    What are YOUR favourite accessories for your X100's? Let's get a list going!

    Thank you for the NiSi filter/hood recomendation! Everyone just talks about the Squarehood, not much information about the nisi option. However far better in my opinion: it looks nice, is far cheaper, you only need one piece for all and keeps the original front. Genius

    I notice nisi also do a mist filter instead of UV. Haven't tried it but may get one.

      Hoping to do a comparison using it sometime, trying to work my magic with a couple of manufacturers 🤫

    I love the lens hood. Mine just came in the mail today. It's not really as big as some of the others
    I've tried, and looks great. Kind of keeps the sleekness of the camera intact. Thanks.

    Thanks for these videos Ben, really useful, no matter than you’ve offloaded your Fuji now. I’m ff Nikon but wanted to try something to just pick up and go out, maybe get into a bit of street stuff. I can see this going either way, I’ll love it and use it, or the initial enthusiasm will be eliminated, and I’ll offload and buy a prime lens for my Z7.

    Can’t go wrong with Peak Design, quality products. Could you tie the anchors to the lugs on the body and not bother with the rings from the Allen key? Folks online seem to use a leather or imitation lug cover to protect from scratches?

    I just bought the NiSi UV Filter for my X100T and after installed on the camera lens, I the Fujifilm Cap does not fit over the NiSi filter. Do you know why?

      This is an X100V accessory video. The T has a different lens & lens cap design

      OH ok, I didn't notice that. NiSi didn't mention that on their website, all they mention was it's compatible with all X100 Series. Thanks!

    From 4:18 onwards I was sat hovering over my keyboard ready to post my recommendation and you went and stole my thunder 😆 I purchased the NiSi filter for all the same reasons as you plus the fact that it still allows me to use Fuji's leather case. You can't do that with any of the alternatives I found. PS I got myself a Fuji X branded Peak Design strap. That's a good purchase too 😉

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  4 года назад +1

      It's great isn't it! I actually have a video scheduled for tomorrow all about it - thought it'd be worthwhile seeing as nobody else seems to know about it! That and it's the only thing anyone's mentioning in the comments of this video 🤣

    • @TonyNeat
      @TonyNeat 4 года назад

      Famau Media I think Fuji did us a favour by never having any stock of their filter option. I’d probably be using that now if it was ever available when I checked. I use NiSi filters anyway so it was always going to be the first place I checked for an alternative. Glad I did too 🙂

    Doesnt the presence of glass, even if coated, defeated the purpose of a lens shade? Can the glass be easily removed?

  • @suyan9733
    @suyan9733 3 года назад

    This hood and filter combo seems ok but I'm worried about the quality of the filter...a good filter is not cheap and they does have a role...maybe look into the Haoge square hood, heard good things about it and the original camera cap will fit as well.

  • @smartwave9
    @smartwave9 3 года назад

    Did you experience flare with Nisi UV filter as there is no hood to deal with stray light.

  • @juangcastro
    @juangcastro 3 года назад

    Hey Famau, I evaluated the filter/hood from Nisi you showed, but I just thought that there would be flaring from the light hitting the filter glass from an angle, defeating the whole purpose of having a hood. How's been your results with this when dealing with midday sunlight?

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  3 года назад

      Don't shoot into the sun 🤷‍♂️ I'm only mainly using the filter in wet conditions anyway, which is all the time over the last few months!

    Hi Ben
    Sorry for bothering you.
    Thanks for all your videos on RUclips.
    Can I ask if you noticed any big differences with the non Fuji batteries in your x100V ?
    I need to buy one or two but I need brought non Fuji for my cameras. Thanks

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  3 года назад

      They don't last quite as long, but for the price they're decent. I did pick up another genuine Fujifilm battery when Amazon had an offer on though 💁‍♂️ at least Fujifilm haven't done the same thing as Sony, flashing a warning and not displaying battery percentage when using third party batteries - does my head in!

    Cool man, i might get that Nisi hood, don’t really wanna pay £100 for the Fuji one. Have you tested the weather sealing with it?

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  4 года назад +1

      I've not deliberately tried to get it wet, but I'll be doing another separate video about the Nisi filter in the next week or two 🤓

      @@FamauMedia Imo it maybe should be better than the Fuji one because the UV is fixed.

    I have a black x100v
    Small red shutter button
    Black metal thumb grip
    Black jjc base plate with grip(matches pattern on camera)
    Going to get a squarehood and new strap. Cheers

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  4 года назад

      Would you say the base plate grip is worth it? I've been considering both that and a hot shoe thumb grip 🤔

    Can we stack filters on top of the nisi hood?

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  4 года назад

      Nope, there’s no thread as it narrows at the front to fit the lens cap

  • @glennsak

    I prefer the straps from Simplr. Less material than the Peak strap.

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  4 года назад

      Just checked them out - they do look nice, I feel the Peak Design anchors would be a much stronger connection. The Simplr straps don't seem to be stocked in many places here in the UK either 🤔

  • @Nikita13337

    The third party batteries are cheap for a reason. They work the same as genuine batteries at first but age much worse and leave you with less capacity later. Don’t buy them.

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  3 года назад

      Still working great after 8 months, no regrets 💁‍♂️
