let him have his few minutes of glory each episode :)
He talked about maybe getting him a go pro on the about the family podcast. I think it'd be a great addition to have a day in the life of Jim segment
JimCast would be awesome!
YES!
Yes we need a jim cam i would love you hear his reaction when he gets the tractor stuck
Hearing him say god damn is one of the greatest sound clips I’ve ever heard. 😂😂😂😂
Jim's commentary while holding the camera is priceless.
Id just like to give a huge shout out to Mrs. Millennial Farmer. She puts in so much work to give us these wonderful videos for our enjoyment. On top of that she has to school her children in these un-precedented times, do her job, and help with the farm. A huge thank you to a great hard working American woman. I believe you guys are fulfilling your goal of repairing the disconnect people have with where their food comes from.
P.S. Mrs. Millennial Farmer nice safety toe sandals! 😂
And she makes Zach look smart 😂😂😂😂😂👍
Hayden Jeffries along with other ‘matrimonial duties’ (ahem). The weaker sex? Don’t believe it, these women are made of steel! Respect.
@@howarddavies6685 completely agree. Much respect!
It would be hilarious if onyx popped out from behind the fender when you knock on the bathroom door
"I thought he'd never leave", best part of the video, lol.
Full millennial mode? We only have a fully working radio in one tractor... And it’s a red one 🙈 Sorry Deere fans 🦌 they all have cabs now though ✌️😂
“I thought he’d never leave...” lmao
yeah, that was extremely well earned. 😂
Yup, Becky nailed it =D
You remind me of my husband. He is 74 and still loving it and going strong
I love how Onyx and Becky is driving the tractor all by themselves. Growing your kids up the right way! I love it!
Jim’s reaction to getting stuck again was hilarious
My favourite part is the operator, because without him we wouldn't have high quality entertainment 👍🏼👍🏼
I love this channel Zach is funny 😆😭🤬🥱
Deere has a system that can link your cart and combine. The tractor will automatically move to unload once the driver is in the area and hits the auto track. Once the combine is linked the combine operater can actually move the car forward or backwards on the unload auger to fill different parts of the cart. That is true millennial mode zach.
DumbOhioFarmboy Machine Sync. Not only combine/tractor but also tractor/tractor. Saw a demo last year, impressive and crazy.
Somehow there is unemployment when the farmer has to use technology to get the job done because of shortage of qualified help.
Yea we prototyped this when it first came out. Was the biggest joke ever. Even the techs that came out with the machine didn’t like it. That’s been about 4-5 years ago so I guess it’s came a long way since then. Atleast I hope
Top job Mrs Millennial Farmer and Onyx! There's something to having learned a task at a young age that makes it natural and keeps it that way. I'm more than glad you're working hard as a team, and setting up Onyx with a skill in his hands. Whatever he does he'll do well.
Once this rig goes back how are you ever going to live. You better order one for next year 2021 don't ever leave Millennial mode.
This video starts in the morning. I hear the birds, I hear the peacefulness, only think internet cannot bring is the sweet smell of dewy grass and the smell of your freshly cultivated ground moving in the slight morning air movement that I know was there. Midwest farming is the best!
I. Remember back in my day we had to be IN the tractor. And it was uphills both ways to the field.
I know I am not commenting on the right video content, but we wanted to let you know that even very small homesteaders love your videos! We have just a few acres (2)...We have a rabbitry (100+ rabbits), some chickens and grow our own fruit trees and organic vegetables in central Florida...We thank you VERY much for your property boundary marker tip of the PVC pipe and T posts... We have a neighbor who sometimes mows uncomfortably close to our fruit trees and these boundary markers are perfect! We wanted you to know that even little farmers get great information from your content...and yes, we love watching the big tractors and combines too!
I love how you delegate all the muddy fields to Jim
Beck's big bag of stuff reminds of my mother and the days of going to sporting events. Always have to bring everything along even the kitchen sink.
