Just got my first deer ever. Was bow hunting in southern Minnesota. Was a nice 6 point I've been excited all day to sit down and watch this while I taste my first deer heart. Steve and this show is probably the biggest influence of why I've become passionate about hunting and conservation. Thank you.

The rabbit hunting strategy is making me wanna give up my solitary hunting and phone a friend. Only problem I can see is that the snowshoe hares up here will stay stock still til you pass by then run out behind you, not sure a square formation would necessarily work on them. Need like a “V” so the guy behind can see em run.
Good thing is you can still hunt them pretty well if you like working your eyes. It’s been five years that I’ve been focusing on it and I’m just now getting to where I can see one or two before they bolt (also helps that they change colors based on day length. They’re turning white now, but global warming has delayed the first snows into November around here).

This look like how I was as a kid
Little 12-13 year old me would go out each and everyday with my 20 gauge and my good old beagle named rosco and I would just walk and walk and walk (we had 900 acres between my parents and my grandparents) so I had the space to go
And each day I would come home with with 3 or 4 rabbits someday a sqiirl or 2 other days if I was lucky I could call in a yote with a little hand call and mabye shoot one (that only happened once but I got 4 red fox that way) and I would always love skinning them and eating them all on the weekend with a little campfire with my good ol dog
But that all ended once my dog passed (coyote got ahold of him one night and there was nothing to do whenever I saw him suffering so I had to do the hardest thing in my life and give him to the lord with my 22 (haven't shot 5hat pistol since) but after he passed i couldn't get anything
And I knew it was the coyotes fault so I set out 500 dollars worth of traps and set out to kill everyone possible
I trapped about 11 and shot atleast 30 of them
We had a coyote problem in our town dew to lots of farms
I still miss those days and my good ol rococo

I am not a hunter but have been intrigued by other meat eater videos in wanting to explore it. The deer hunt here seems somewhat strange to me, however. How often is that herd of deer run out of the woods like that? It seems to be a game that is being replayed as the deer look like they knew what was going on. I'm not as interested in this type of hunting as I have been when watching Steve track and hike deep into wild places to find wild animals. For me, it feels like fishing a rural stocked pond vs an alpine lake at 11k feet. I mean no offense to anyone that hunts like this. Just isn't as appealing to me, someone who has been wanting to learn to hunt.

The technique you peoples used are called HAN-CO in HINDI language. This was practished at the time of kings & british rule in india before 1947 when there was lots of jungle & wild animals. There peoples form a big circle and with drums make noise and scare them and push them to run in a particular directions. There the lords+british men coming from englandh hunted them as trophy. British hunted many big cat just for fun & trophy. After 1947 the hunting any wild big or small is totally prohibited. And we do not have that much big jungle also due to the populations explosion of fucking humans. 150 crores and fucking more.

I watched Randy Newberg for a long time, until the roadhunting dips***s took over. I think MeatEater and Rinella has become my favorite.
I watched a couple episodes of Gritty with Brian Call. First episode I watched, some blonde jackass is shooting at a mulie at 600 yards. Wounded him badly, and he suffered for what I assume was close to 5 minutes, hard to tell with editing, so **** that show too.
Quality hunting shows are getting few and far between.

Dear mr Rinella, I follow your show on Netflix and like it very much. However, I have a question for you: It seems that in the US no dogs are used to track wounded deer. I mean after the shot has been placed. I am from Europe, and hounds who are specialized in following the trail of a wounded deer or boar are common in Europe. E.g. (German = "Bayerischer Gebirgsschweißhund") .

Idea- link up with Chef Roi Choi or Chef David Chang for a celebrity cooking co-host episode.
They're amazing chefs who like Steve uses traditional foods from different cultures and combines or alters the techniques and recipes with amazing results. I bet he could help Steve figure out other ways to solve some of the different cooking problems associated with different game meats.
They're both funny as heck and specialize in creating new recipes and are definitely open to new experiences like hunting, as you can tell from their Netflix cooking shows, "The Chef Show" and "Ugly Delicious". I bet Steve could take them on a hunt based around what type of game they want to experiment with and make 2 episodes out of it! Take care y'all!

These people don't need to go to the butcher to buy meet. It's all out there, they're the lucky children and they can breath in the fresh air. But still, they need money right! True, but they save money. I can't do that, I have to spend more money to cook and I'm out in the city- yea...! But money is what makes the world go round. That's true! But I'm in love with my software. I'm, "com si com sa," in one way.