The patriotic paint scheme is my favorite element of the seed tender.
God bless you and your family for feeding the rest of us.
The best part of that Seed Tinder is, that it's been operated by a Farmer in the USA ... 👍👍
I've learned so much in the two years I've watched you, pls keep it up I've never knew this much about farming as I do now thanks to you. You're GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Favorite part on the seed tender-the technology. Stay safe guys......✌
Watching beck and onyx was awsome the kid is going to turn to be a good little farmer little young yet but starting early is the best I was driving 3ton grain trucks and unloading into bins catching combines on the fly when I was 12 !!! Go onyx!!! You the man
Loved the others adding their perspective-especially Becky saying I thought he’d never leave. LOL 😄
My favorite family farmer. Your such a good Dude
it makes my day when you let him have the camera just give him one for him to have for the day
Amazing technology all around ! Tractors are just huge smart devices lately ! It's awesome to get to see from a farmer's point of view all those things unfolding and helping their operator ! Back in the day when everything was done by hand the farms were also limited by the man power they had ...now a satellite and a tractor with implements can do so much more !
Thanks for this amazing video once more !
As soon as you left them- Becky said "I thought he'd never, ever leave" and Onyx said "Yea"
Good lord, WHO 👎 this stuff? Zach, Becky this is entertaining and fun to watch. Keep it up, love it!
I did a little work on some small farms when I was younger. Mostly on a horse farm and on another farm following the tractor around and throwing rocks into the bucket. I do have to say that your channel has gave be a new respect to the farmers and farm community. I have learned a lot from watching you and of course the tractors are pretty cool too. Keep up the great work! Oh and the J&M LC390 Speed Tender is really cool! One thing I never thought of before watching was how the seeds got into the planter.
You asked about what people liked about the seed tender, I really like the paint job with the flag painted around the top. And of course, it goes without saying, the remote control. Awesome.
"I'll have to use my arms, this will be exhausting, I shouldn't have to deal with this.." So, you've met my son? Great video, God Bless.
Makes my day with a new Millennial farmer video. Seriously makes me wish I would've went into farming like my Grandfather did many many years ago. He grew potatoes and cabbage mostly in western New York state in an area where many grow many kinds of onions today.
"Aw, he could have buried it deeper than that." You've thrown down a challenge! I'll be watching eagerly lol
So yeah.... A BIG thumbs up to seeing Onyx and Becky driving the tractor on their own. Especially Onyx. Hope to see more of this. 6th Generation getting started. Congrats on the 500,000 subscribers again Zach. Keep it going
Rule number one of coming upon someone who is stuck: try to ease tension by making a witty comment such as “boy you got her in there good” or “that’s a stupid place to park”
Geez I didnt know we had an underground garage!
@@vnyggi621 boy you dont give up do ya?
"I warned you not to honk off the gophers..."
Seems like you took my parking space is a good one too!
My favorite part of the seed tender is how it can load itself up with the conveyor belt and unload itself with with the conveyor belt.
I reckon Jim lost his "Employee of the Month" parking spot.😞
No his spot is the soggy areas in the field
In the one split second you show onyx driving hes was juiced that was me when my grandpa let me mow at his age
More Jim! He needs his own camera! His commentary is spot on! 😂
Have to be censured lololol
God bless you and your family and all you do for this country USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
“I won’t put it on RUclips” technically Becky did! Lol
shoot... ain't that a running joke anytime ur near a big youtube star? plus we've been dying to have Jim get something stuck all Spring!!! He couldn't let his fans down!!
Zack, I have people who say my sense of humor is dry ... I bow to you AS MY BETTER!. I love the "Potty break" references and your frequent discussions with dead and live animals. You break me up ... while educate me. thanks. John from Louisville.
Larson Farms added lights to their seeder, so you can see the seed level. Should be standard equipment.
I fell in love with that tractor !!! What a way to plant were was that 45 years ago !!
My favorite part of the seed tender is I'm not the one making the payments on it😆 Keep up the great work and stay safe.
I literally did the same thing with my morning “coffee” the other day it was just a taste of how that day was gonna go for me
You- look at that Sunrise it's going to be a good day
Carma- hold my beer
😂😂
Finally saw a blue machine after months of watching. Love me some ford/new holland.
Jim needs a RUclips channel so we see if he does it on purpose
Probably does it on purpose
🤣🤣
Orrrrrrrr,.....maybe Zach has Jim do these things on purpose, to get more "views/thumbs up" for the channel?!?! (Ha!Ha!)
He just wanted to try the yankem ropes
@@MillennialFarmer I still say it wasn't bad enough, he needs to sink the 9560 up past the bogey wheels with the digger!!!
The best thing about the seed tender is that it’s Green and has the flag of this wonderful country on it.
Jim really needs a camera! Love his commentary.
Best part of the seed tender - 6 wheeled and paint job.
Once field programmed, the REAL test is to put a cinder block in the seat and let the tractor do 50-75 acres on its own. I'm sure the Deere guys have already tried that. :-D
A. Everything of that JML is amazing.
B. We only dairy farm, we've never seen that ever.
I love listening to your podcasts while i am doing my schoolwork.
It looks like Onyx, is on his way to making a good farm hand. (Excuse the spelling of I butchered it)
JM manufacturing is made a few miles from my house in west centeral Ohio. That is my favorite part!
I thought he’d never leave 🤣🤣🤣 she’s done you good there Zach
This video puts knots in my stomach.
I have been crunching numbers trying to find a way to start farming and watch videos like this and wonder how I’m ever gonna be able to compete.
Starting a farm from scratch sure ain’t easy.
Every time it beeps on your end when watching it makes me look at all my monitors
The J&M LC390 Speed Tender is the Disney Princess of seed tenders; perfect in every way....
'This is gonna be exhausting, and i *shouldn't* have to deal with this!" 😂😂😂
My favorite part about the seed tender is how fast it loads the seed boxes on the planter
Ok fine, i'll start studying in 15 minutes.
Why do you study when its online school?
@@laci_2149 good question
For me it’s no online school, we are still going to school every day in Sweden🇸🇪
Haha we are out of school
Onyx was the epitome of the YOUNG Millennial Farmer behind the wheel of the tractor, checking the monitor screens, looking behind and especially when MOM says "we finished this field" Onyx "but now we have to go to the next field" Mom "we have to wait for Dad to come and fold up the rollers. Onyx " I bet we can figure it out ourselves" It was good that Becky & Onyx were on camera
Longer is better!😏 Always have content with Jim on the job, lol.
"Sell out!" Lol laughed my * at that. Looks like Onyx may be starting to get the bug to run equipment maybe, certainly not scared of it it seems like. The Jim cam would be awesome if he'd do it, a magnetic mount and voice activation turned on and it'd be perfect😂🤣 That'd be alot of buckets to bleep out for Becky🤦♂️
That is INSANE!!! I’m a 4th generation farmer. But we have NOTHING like that here in South Georgia. Fields aren’t large enough for auto operations!!! Very cool feature🤙🏻
What did we ever do before computers and GPS systems were ever on tractors. I mean how did the old-timers even get anything done? Haha
What I like about the J&M SEEDTENDER IS THE COVER
Young Onyx flexing on us with the airpods
DyNaMiC -_- those are moms. We were sharing.
shoot.... in a tractor goin up n down the field? sounds like airpods would be required equipment for any millennial....
Awesome tractor Zach
I feel so sorry for you with your non end row auto steer, I'm lucky to get a row marker to work so I can follow it when I plant with a jd 8770 four-wheel drive and a great plains three section 35 or 40ft grain drill😂😂😂😂
Nice ride. You got a good helper coming up fast!!! He has grown a lot. That gopher trapping has been good for him!!! He will be tilling soon!!
"THUNDERRRR" said along as I sit alone watching RUclips....
Becky sounded less than thrilled to be going to work the field !! ;)
The day I've waited for the past 2 years, the Jim cam
For me, your video's are the best content there is to watch on youtube atm. Keep up the good work, great job farming and great video's!
Don’t try this a home kids but you could put a concrete block on the seat and you could get it to do the hole Field but I don’t recommend it love the videos keep them coming m8
Out on the farm basically an autonomous
Invincibl3 yep
Give us more Jim!! He is the real goat 🐐
When you see Jim's name in the title. You know it's Real.
7:20 my favorite part is that it's from Ohio!! The heart of it all!!
"Let's not push random buttons"
Thats how some of us learned how to do it. 😉
Just remember back in your dads day you had to steer all day and all night. 😁🤠🇦🇺
That J&M seed tender is nice, but the feature I really love the most about it is, somebody else is making the payments on it!
Would Dad adopt a 57 year old man? He is so cool!!! I promise I would be a good kid. You guys have to much fun playing all day
Hey Zach iv watched every video you’ve posted and I wish I could grow up on a farm and I love your videos so much and the off the husk pod casts
I wish I was born on a farm too... I was raised in the suburbs with no machinery and no gardening. I am realizing that those too things are becoming a passion and I'm thinking about going back to school to study in small scale vegetable production. The dream would be a market garden producing food all year round in green houses here, up north in Canada.
Jean Lafrance I have worked on many farms but I don’t live on one I do have animals we take care of and we have tractors but we don’t have anything massive
Mr. Zach, another entertaining episode! Holy buckets! good to see Mrs. Millennial Farmer out there helping out, REMEMBER she's smarter, prettier, and SMELLS better than the lot of you. Glad to see you didn't have to fire Jim AGAIN and you didn't have to lug around 300# of chain to pull him out that kinetic rope is awesome. I would say the best part of the JM LC390 speedtender is it didn't run out of GAS LIKE THE LAST TIME during 2019 planting??!! AND congrats for not steering SKYNET....i mean BIG GREEN for at least 100 acres!! I think that deserves a LOOK MA! NO HANDS!
It's always fun to play in the mud especially when you have a John Deere
Like I told you last time he got stuck. Your ground has soft spots! Take that ton of front weights off your tractors! No wonder they sink in soft ground.
Awesome looking seed tender
How polite to knock first to see if restroom was occupied
Good to see you regularly water your fields.
My favorite part of the "J&M LC390 Seed Tender" is...... (drum roll).... the patriotic red/white/blue graphics.
My favorite part of the seed tender is the fact that I am setting in my easy chair...retired, not working 200 hr. weeks in the spring!
After listening to the podcast about the swearing when Jim comes on makes me appreciate Beckys edit of pulling Jim out 😂😂 some editing acrobatics happened there.
The way I look at that is that Jim has seen most and done many. I feel like he's earned the right have a reason for a few prayers at the end of the day. 😂
DAT Zombie hell yeah, I completely agree. If I had it my way they would leave all of that in to show the reality of life. Plus I think it would be funny as hell. Just know that the monetization algorithms would not be kind with those four letter words...
@@lukemcelwain5559 can I get an amen for Jim? 😂🙏 #theworldneedsmoreJimsandMFrs
And Zach's Dad. Sir, the upmost respect to you! Thank you for breeding a Champion Nate! 😂👍👍 That podcast hit home.
@@lukemcelwain5559 what sucks is the algorithm goes not just the audio of the words, but reads your lips, the beeps... everything... it sucks!!
I've been listening to the off the husk podcast while out in the field seeding. I enjoy the stories that you guys have. Can't wait for more.
“OH, he could of buried it deeper than that”
John Jensen that’s what she said
Donovan damnit I was gonna say that
*giggity*
NeedForSpeed2004 haha
All you guys are fantasizing!
My favorite thing about the 450 is how happy it makes you.
